Editorial: Manmade global warming disproved in 2008

linked image

Of course, I've been pointing out these ridiculous inconsistencies since last year, but it's interesting to see that more and more thinking people are coming around to the truth--AGW is a myth, a lie.

The first, on May 21, headed "Climate change threat to Alpine ski resorts" , reported that the entire Alpine "winter sports industry" could soon "grind to a halt for lack of snow". The second, on December 19, headed "The Alps have best snow conditions in a generation" , reported that this winter's Alpine snowfalls "look set to beat all records by New Year's Day".

Easily one of the most important stories of 2008 has been all the evidence suggesting that this may be looked back on as the year when there was a turning point in the great worldwide panic over man-made global warming. Just when politicians in Europe and America have been adopting the most costly and damaging measures politicians have ever proposed, to combat this supposed menace, the tide has turned in three significant respects.

First, all over the world, temperatures have been dropping in a way wholly unpredicted by all those computer models which have been used as the main drivers of the scare. Last winter, as temperatures plummeted, many parts of the world had snowfalls on a scale not seen for decades. This winter, with the whole of Canada and half the US under snow, looks likely to be even worse. After several years flatlining, global temperatures have dropped sharply enough to cancel out much of their net rise in the 20th century.

News Flash: Stars and Politicians are Science Illiterates

Of course, this news piece (and others like it) never mention the words "global warming," because the news media is scientifically illiterate on that subject. They're illiterate because they've forgotten a central tenant of science--DEBATE SHOULD NEVER BE DISCOURAGED OR FEARED.

When it comes to global warming, the media, the celebrities, the politicians, and even some of the scientists (those who've forgotten an openness to debate) are NO BETTER than you either.

Scientific illiteracy all the rage among the glitterati - Science, News - The Independent
:

When it comes to science, Barack Obama is no better than many of us. Today he joins the list of shame of those in public life who made scientifically unsupportable statements in 2008.

Closer to home, Nigella Lawson and Delia Smith faltered on the science of food, while Kate Moss, Oprah Winfrey and Demi Moore all get roastings for scientific illiteracy.

The Celebrities and Science Review 2008, prepared by the group Sense About Science, identifies some of the worst examples of scientific illiteracy among those who profess to know better – including top politicians.

Climate fruitcakes were out in force in 2008

The article below is a nice summation of my entire year on this blog, and FOX only scratches the surface of the work that Dr. Brignell, Steven Milloy, and others have done in fighting this enormously stupid hoax.

Follow the link and read the 10 things FOX says that "experts" claim is or will be caused by global warming, though the true list is, unfortunately, far longer than a mere 10 things. We highlighted many of these they put in their list over the past year, including cannibalism, kidney stones, extinctions, snake attacks, shark attacks, and so on. Hundreds of things have been pinned on global warming. It's really quite silly. See the GASP! posts here and Dr. Brignell's warmlist for a lengthy treatise. Get educated so that you can detach yourself from all the absurd propaganda, in the event you're still a hapless believer.

FOXNews.com - No Matter What Happens, Someone Will Blame Global Warming:

Global warming was blamed for everything from beasts gone wild to anorexic whales to the complete breakdown of human society this year -- showing that no matter what it is and where it happens, scientists, explorers, politicians and those who track the Loch Ness Monster are comfortable scapegoating the weather.

FOXNews.com takes a look back at 10 things that global warming allegedly caused — or will no doubt soon be responsible for — as reported in the news around the world in 2008.

GASP!: Christmas lights warm the planet!

linked image

Just in time for Christmas, the alarmist humbugs strike with a vengeance, lambasting carbon fuel used to power all those wonderful holiday lights. They never say global warming in the article, so you need to read between the lines: Carbon fuel burned equals CO2, which is the oft-implicated gas of global warming. More GASP! here and see Dr. Brignell's warmlist to read about everything that global warming 'causes.'

As alarmist scientists and their cohorts in the media continue blowing hot air (which they wouldn't do if they really cared about carbon emissions...ahem), Amtrak passengers were at the mercy of this awful winter weather we're having.

And in a flash to the recent past, remember when scientists told us that computing and our LCD monitors were also warming the planet? Let's face it...if we do everything these zealots want us to do, we'll all be living in the Stone Age again. WAKE UP AMERICA!!

Scientists warn Christmas lights harm the planet | The Courier-Mail:

SCIENTISTS have warned that Christmas lights are bad for the planet due to huge electricity waste and urged people to get energy efficient festive bulbs.

CSIRO researchers said householders should know that each bulb turned on in the name of Christmas will increase emissions of greenhouse gases.

Amtrak Troubles: Passengers Stranded For 23 Hours - cbs2chicago.com:
Others were delayed for hours. The worst case – more than 600 passengers trying to get to the Pacific Northwest were stuck on the train and in cold waiting rooms for nearly a day. Some said they had little food and water.

"We kept getting updated notifications that the toilets were frozen, the switching lines were frozen," a passenger said. "No one really knew what was going on."

The train finally left Tuesday afternoon – 23 hours late – but would only go as far as St. Paul, Minnesota.

Skeptical scientist profile: Dr. John Brignell

FaceI've been wanting to do this for sometime, because I've linked to Dr. Brignell's warmlist page a countless number of times.

From his CV:

Professor Emeritus (ESD)
John Brignell was educated at Stationers’ Company’s School and began his career as an apprentice at STC. He studied at Northampton Engineering College (which became The City University, London) and took the degrees of BSc(Eng) and PhD of London University. He joined the staff at Northampton and was successively Research Assistant, Research Fellow and Lecturer. He worked in a number of areas including dielectric liquids and computer aided measurement, co-authoring a book "Laboratory on-line computing" in 1975. He was for ten years Reader in Electronics at The City University and held the Chair in Industrial Instrumentation at Southampton for twenty years from 1980. He has researched and written extensively in the area of sensors and their applications, and in 1994 co-authored a book with Neil White on "Intelligent sensor systems". He had an extensive private consultancy practice for many years and has advised some of the larger international companies, as well as many small ones in the UK, on all aspects of industrial instrumentation. He pioneered the use of a number of technologies in sensing, such as thick film, and latterly turned his attention to the considerable possibilities of micro-engineering. He was elected Fellow of IOP, InstMC, IEE and RSA. In 1994 he was awarded the Callendar Silver Medal by InstMC. He served on the ISAT Committee of IoP from its inception and was the founding chairman of the first joint professional group of the IEE (J1), having served on both its predecessors (E1 and C11).
What Dr. Brignell has done is simple genius--keep a linked list of actual media stories and articles that purport to show the horrors--both past, present, and future--associated with manmade global warming and climate change.

Simply reading the mass of links is mind-boggling; in my opinion, visiting this one page is all that one needs to do to understand how stupid this global warming hoax is.

Dr. Brignell goes further with his entire Number Watch site--he's showing us how the media can misbehave when using numbers and statistics. Thank you, Dr. Brignell, for being brave enough to stick your neck out in this politically correct environment. As he says:

Number Watch - All about the scares, scams, junk, panics, and flummery cooked up by the media, politicians, bureaucrats, so-called scientists and others who try to confuse you with wrong numbers.

