Warming Debate Fed By Falling Temperatures

You really have to go read this article for yourself and witness all the times throughout where the believers make arguments that can easily be rebutted from the opposite position. For instance, the article at one point states: "Natural variability can account for the slowing of the global mean temperature rise we have seen," said Jeff Knight, a climate expert at the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research in Exeter, England. Interesting. This means that natural variability can also ACCOUNT FOR ANY WARMING that has been seen! Why doesn't the author of this article take that obvious step and ask the "climate expert" moron this most obvious question? Well, because the press is, by and large, for all this stupidity. They want to keep the pipe dream alive.

What's really important to note is that THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY REAL DEBATE on global warming. Debate has been shutdown by Al Gore's declaration that debate is over, and that the consensus has spoken. Any scientist worth her weight will tell you that science doesn't operate according to proclamations of a political hack. Consensus in science is irrelevant. Al Gore in science is irrelevant. Global warming as a scientific reality is irrelevant.

WASHINGTON — Has Earth's fever broken?

Official government measurements show that the world's temperature has cooled a bit since reaching its most recent peak in 1998.

That's given global warming skeptics new ammunition to attack the prevailing theory of climate change. The skeptics argue that the current stretch of slightly cooler temperatures means that costly measures to limit carbon dioxide emissions are ill-founded and unnecessary.

Proposals to combat global warming are "crazy" and will "destroy more than a million good American jobs and increase the average family's annual energy bill by at least $1,500 a year," the Heartland Institute, a conservative research organization based in Chicago, declared in full-page newspaper ads earlier this summer. "High levels of carbon dioxide actually benefit wildlife and human health," the ads asserted.

Many scientists agree, however, that hotter times are ahead. A decade of level or slightly lower temperatures is only a temporary dip to be expected as a result of natural, short-term variations in the enormously complex climate system, they say.

Drop Cap and Trade Say Democratic Senators

Yay! Let's here it for the moderates! Yes, cap and trade is a huge problem, with the fact that it's stupid being the first among many sub-problems. I won't even go into the endless problems with the myth of carbon-induced climate change (that's what most of this blog is for). I'm all for renewable energy, because it will leave the radical Arabs without our money. But lying and saying that carbon is heating the Earth is wrong, stupid, and a lie.

Aug. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Senate should abandon efforts to pass legislation curbing greenhouse-gas emissions this year and concentrate on a narrower bill to require use of renewable energy, four Democratic lawmakers say.

“The problem of doing both of them together is that it becomes too big of a lift,” Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas said in an interview last week. “I see the cap-and-trade being a real problem.”

The resistance by Lincoln and her Senate colleagues undercuts President Barack Obama’s effort to win passage of legislation that would cap carbon dioxide emissions and establish a market for trading pollution allowances, said Peter Molinaro, the head of government affairs for Midland, Michigan- based Dow Chemical Co., which supports the measure.

Australian Senate Rejects Cap and Trade

Let's hope the morons in our own country come to their senses too. As the health care debate shows, these fools aren't playing with a full deck and could care less what you pathetic obstacles think about their moves to consolidate power.

Aug. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Australia’s Senate rejected the government’s climate-change legislation, forcing Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to amend the bill or call an early election.

Senators voted 42 to 30 against the law, which included plans for a carbon trading system similar to one used in Europe. Australia, the world’s biggest coal exporter, was proposing to reduce greenhouse gases by between 5 percent and 15 percent of 2000 levels in the next decade.

U.N. Secretary: We Have Four Months To Secure Planet

Time for yet another prediction in a long line of FAILED predictions from stupid oracles. Can anyone see how dumb this is yet? I know the tide is turning against this global warming fad, but...COME ON! Wake up people!

Korea should now go further.

It should make itself a model of international engagement on climate change. Climate change, as all previous speakers have already stated, is the fundamental threat to humankind.

It exacerbates all of the problems we face: poverty, disease, hunger and insecurity. It impedes progress toward the Millennium Development Goals. It deepens the food and energy crises.

That is the harsh reality.

But there is an upside: if we combat climate change with a sustainable, low-emissions approach, just like we see around us in Songdo, we can change the way countries develop.

We can foster a green economy and green growth.

***

We have just four months. Four months to secure the future of our planet.

Any agreement must be fair, effective, equitable and comprehensive, and based on science. And it must help vulnerable nations adapt to climate change.

Ladies and gentlemen,

The science is clear. We know what to do and we know how to do it. Songdo shows us the way.