GASP!: No more "White Christmases"

Bing CrosbyYou may be dreaming of a White Christmas (and probably are experiencing a rather harsh one), but Reuters has news for you...you're all in big trouble come 2100! That's right folks...the cold, white stuff is history, thanks to your evil, capitalistic ways. LOL! You won't remember this climate BS in 2100 and neither will I...we'll all be dead by that time. Heck, my 7-year-old daughter will be 99 by then (and yes...I'm teaching her that global warming is crap).

I can only hope that all the antithetical research and evidence, both scientific and empirical, will survive in some documented form to show just how hysterical and stupid this entire warming scam was. We'll all be panicked over something else by that time, but I hope history will record this idiocy.

Need more fear and stupidity? Read the GASP! series, and please check out Dr. John Brignell's warmlist to hear from a REAL scientist and read about all the things insanely linked to global warming by the media!

Climate change could one day doom white Christmas | Environment | Reuters
:

BERLIN (Reuters) - The odds of a "white Christmas" in temperate parts of the northern hemisphere have diminished in the last century due to climate change and will likely decline further by 2100, climate and meteorology experts said.

Even though heavy snow this year will guarantee a white Christmas in many parts of Asia, Europe and North America, an 0.7-degree Celsius (1.3 Fahrenheit) rise in world temperatures since 1900 and projected bigger rises by 2100 suggest an inexorable trend.

China faces another rough winter

Seems just like last year. Don't worry alarmists--the "long term" trend is that we'll all by crispy critters by 2100, long after we're all dead and can't say--"see, I told you so, stupid alarmists...global warming is poppycock."

Snow, freezing weather sweep northern China | Environment | Reuters
:

BEIJING (Reuters) - Snow and freezing weather have swept large parts of northern China causing, travel chaos for thousands, state television and the meteorological department said on Sunday.

In Beijing's neighboring city of Tianjin, all flights were canceled at the Binhai International Airport due to heavy snow, which also sealed off road and rail links, television news said.

Amid record cold, U.N. uses 'long-term' mantra

I've already mentioned that there are two different realities going on with respect to the climate. There's the one we're all experiencing--replete with cold, snow, ice, cool summers, etc.--and then there's the one with which the "experts" keep scaring us to death--ice is melting, Earth is warming, we're all doomed...doOMED...DOOMED!

Apart from the ice-melt scare tactic, which I've written about many times in the GASP! series and in other posts on this blog, alarmists have another trick that they're using to convince you we're still warming amidst all the cold--"long term trends," which I've also blogged about on here.

The problem with their "long term trend" is academic--it's a statistical faux pas that they're refusing to adequately describe for the layman masses. In short, they're using statistics (that any decent scientist would reject) to paint a supporting picture, and this phenomenon is something that is NOT new to science. Crooked and mistaken scientists and researchers have used data unscrupulously for decades (about as long as the "long term trend.").

Arctic ice volume lowest ever as globe warms: U.N. | Environment | Reuters:

GENEVA (Reuters) - Ice volume around the Arctic region hit the lowest level ever recorded this year as climate extremes brought death and devastation to many parts of the world, the U.N. weather agency WMO said on Tuesday.

Although the world's average temperature in 2008 was, at 14.3 degrees Celsius (57.7 degrees Fahrenheit), by a fraction of a degree the coolest so far this century, the direction toward a warmer climate remained steady, it reported.

"What is happening in the Arctic is one of the key indicators of global warming," Michel Jarraud, Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), said. "The overall trend is still upwards."

Unrelenting winter weather...before winter starts

The parade of bad news for the alarmists is unrelenting. Must be karma. By the way...winter OFFICIALLY starts tomorrow, though we could say it started empirically back in Autumn.

AccuWeather.com - Weather Blogs - Weather News:

A major winter storm that has created chaos from the Midwest to the Northeast will slam Boston and southern New England with heavy snow tonight. A second storm will follow close behind this weekend, while a blast of arctic air and a third storm will cross the country in the days leading up to Christmas.
My Way News - Powerful winter storm cuts power, disrupts travel:
A winter storm packing snow, freezing rain and biting wind cut power to tens of thousands of customers Friday, disrupted travel and gave schoolchildren from Iowa to New England an early start on their holiday break. "One thing about it, you're going to have a white Christmas this year," said Lee Longdyke, as he shoveled a sidewalk in Pontiac, Mich., for the third time Friday morning.
Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood Daily » Snow Cools Off Hot Holiday Box Office: ‘Yes Man’ Cold #1 And ‘Seven Pounds’ #2; ‘The Wrestler’ Posts Best Screen Average:

SATURDAY AM: The weather outside is frightful -- snowstorms, followed by more cold and snow, in the Midwest and East -- on this weekend before Christmas. So very early numbers for the three big movies opening in wide release in some major markets Friday looked severely lower from Hollywood predictions.
AccuWeather.com - Weather Blogs - Weather News:
Another winter storm will cross the Midwest into the Northeast over the balance of the weekend, followed by a blast of arctic air. Meanwhile, a storm that will create blizzard conditions in the Northwest could cause trouble in the Midwest Tuesday and the East Christmas Eve day.

The Midwest and the East will barely have time to dig out from the snow and ice that blasted the regions on Friday before the next system moves through by Sunday.

More snow, cold head for Aspen | AspenTimes.com:
ASPEN — The snow in Aspen just keeps on coming, but it may be too cold to enjoy it by Saturday.

A winter storm that dumped up to a foot of snow on local ski slopes over the past two days has moved out, but another system is headed for Aspen Friday night. So are plummeting temperatures and a brutal wind chill.

CNN's Myers: AGW theory is 'arrogant'

This just becomes more delicious by the day. Anyone want to take bets on how much longer this global warming BS will last, now that the cards have started to fall and all the silent disbelievers who've patiently waited in the wings have started speaking up?

It has nothing to do with whether man can alter the climate with fart gas; this entire boondoggle is partly predicated on creating political dependence--so that Obama and other like-minded alarmists (like Al Gore) can 'save us.'

What could be a great political achievement to have on one's resume? "I saved the entire Earth."

Seek shelter, Chad! Dr. Cullen and her minions will be after you now for 'coming out,' even if their global warming show on the Weather Channel was cancelled. As you can see in the last bit from the article, the Thought Police were able to bring the other dissenting CNN meteorologist--Rob Marciano--back inline.

CNN Meteorologist: Manmade Global Warming Theory 'Arrogant':

Unprecedented snow in Las Vegas has some scratching their heads – how can there be global warming with this unusual winter weather?

CNN Meteorologist Chad Myers had never bought into the notion that man can alter the climate and the Vegas snowstorm didn’t impact his opinion. Myers, an American Meteorological Society certified meteorologist, explained on CNN’s Dec. 18 “Lou Dobbs Tonight” that the whole idea is arrogant and mankind was in danger of dying from other natural events more so than global warming.

“You know, to think that we could affect weather all that much is pretty arrogant,” Myers said. “Mother Nature is so big, the world is so big, the oceans are so big – I think we’re going to die from a lack of fresh water or we’re going to die from ocean acidification before we die from global warming, for sure.”

***
Marciano also said that, “global warming does not conclusively cause stronger hurricanes like we’ve seen,” pointing out that “by the end of this century we might get about a 5 percent increase.”

His comments drew a strong response and he recanted the next day saying “the globe is getting warmer and humans are the likely the main cause of it.”

Snow in Malibu; CA freeways close

Cue the global warming fear and tap-dancing articles to stem the flow from these open, empirically-inflicted wounds in the hearts and minds of alarmist cult members everywhere!

FOXNews.com - Frigid Storm Closes California Freeways, Drops Snow in Malibu:

LOS ANGELES — Snow snarled major mountain highways and even dusted Malibu on Wednesday as a cold storm hit parts of California. One person was killed by a wind-related helicopter crash, and an overflowing river on the U.S.-Mexico border led to the evacuation of nearly two dozen people, rescues of about 50 horses and the deaths of four others.

Biggest Las Vegas snow since 1979!

Remember, circa 1973 was when prominent, liberal US magazines like Newsweek were stating that we were in for our next ice age. Looks like they're finally getting their wish, though they'll explain it away to save the 'green lie.'

Also remember that winter has not officially started! Don't worry, however, alarmists. Fear-mongering scientists have figured out a way to keep you believing through all this cold weather that's melting the glaciers, LOL!

Las Vegas Now | Winter Weather Hits Las Vegas:

The National Weather Service says this could end up being the biggest snowstorm to impact Las Vegas since 1979 when 7.8 inches of snow was measured at McCarran International Airport.

NV Energy says about 2,000 customers are without power in the area of Rancho and US-95. They are working on fixing the problem.

The Clark County School District says it will make a decision in the early morning hours as to whether schools will be closed due to the weather.

Scientists weigh in on flawed AP article

I wrote about this article at length the other day. Nice to see that some REAL scientists are standing up to be counted as critics of all this relentless fear-mongering and propaganda, still occurring in the face of overwhelming scientific and empirical data that dispels the myth of global warming.

Melting ice? Please read the last bits in the article below. Dr. O'Brien makes some excellent scientific points, which alarmists will promptly ignore.

FOXNews.com - Scientists Call AP Report on Global Warming 'Hysteria':

Scientists skeptical of the assertion that climate change is the result of man's activites are criticizing a recent Associated Press report on global warming, calling it "irrational hysteria," "horrifically bad" and "incredibly biased."

They say the report, which was published on Monday, contained sweeping scientific errors and was a one-sided portrayal of a complicated issue.

"If the issues weren't so serious and the ramifications so profound, I would have to laugh at it," said David Deming, a geology professor at the University of Oklahoma who has been critical of media reporting on the climate change issue.

In the article, Obama Left with Little Time to Curb Global Warming, AP Science Writer Seth Borenstein wrote that global warming is "a ticking time bomb that President-elect Barack Obama can't avoid," and that "global warming is accelerating."

Deming, in an interview, took issue with Borenstein's characterization of a problem he says doesn't exist.

"He says global warming is accelerating. Not only is it continuing, it's accelerating, and whether it's continuing that was completely beyond the evidence," Deming told FOXNews.com.

"The mean global temperature, at least as measured by satellite, is now the same as it was in the year 1980. In the last couple of years sea level has stopped rising. Hurricane and cyclone activity in the northern hemisphere is at a 24-year low and sea ice globally is also the same as it was in 1980."

Deming said the article is further evidence of the media's decision to talk about global warming as fact, despite what he says is a lack of evidence.

"Reporters, as I understand reporters, are supposed to report facts,"Deming said. "What he's doing here is he's writing a polemic and reporting it as fact, and that's not right. It's not reporting. It's propaganda.

"This reads like a press release for an environmental advocacy group like Greenpeace. It's not fair and balanced."

***

He took issue with the AP article's assertion that melting Arctic ice will cause global sea levels to rise.

"When the Arctic Ocean ice melts, it never raises sea level because floating ice is floating ice, because it's displacing water," O'Brien said. "When the ice melts, sea level actually goes down.

"I call it a fourth grade science experiment. Take a glass, put some ice in it. Put water in it. Mark level where water is. Let it melt. After the ice melts, the sea level didn't go up in your glass of water. It's called the Archimedes Principle."

He called sea level changes a "major scare tactic used by the global warming people."

Cold weather offers no respite for U.S.

Dr EvilHas winter even officially started yet?

Ironic really. The same news organization--The Ass. Press (abbreviation intentional)--that must report this brutal winter weather also sent out global warming fear tripe earlier this week, in attempts to dissuade us from concluding that global warming isn't happening because of all this darn cold. Reading this story reminds me so much of LAST WINTER and EVEN LAST SPRING! Heck, how 'bout LAST SUMMER?! Wonder if the North Pole melted like media reports predicted? I didn't hear anything more of it.

Don't worry...global warming doesn't always cause such cold winters! (This was from last year too.) LOL!

In the words of the immortal Dr. Evil:

"R-i-g-h-t!"

No respite as wintry storms spread over nation - Taunton Gazett (AP):

Freezing air blanketed much of the nation Tuesday, making roads hazardous in Texas and slowing recovery from ice storm blackouts in New England, in the second day of a bitter cold wave.

Temperatures were 20 below zero and lower across the northern Plains, and a band of snow, freezing rain and sleet stretched from Kansas along the Ohio Valley to Maine.

Dozens of schools closed in Kentucky and Tennessee because of slippery roads and salt truck crews started working before dawn. Up to a half-foot of snow had fallen in parts of Kentucky.

"It's pretty treacherous," said Jodi Shacklette, a Kentucky State Police dispatcher in Elizabethtown. "We're working wrecks just left and right."

Winter storms from NJ to NV

This stands in stark contrast to the previous post on melting ice. See what I mean? Do you trust NASA or your own damn senses?

FOXNews.com - Winter Storm Warnings Issued From New Jersey to Nevada:

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Winter storm warnings were issued from New Jersey to Nevada early Tuesday as frigid temperatures, sleet and snow spread to virtually all corners of the nation.

The arctic air that blustered across the Midwest and West on Monday — dropping temperatures in some places 30 degrees in about an hour — was now targeting the East and South.

Snow and sleet warnings were posted Tuesday for parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Colorado, Utah, Nebraska, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and the Washington, D.C., area.

NASA falls back on "melting ice"

Wizard-Of-Oz-W24Given Dr. Hansen's recent blaring mathematical errors, where he incorrectly proclaimed Oct 2008 as the warmest October ever, NASA has decided to fall back on a common empirical theme used by global warming alarmists when there are times of trouble -- THE ICE IS MELTING, THE ICE IS MELTING! Need more fear? Read the GASP! series and the warmlist.