Another Senator Steps In Pile of Poop

Here's another "brilliant" legislator showing why she should stick to things like screwing up health care. The whole hurricane-warming myth has even been debunked by NOAA and Dr. Gray, and all recent hurricane seasons have been weak while the predictions were dire.

Yet, these folks can't help but blame normal weather occurrences--even those that haven't manifested--on a lie, because propping up the myth will bear some benefit. This time it's not Gore or Kerry...it's Senator Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.). She must be right, because she "feels it when she's flying." That's real science, folks.

Meanwhile, empirical evidence shows that Michigan--her home state--has had a record COLD July. She must not feel that because she's in D.C., surrounded by a bunch of hot air from her fellow global warming cult members.

"Climate change is very real," she confessed as she embraced cap and trade's massive tax increase on Michigan industry - at the same time claiming, against all the evidence, that it would not lead to an increase in manufacturing costs or energy prices. "Global warming creates volatility. I feel it when I'm flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes."

People Believe LESS in Global Warming

The scam has less and less believers. People are NOT stupid when they see what the weather has been like. Polls worldwide continue to show what's happening to this boondoggle--people aren't buying it anymore. Liberals better hurry up if they want to suck the marrow out of this sham.

"Right now, Americans are more concerned about the economy than the environment," said Frank Newport, editor-in-chief of the Gallup Poll. "The politician who says, 'I'm going to cripple jobs and shut down factories' would be in trouble in this economy."

Here's what Gallup found: The number of Americans who say the media have exaggerated global warming jumped to a record 41 percent in 2009, up from 35 percent a year ago. The most marked increase came among political independents, whose ranks of doubters swelled from 33 percent to 44 percent. Republican doubters grew from 59 percent to 66 percent, while Democratic skeptics stayed at around 20 percent.

What's more, fewer Americans believe the effects of global warming have started to occur: 53 percent see signs of a hotter planet, down from 61 percent in 2008. Global warming placed last among eight environmental concerns Gallup asked respondents to rank, with water pollution landing the top spot.

Congressmen and Spouses Study "Global Warming" (and Vacation)

And this surprises who? When Congress wants to "study" something, why do the taxpayers always end up with a bill for what constitutes a vacation?

WASHINGTON -- When 10 members of Congress wanted to study climate change, they did more than just dip their toes into the subject: They went diving and snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. They also rode a cable car through the Australian rain forest, visited a penguin rookery and flew to the South Pole.

The 11-day trip -- with six spouses traveling along as well -- took place over New Year's 2008. Details are only now coming to light as part of a Wall Street Journal analysis piecing together the specifics of the excursion.

Cloud Ship to Deflect Sun's Rays

Here's another stupid solution. I love these dumb things. Read, laugh, and enjoy. Wait!!! I thought the sun wasn't responsible for global warming!?! It was CO2 trapping the sun's heat that was already here, right? And there's more! Water vapor is the biggest greenhouse gas there is--even bigger than CO2, and so we're going to spew more of it into the air?

The "cloud ships" are favoured among a series of schemes aimed at altering the climate which have been weighed up by a leading think-tank.
The project, which is being worked on by rival US and UK scientists, would see 1,900 wind-powered ships ply the oceans sucking up seawater and spraying minuscule droplets of it out through tall funnels to create large white clouds.

These clouds, it is predicted, would reflect around one or two per cent of the sunlight that would otherwise warm the ocean, thereby cancelling out the greenhouse effect caused by Carbon Dioxide emissions.

Now, Quieter Hurricane Season Predicted

I admire Dr. Gray, because he's a global warming skeptic, but he's unwittingly proving my point about scientists and their predictions about our complex climate systems. This, of course, involves El Nino again. But review the last few years where busy hurricane seasons were predicted, only to remain in the tepid and weak.

The liberal enviro-psychos love to blames hurricanes on global warming, but hurricanes haven't really showed up since Katrina as predicted. Al Gore heavily implied in his dumb Power Point movie that Katrina was caused by global warming. We can see where that little bit of empirical pootage ended up.

Frankly, Dr. Gray is considered the foremost hurricane expert, but his predictions have been lackluster in the last several years. This should give everyone pause about the scientists predicting global warming doom one-hundred years into the future; it should definitely make you question idiots like Prince Charles and Al Gore, two NON-SCIENTISTS who issue climate predictions all the time.

MIAMI (AFP) - Weather experts on Wednesday reduced the number of projected hurricanes in the north Atlantic this season to four, two of them major hurricanes with winds above 178 kilometers (111 miles) per hour.

After one of the calmest starts to the hurricane season in a decade, the experts from Colorado State University said the development of an El Nino effect in the Pacific had caused them to scale back their projections for the Atlantic.