Of course, they don't spend a lot of time (they actually avoid) talking about the ice that reforms EVERY SINGLE WINTER. When alarmist scientists have discussed ice that reforms annually in the press, they predictably downplay the "new ice" in attempts to strengthen the level of alarm in the minds and hearts of the public. In other words: "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!" These devious powers want us all to be the Cowardly Lion. Al Gore is the Wizard...Dr. Cullen is the Wicked Witch, and Dr. Hansen is one of her evil monkeys.

As expected, empirical evidence (e.g., heat waves, storms, hurricanes, etc.) that seems to support global warming as a theory is always played up in the endorsable media, while antithetical empirical evidence (that which calls global warming into question--record cold, winter storms, ice, etc.) is covered up or turned on its head as proof of AGW (this is one reason alarmists switched to the term "climate change" as opposed to "global warming"--that way man can be blamed for warming or cooling). This is why alarmists say that the cooling of recent years is a result of warming or that warming is being "masked" by cooling. See how ridiculous this is? The sun cools (fewer sunspots)? They ignore that scientific observation as a cause for our cooling, because it doesn't fit the CO2 template.

There's alarm right now in the camps of alarmists; the trend over the past few years (both scientific and empirical) has not been good for the theory of manmade global warming. For one thing...it's REALLY FRICKIN' COLD OUTSIDE, so alarmists proclaim that the cold is being caused by warming or that it's only masking the warming. Antithetical science is simply ignored or countered with supporting pseudo-science. Skeptical scientists (and there are MANY...not a few as portrayed in the media) who question the theory or ask to debate are lambasted (more proof that this crap IS NOT REAL).

The other problem for alarmists is that the economy has taken a dive, so the public is saying 'hell no!' to the expense of "solving" a nonexistent problem. Ironically, top liberals consistently said that we needed a slower economy to fight AGW; well, they got their wish! They may wish they had never wished for that, because a slower economy means fewer will support political action to address environmental issues, especially those that are questionable.

People are beginning to smell a rat, and the alarmists know it. The alarmists have all sorts of reasons for propping up this madness, so they'll keep it up...even if a new ice age takes hold. After all, any new ice age will just be proof of global warming. LOL!

FOXNews.com - NASA: 2 Trillion Tons of Ice Have Melted Since 2003:

WASHINGTON — More than 2 trillion tons of land ice in Greenland, Antarctica and Alaska have melted since 2003, according to new NASA satellite data that show the latest signs of what scientists say is global warming.

More than half of the loss of landlocked ice in the past five years has occurred in Greenland, based on measurements of ice weight by NASA's GRACE satellite, said NASA geophysicist Scott Luthcke. The water melting from Greenland in the past five years would fill up about 11 Chesapeake Bays, he said, and the Greenland melt seems to be accelerating.

GASP!: Obama has little time left to save us

I just swallowed my tongue (and threw up in mouth a little). The AP steps in, once again, and shows just how biased and stupid they are. First, they imply that "only Obama" can save us, which is just asinine, even if global warming was real--AND IT IS NOT REAL!!! This Obama-worship is really disgusting to behold, because I realize there will be ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THIS MAN. If he controls the press then he has absolute power to do with us and our country as he pleases.

Second, the AP echos a common alarmist theme to explain the cooling weather--GLOBAL WARMING IS CAUSING THE COOLING!!! The ultimate unified dichotomy (yes...I just contradicted myself because they certainly do)!

On the fear front, they throw in "time has run out" and animals are "going extinct"--all common fear themes we've seen time and time again.

This would be funny if it wasn't so audacious. Take antithetical empirical evidence and turn it around! This way, if it's hot out then it's global warming...and if it's cold...you guess it...global warming is causing it. They win no matter which side of the zero line the temperature waveform travels. Read other GASP! posts and check the warmlist to learn how stupid this propaganda has become.

Remember what Cornell University recently said (because the AP won't tell you): GLOBAL WARMING IS OVERESTIMATED!!! The only thing time has run out on is the lie of global warming.

See below where they let slip another juicy tidbit: Some scientists "but not all" believe in global warming. Yeah...how about >31,000 scientists (including me) DON'T BELIEVE.

Besides, we should be safe now, because Bill Clinton and others said that we needed to slow the economy to fight global warming. Well, they got their wish, so we should be all fine now.

My Way News - Obama left with little time to curb global warming:

WASHINGTON (AP) - When Bill Clinton took office in 1993, global warming was a slow-moving environmental problem that was easy to ignore. Now it is a ticking time bomb that President-elect Barack Obama can't avoid.

***

"We're out of time," Stanford University biologist Terry Root said. "Things are going extinct."

***

Now some scientists, but not all, say the safe carbon dioxide level for Earth is about 10 percent below what it is now.

***
Mother Nature, of course, is oblivious to the federal government's machinations. Ironically, 2008 is on pace to be a slightly cooler year in a steadily rising temperature trend line. Experts say it's thanks to a La Nina weather variation. While skeptics are already using it as evidence of some kind of cooling trend, it actually illustrates how fast the world is warming.

'Earth Stood Still' because it warmed up

Once upon a time, 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' was a valid testament against nuclear war. Today, it has morphed into a politically correct diatribe against 'global warming.'

Winter weather raining on alarm parade

But don't worry...the Lord Obama will save us from the "warming" by signing a stupid, worthless dork-ument for the U.N. Actually, I'm sure it's much colder now simply because He was elected--the weather obeys His every whim. LOL!

Blizzard hits the northern Plains and upper Midwest - USATODAY.com:

A blizzard expected to drop nearly a foot of snow in some parts of North Dakota by the end of the weekend ushered in the coldest weather of the winter.

"We've got that arctic air that's just going to be stuck over us," said Ken Simosko, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Bismarck. "It's going to be dangerously cold."

The weather service posted a blizzard warning for western and central North Dakota for Saturday afternoon, and for the east Saturday night. Simosko said the storm was a combination of Pacific moisture and arctic air.
AFP: Disdain for Bush, hope for Obama on climate change:

POZNAN, Poland (AFP) — George W. Bush's last hurrah in the global climate arena has met with a welling of disdain contrasting with the outsized expectations for his successor, Barack Obama.

President Klaus tells the truth once again, and the media attempts to portray him as off-balance for daring to question something so politically correct as global warming. Meanwhile, cold weather in the U.S. continues to thumb its nose at "warming." Maybe if they'll get the power back on in New Hampshire., the carbon created will warm them up and melt all that ice! LOL!

Weird. New Hampshire had really cold (record setting) weather last winter too.

Czech president hits at EU climate deal:

Czech President Vaclav Klaus hit out at the EU climate deal concluded Friday and described global climate issues as "a silly luxury."

"I do not like the way they forced it", Klaus said shortly after an agreement was announced in Brussels.

He also claimed that his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy had "pushed" the deal so that it would not be left when the Czech Republic takes over the EU presidency from France on January 1.

"This is scandalous," he said. "We should have been able to discuss it during our presidency, to force it now is not very good."

"Environmental issues are a luxury good," Klaus added. "Now we have to tighten our belt and to cut the luxury."

Global climate issues "are a silly luxury good," he repeated.

More outages possible in ice-ravaged Northeast - Yahoo! News:
ROCHESTER, N.H. – Utility officials trying to recover from the devastating ice storm in the Northeast warned there could be more outages Sunday as drooping branches shed ice and snap back to their original positions, potentially taking out more power lines. Roughly 800,000 customers were still without power in upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine late Saturday. Utilities in hardest-hit New Hampshire said power might not be totally restored to the region until Thursday or Friday, a week after the storm knocked down utility lines, poles and equipment and blacked out 1.4 homes and businesses.

President Bush declared a state of emergency in the Granite State and in nine of Massachusetts' 14 counties late Saturday, directing the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide relief assistance.

Greens prop up scam while snow piles up

Funny. You have two different realities, apparently--all within the same news cycle. On one hand, the Green liberals continue to act as if we're facing immediate doom at the hands of manmade warming, ignoring the cold or explaining it away. On the other hand, cold weather events and records ignore the Greens' doltish obedience and continue making disbelievers out of average people, who don't like being told it's raining as warm urine rolls down their backs.

Then you have us scientifically-educated skeptics who see the folly of the junk science spewed from the mouths of alarmist scientists, who attempt to appear impartial.

Man, what a trip this is...

Washington Times - Al Gore to host 'green' inaugural ball:

Former Vice President Al Gore will host a "green" inaugural ball the night before President-elect Barack Obama takes the oath of office.
Snow surprises Houston-area residents | Chronicle | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle:
Falling snowflakes glimmered in streetlights, so wide that they billowed to the ground like parachutes, and so tantalizing that even awestruck adults reached out their hands or stuck out their tongues to catch one.

By Wednesday evening, the flakes were big enough to hold their shape for a moment on the street before melting into the pavement, and a dusting had collected on parked cars in some parts of town.

The flurries tied a record for Houston's earliest snowfall ever and warmed the hearts of winter weather lovers who have pined for snow since it last made an appearance on Christmas Eve 2004.

Sleet, snow tail off in New Orleans - Times-Picayune - NOLA.com:
For the first time in nearly four years, snow fell across the New Orleans region this morning, with flurries reported on the north shore and in the city, Metairie, Kenner, LaPlace and other parts of the south shore. By around 10 a.m., the snow had mostly stopped, replaced by freezing rain in many places, making driving treacherous. By noon, the precipitation had mostly ceased altogether.
Obama can sign U.N. climate pact before U.S. law: Kerry | Reuters:
POZNAN, Poland (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate will let President-elect Barack Obama sign up to a U.N. pact to fight global warming in late 2009 even if U.S. climate laws are not yet in place, U.S. Senator John Kerry predicted on Thursday.

Record arctic blast hits Southern California

Ick! Gak! Choke! Har-har-har! Explained away easily by alarmists...it's La Nina, ya'll. Empirical evidence just isn't good news, is it...Dr. Hansen, Dr. Cullen, Non-Dr. Gore? Hello? Uh, duh...HELLO?!!!

Rare 50 year Arctic Blast Sets Sights On Southern California. : Conejo Valley : Ventura County Star:

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA - December 8, 2008 (OWSweather.com) Rare 50 year Arctic Blast Sets Sights On Southern California.

With a week away, and a sure sign of things to come, OWSweather.com is making preparations on the server to handle the traffic from this next event. UJEAS is in line with the majority if not all the other models in keeping a near historical arctic air mass into the Southern California region.

Gutfield's spot-on, GREEN commentary

Greg Gutfield of the Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfield makes some great points in his piece on the Green Movement and Rockefeller Center's "Green Holiday [ahem...Christmas] Tree." Please follow the link to read the entire short piece--it's well worth a few minutes.

FOXNews.com - Proof the Green Movement Is a Stupid Joke - Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld:

I mean, if you really believe in going green, then cancel the tree lighting altogether and replace it with a pagan prayer recited by a naked Ed Begley, Jr.

And that's the point of going green: Anything that's fun must be bad for the planet. And this is why all environmentalists are so boring. Being green is just an excuse for self-absorbed saps to prove their superiority without doing anything superior.

Alarmists admit ‘cool year’ but coach you on conclusions to draw

Forget that 2008 will be the ‘coolest’ year of this decade, according to ‘experts.’ 2007 was also quite cold (as you can review by looking over some of our past posts on the empirical evidence of weather phenomenon), and alarmist scientists were coaching us then to disregard the record cold for several reasons.

Remember the prediction about 2008 too! 2008 was going to be among 'the hottest on record' compared against the 'long term average' (a period which laughably amounts to only 30 years out of the Earth's estimated 4.5 billion year age).

They stated, among other things, that the sudden cooling was just a brief anomaly, it was being caused by warming (LOL!), and they have used climate revisionism (La Nina) to explain away the sudden antithetical appearance of cold weather (that is ‘masking’ warming – LOL!). These record cold spells and record winter storms (see China’s misery last winter), in essence, disrupt their entire fearmongering theory (upon which they’ve hung their collective professional reputations).

The question is, why are alarmists ALARMED over these recent cooling trends and our attitudes about it? Because they realize the obvious conundrum that even the stupidest among us can discern—CO2 has continued going up while temperatures have continued to drop (and dropped since 1998, if you believe their baseline). Lately, temperatures have dropped DRAMATICALLY, and CO2 has certainly NOT!

Remember why they NEED this pseudo-religion to be REAL! Scientific reputations are on the line. Federal climate research grants are on the line. Political power is on the line. The ‘Greed Fad’ and associated climate industries are all on the line, and there’s an increasingly skeptical public (at least in the U.S. and U.K.), who are bound and gagged by political correctness from declaring, “I DON’T BELIEVE IN THIS RETARDED STUPIDITY!” The world, however, faces a global economic crisis, and with falling temperatures, the little manmade climate change fart cloud is rapidly dissipating; people don’t want you telling them to buy the expensive ‘green’ light bulbs when they’ve just been laid off. The alarmists' NEED grows daily, or more of their ilk are going to suffer (like the climate team at the Weather Channel).

Forget the junk science in this article. Let’s go over some facts they’ve omitted. Global mean temperatures have only DECLINED since 1998, which Dr. Hansen, alarmo-scientist extraordinaire, declared (and later retracted) as the ‘hottest year ever.’ We’ve also seen his most recent mistake (where he declared October 2008 the hottest ever); he later had to retract this silly assertion when some of my intelligent, skeptical brethren and sistren bloggers pointed out the stupid errors in his skewed data (he used September temperatures instead of October temperatures).

2008 will be coolest year of the decade:

Global average for 2008 should come in close to 14.3C, but cooler temperature is not evidence that global warming is slowing, say climate scientists

***

The relatively chilly temperatures compared with recent years are not evidence that global warming is slowing however, say climate scientists at the Met Office. "Absolutely not," said Dr Peter Stott, the manager of understanding and attributing climate change at the Met Office's Hadley Centre. "If we are going to understand climate change we need to look at long-term trends."

Prof Myles Allen at Oxford University who runs the climateprediction.net website, said he feared climate sceptics would overinterpret the figure. "You can bet your life there will be a lot of fuss about what a cold year it is. Actually no, its not been that cold a year, but the human memory is not very long, we are used to warm years," he said, "Even in the 80s [this year] would have felt like a warm year."

***

The Met Office predicted at the beginning of the year that 2008 would be cooler than recent years because of a La Niña event - characterised by unusually cold ocean temperatures in the equatorial Pacific Ocean. It is the mirror image of the El Niño climate cycle. The Met Office had forecast an annual global average of 14.37C.

***

In March, a team of climate scientists at Kiel University predicted that natural variation would mask the 0.3C warming predicted by the Intergovernment Panel on Climate Change over the next decade. They said that global temperatures would remain constant until 2015 but would then begin to accelerate.

GASP!: Venice floods sometimes

Predictably, the media manages to make some far-reaching assertions in this article. When I saw the headline, I just knew they’d bury the words “global warming” in it someplace, and I wasn’t wrong.

Venice is a city (a lot like New Orleans) built on swampy land. IT HAS ALWAYS HAD FLOODING PROBLEMS! They even tell you in the article that this is the worst flooding since 1986 (meaning it occurred then and in times before)! Global warming is NOT increasing the “severity and frequency” of floods in Venice (or anywhere else for that matter).

I wonder if the North Pole completely melted as predicted for this past summer (due to climate change)? I sure didn’t hear anything more about it in the news after the original fear piece, did you? Seems that it would have been big news. Hmmm...

WAKE UP WORLD! You’re being HAD! Please read the GASP! series and check out the warmlist for links to articles that expose everything that global warming is supposedly causing.

Tourists warned to stay away as Venice suffers worst flooding for two decades:

The entire city, founded on a collection of marshy islands in the 5th century, suffers from periodic flooding. The growing severity and frequency of the floods is attributed to silt deposits raising the floor of the lagoon and a rise in sea levels caused by global warming.

CNN: "Unusually destructive" hurricane season

Just when you thought the whole global warming-hurricane link had been thoroughly debunked, up pops alarmism advocate CNN (Communist News Network) to prop up the fart cloud. Please read the previous post where we talked about this year's REALLY SLOW season compared to (once again) inaccurate predictions.

The point is to keep making each hurricane season seem "unusual" to tie it into the overall theory of climate change, and we know that Al Gore and his cult followers really buy into this link, which has been debunked by NOAA.

CNN, predictably, chooses to highlight certain facts and omit others (omission bias). For instance, they say that this was the fourth busiest season since 1944. My follow-up questions: How spread out were those four seasons? What about the seasons prior to 1944? Costs? Yes, hurricane damage in terms of dollars is greater today (even when adjusted for inflation) because there are more people and greater densities of people living in coastal areas.

Hurricane damage IS NOT GREATER because of manmade climate change.

Hmmm? Hello, CNN? Hmmm?

An unusually destructive hurricane season ends - CNN.com:

(CNN) -- The 2008 Atlantic hurricane season ended Sunday, marking the finish of one of the busiest and costliest hurricane seasons ever.

Sherrie Hoppal cleans out her Texas home that was flooded by Hurricane Ike in September.

The damage caused by this year's Atlantic hurricanes is estimated at $54 billion, according to the National Climatic Data Center. That's second in recorded history only to 2005, the year Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated the Gulf Coast. The total that year was an estimated $128 billion.

International court to PUNISH non-compliant states over AGW

Even though the world is rejecting this global warming nonsense (and rightly so), politicians (read lawmakers and lawyers) are going to make certain they get their required mileage out of the scam, given that there has been a significant investment of time and money in propping it up.

I hope that our new President-elect will reject this stupidity and protect our sovereignty. My guess is that he won't; he has made clear that he believes in the corrupt U.N. and international influence over our country's foreign policy (so that the world will "like us").

Lawyers call for international court for the environment - Telegraph:

A former chairman of the Bar Council is calling for an international court for the environment to punish states that fail to protect wildlife and prevent climate change.

Stephen Hockman QC is proposing a body similar to the International Court of Justice in The Hague to be the supreme legal authority on issues regarding the environment.

The first role of the new body would be to enforce international agreements on cutting greenhouse gas emissions set to be agreed next year.

But the court would also fine countries or companies that fail to protect endangered species or degrade the natural environment and enforce the “right to a healthy environment”.

The innovative idea is being presented to an audience of politicians, scientists and public figures for the first time at a symposium at the British Library.

Mr Hockman, a deputy High Court judge, said that the threat of climate change means it is more important than ever for the law to protect the environment.

Poll: Support for global climate action FALLS!

Please read my previous post about President Klaus, the Czech President and E.U. President-elect--he's a huge climate skeptic and has more or less pronounced the end of the global warming scam. The failing economy might drive the final nail in the coffin.

Previous polls show that this reluctant admission by the media is true: The world is saying "no thanks" to this hyped baloney and efforts that will require their personal suffering to "fix" something that isn't even broken.

I love how the Windsor Star makes efforts in the same piece to show snow cannons blasting snow on European ski resorts because of "how hot is has been during winter." Really??!!? Perhaps they haven't been reading the same news and empirical evidence I've been reading, which I've linked to heavily on this blog to make a point--the media is in the tank for global warming, and global warming is a bunch of crap (that they're pulling out all stops to save).

Efforts to support global climate-change falls: Poll:

PARIS - There is both growing public reluctance to make personal sacrifices and a distinct lack of enthusiasm for the major international efforts now underway to battle climate change, according to findings of a poll of 12,000 citizens in 11 countries, including Canada.

Results of the poll were released this week in advance of the start of a major international conference in Poland where delegates are considering steps toward a new international climate-change treaty to replace the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012.

There already are reports emerging that some countries, such as coal-dependent Poland, are pushing for special treatment to avoid making major commitments to slash carbon emissions during a global economic downturn.

Less than half of those surveyed, or 47 per cent, said they were prepared to make personal lifestyle changes to reduce carbon emissions, down from 58 per cent last year.

Only 37 per cent said they were willing to spend "extra time" on the effort, an eight-point drop. And only one in five respondents - or 20 per cent - said they'd spend extra money to reduce climate change. That's down from 28 per cent a year ago.

Climate alarmism is in peril

405Px-Vaclav Klaus Headshot-1Our good friend and future EU president, Vaclav Klaus, is back in the news (being predictably eviscerated by the NYT for his disbelief in global warming bullcrap).

One great thing could come from this economic downturn: The death of climate alarmism and global warming belief in a vast majority of the world's citizens (we've already seen it happen here and in the UK).

I say, "Adios!"

Beware the church of climate alarm - Miranda Devine - Opinion - smh.com.au:

As the Czech President, Vaclav Klaus, an economist, anti-totalitarian and climate change sceptic, prepares to take up the rotating presidency of the European Union next year, climate alarmists are doing their best to traduce him.

The New York Times opened a profile of Klaus, 67, this week with a quote from a 1980s communist secret agent's report, claiming he behaves like a "rejected genius", and asserts there is "palpable fear" he will "embarrass" the EU.

But the real fear driving climate alarmists wild is that a more rational approach to the fundamentalist religion of global warming may be in the ascendancy - whether in the parliamentary offices of the world's largest trading bloc or in the living rooms of Blacktown.

As the global financial crisis takes hold, perhaps people are starting to wonder whether the so-called precautionary principle, which would have us accept enormous new taxes in the guise of an emissions trading scheme and curtail economic growth, is justified, based on what we actually know about climate.

One of Australia's leading enviro-sceptics, the geologist and University of Adelaide professor Ian Plimer, 62, says he has noticed audiences becoming more receptive to his message that climate change has always occurred and there is nothing we can do to stop it.

Czech Prez: Gore "apostle of arrogance"

Let's hear it once again for a REAL European leader, not afraid to call a spade a spade and risk evisceration by the media (which he promptly receives every time he dares mention "global warming" or Al Gore, the Most Stupid). Thanks Vaclav Klaus!

A fiery Czech is poised to be the face of Europe - International Herald Tribune:

Decades later, Klaus, the 67-year-old president of the Czech Republic — an iconoclast with a perfectly clipped mustache — continues to provoke strong reactions. He has blamed what he calls the misguided fight against global warming for contributing to the international financial crisis, branded Al Gore an "apostle of arrogance" for his role in that fight, and accused the European Union of acting like a Communist state.

Weather Channel's Forecast Earth axed!

We all know that NBC is a beehive full of liberal, green bumbles. MSNBC has been coloring its logo green in recently, and NBC's Weather Channel has long been a vocal believer in manmade climate change, from Dr. Heidi Cullen's "Climate Code" to the most recent "Forecast Earth." And all this over the fervid protests of the Weather Channel's founder, John Coleman, who is a huge global warming skeptic and detractor.

Funny thing happened. Global warming went poof! Economy went poof! Alarmism must now go poof! The Weather Channel nixes "Forecast Earth" and most of its staff, possibly even Natalie Allen and Heidi Cullen too.

This is just too delicious. Looks like some folks didn't salvage their reputations quickly enough. Bring on the cold.

NBC Fires Weather Channel Environmental Unit - Capital Weather Gang:

NBC Universal made the first of potentially several rounds of staffing cuts at The Weather Channel (TWC) on Wednesday, axing the entire staff of the "Forecast Earth" environmental program during the middle of NBC's "Green Week," as well as several on-camera meteorologists. The layoffs totaled about 10 percent of the workforce, and are among the first major changes made since NBC completed its purchase of the venerable weather network in September.

***

The timing of the Forecast Earth cancellation was ironic, since it came in the middle of NBC's "Green Week," during which the network has been touting its environmental coverage across all of its platforms. Forecast Earth normally aired on weekends, but its presumed last episode was shown on a weekday due to the environmentally-oriented week.

Forecast Earth was hosted by former CNN anchor Natalie Allen, with contributions from climate expert Heidi Cullen. It was the sole program on TWC that focused on global climate change, which raises the question of whether the station will still report on the subject. Cullen's future role at the network is not known.

Obama-mobile: <10 miles per gallon!

As I thought, Obama is a green hypocrite, just like all the other prominent climate alarmists--especially that hypocrite bumbler named Al Gore.

Green Obama’s official limo is a gas guzzler - Times Online :

On the campaign trail, Barack Obama promised to get a million plug-in hybrid cars on the road by 2015. His own new presidential limousine will be far from green, however.

The Obamobile being prepared for the president-elect is said to be a monster gas-guzzler made by General Motors, the troubled car giant. It will look like a black Cadillac but is built like a tank. A spy photographer who tracks down future car models for magazines snatched pictures of the heavily disguised first-car-in-waiting when it was being road-tested last summer.

The armour-plated car, which has a raised roof, windows up to 5in thick, extra-strength tyres and a body made of steel, aluminium, titanium and ceramics, is thought to be based on a GMC 2500 truck that gets less than 10 miles to the gallon.

Cornell University: Global warming OVERESTIMATED

The truth continues trickling out. And gets ignored. For instance, take a look at Al Gore's fear blog and Obama's recent revoicing comments; they all keep pretending as if there's absolutely no reliable, contradictory evidence in existence that detracts from the theory of manmade climate change. This issue (it's not real science at all from the advocate's perspective) has become far too political and wealth-producing to simply go away based on any scientific and/or empirical reality.

Cornell Chronicle: Black carbon affects climate predictions:

A detailed analysis of black carbon -- the residue of burned organic matter -- in computer climate models suggests that those models may be overestimating global warming predictions.

***

As a result of global warming, soils are expected to release more carbon dioxide, the major greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere, which, in turn, creates more warming. Climate models try to incorporate these increases of carbon dioxide from soils as the planet warms, but results vary greatly when realistic estimates of black carbon in soils are included in the predictions, the study found.

***

By entering realistic estimates of stocks of black carbon in soil from two Australian savannas into a computer model that calculates carbon dioxide release from soil, the researchers found that carbon dioxide emissions from soils were reduced by about 20 percent over 100 years, as compared with simulations that did not take black carbon's long shelf life into account.

The findings are significant because soils are by far the world's largest source of carbon dioxide, producing 10 times more carbon dioxide each year than all the carbon dioxide emissions from human activities combined. Small changes in how carbon emissions from soils are estimated, therefore, can have a large impact.

Forecasters: It's cold now but will be warm later

Forecasters said the same thing about last year's record cold winter (i.e., it was only going to be briefly cold--ahem, WRONG!).

Review the posts here, here, and here (among others talking about last year's winter). We were also told, insanely, that the cold weather we were seeing was caused by global warming! Then La Nina and El Nino were used as excuses to explain away the record-setting cold we've seen, which runs empirically counter to the entire global warming theory. Again and again, climate predictions--from higher temperatures to increased hurricanes--have continually refused to materialize. Can you expect this prediction to be any different than the others? I PREDICT NO!

Clearly, it's uncomfortable for the believers and alarmists in the media to keep seeing these low temperatures that cast doubt on all the brainwashing in which they've engaged.

Cold start to winter will warm, forecasters say - USATODAY.com:

Weather forecasters are predicting a colder-than-normal start to winter in the eastern part of the United States.

The season overall will be warmer than normal in the Southwest, South and parts of the Midwest, according to independent forecasters.

"It's going to be an aggressive start," said Ken Reeves, director of forecasting at Accuweather.com.

"What's really going to stand out for a lot of people is the immediate slap in the face of what will be a rather cold December, especially in the eastern third of the nation," Reeves said.

***

Despite the early cold, Ed O'Lenic, a senior meteorologist and chief of the climate operations branch at the Climate Prediction Center, said he believes this winter will be warmer than the average over the past 30 years.

Anthony Barnston, director of forecasting at Columbia University's International Research Institute in New York, said a lessening of La Niña could result in a warmer winter.

The Lord Obama speaks...and sounds dumb

Sounding like a liberal broken record, President-elect Obama (true to form) comes out against carbon and makes several asinine proclamations. We already know that Schwarzenegger is a climate idiot; we can expect this from a muscleheaded steroid junkie. But Obama is supposed to be smarter than God, remember?

Ahem, Dear Lord Obama, the Almightly Savior of all person-kind, the science IS NOT BEYOND DISPUTE. SCIENCE IS NEVER BEYOND DISPUTE, and the "science" behind global warming is total BS. Furthermore, that Al Gore hat-trick about hurricanes is old and has been thoroughly debunked, including by NOAA, but you nitnoids keep leaning on that as empirical proof, even though the hurricane seasons have only been weak since 2005.

How about the empirical evidence sited on this blog? Alarmists ignore the evidence that points towards normal climate variation and only embrace bits and pieces that back up their stupid theory.

We are in big trouble. Dumb people have elected a scientifically dumb man to do dumb things to our dumb asses.

Obama addresses global warming summit - 2008 Presidential Campaign Blog - Political Intelligence - Boston.com:

Through the magic of video, President-elect Barack Obama will encourage governors and others today to tackle global warming -- an issue he highlighted during the campaign.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California is hosting a two-day summit, drawing several fellow governors plus more than 600 environmental officials and activists from around the world.

Obama is pledging to make America more energy independent and to also slash carbon emissions by focusing on alternative sources such as wind and solar. He is also vowing to work more cooperatively with other nations on climate change.

"Few challenges facing America -- and the world – are more urgent than combating climate change," he says in the video. "The science is beyond dispute and the facts are clear. Sea levels are rising. Coastlines are shrinking. We’ve seen record drought, spreading famine, and storms that are growing stronger with each passing hurricane season. Climate change and our dependence on foreign oil, if left unaddressed, will continue to weaken our economy and threaten our national security.

Dr. Hansen publishes bogus "hottest ever" October temperatures

Mostly speaks for itself. Read all about Hansen and Gore's collective stupidity throughout this blog. Read all about the empirical evidence pointing out how darn cold it is right now on Our Good Mother, the Earth.

Turn off AGW advocates like CNN, MSNBC, and other stupid lefty bullcrap and read here and elsewhere on the Internet to find out what you're not being shown or told.

The world has never seen such freezing heat - Telegraph:

A surreal scientific blunder last week raised a huge question mark about the temperature records that underpin the worldwide alarm over global warming. On Monday, Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), which is run by Al Gore's chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, and is one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures, announced that last month was the hottest October on record.

This was startling. Across the world there were reports of unseasonal snow and plummeting temperatures last month, from the American Great Plains to China, and from the Alps to New Zealand. China's official news agency reported that Tibet had suffered its "worst snowstorm ever". In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years.

So what explained the anomaly? GISS's computerised temperature maps seemed to show readings across a large part of Russia had been up to 10 degrees higher than normal. But when expert readers of the two leading warming-sceptic blogs, Watts Up With That and Climate Audit, began detailed analysis of the GISS data they made an astonishing discovery. The reason for the freak figures was that scores of temperature records from Russia and elsewhere were not based on October readings at all. Figures from the previous month had simply been carried over and repeated two months running.

The error was so glaring that when it was reported on the two blogs - run by the US meteorologist Anthony Watts and Steve McIntyre, the Canadian computer analyst who won fame for his expert debunking of the notorious "hockey stick" graph - GISS began hastily revising its figures. This only made the confusion worse because, to compensate for the lowered temperatures in Russia, GISS claimed to have discovered a new "hotspot" in the Arctic - in a month when satellite images were showing Arctic sea-ice recovering so fast from its summer melt that three weeks ago it was 30 per cent more extensive than at the same time last year.

SD already with 4 feet of snow

Here you go. Happy Global Warming, dolt alarmists! Winter yet? Nope. More mounting evidence can be perused here.

South Dakota Hit With 4 Feet of Snow:

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A wintry blast of punishing wind and close to 4 feet of snow in places pummeled the Northern Plains on Thursday, stranding unknown numbers of motorists for a day or more and knocking out power to thousands. State officials said some people could be without power for days, but they had a simple message for anyone thinking of trying to drive in western South Dakota's blizzard: Don't. "This is a dangerous storm," Gov. Mike Rounds told reporters in a telephone conference call Thursday evening. "Western South Dakota is basically under a no-travel advisory."

Gore: Imminent, rapidly growing threat "rescue" needed?

M F283C09F0E6Ff68D4E85E179729E0C42Here's where we find out if we truly are a nation of idiots. Most Americans don't believe global warming is a threat (and Britons definitely don't believe), but we can see that it's being shoved down our throats anyway. Gore got what he wanted (he was going to get it with Obama or McCain): A sympathetic ear and a true believer in governmental intervention.

Problem is that there is NOTHING to intervene against, except to protect Gore's pervasive environmental empire.

Meanwhile, temperatures in 2008 have been BELOW NORMAL TO WELL BELOW NORMAL.

01 10 2008 Dvtemprank Pg

Op-Ed Contributor - The Climate for Change - NYTimes.com:

THE inspiring and transformative choice by the American people to elect Barack Obama as our 44th president lays the foundation for another fateful choice that he — and we — must make this January to begin an emergency rescue of human civilization from the imminent and rapidly growing threat posed by the climate crisis.

Gore: Obama-electing youth could save Earth?

Puh-leaze! Oh Lord Messiah Obama...please save us from the nonexistent threat of manmade global warming, so that Al Gore's stupidity can be vindicated.

Young people are the most likely to be taken in by the scam, however, because they haven't lived long enough to smell a scam artist when they see one.

Right now, only the dufuses of the world still believe in this global warming nonsense.

Is Al Gore making a move now to eventually proclaim that the Internet he "invented" is now going to save Earth? LOL!

Internet revolution that elected Obama could save Earth: Gore:

Former US vice president Al Gore said an Internet revolution carrying Barack Obama to the White House should now focus its power on stopping Earth's climate crisis.

The one-time presidential contender turned environmental champion told Web 2.0 Summit goers in San Francisco Friday that technology has provided tools to save the planet while creating jobs and stimulating the crippled economy.

"The young people who have been inspired by Barack Obama's campaign and the movement that powered Barack Obama's campaign want a purpose," Gore said.

"One of the reasons we were all thrilled Tuesday night is it was pretty obvious this was a collectively intelligent decision."

The Internet's critical role in Democrat Obama's victory in the presidential race against Republican John McCain was a "great blow for victory" in addressing a "democracy crisis" stifling action against climate change, Gore said.
