Poll: Germans Less Worried About Warming After Record Winter

Har har. Note how the article makes the distinction that 'weather has nothing to do with climate.' Of course, publications like this never make that distinction when they're trying to convince you that empirical weather events are THE RESULT of global warming (i.e., hurricanes, storms, floods, etc.).

Sorry media, but if you're going to claim weather is the result of warming in one instance and not indicative of warming in another, you're losing credibility. People aren't morons. You are. But not people (because you media morons aren't people...you're like stupid robots).

Germans are losing their fear of climate change, according to a survey, with just 42 percent worried about global warming.

It seems the long and chilly winter has taken its toll on climate change sensibilities despite the fact that weather has nothing to do with climate.

The latest figure is a clear drop from the 62 percent of Germans who said they were scared of such changes just last autumn.

The new survey, carried out by polling company Infratest for Der Spiegel magazine, showed a quarter of those questioned thought Germany would profit from climate change rather than be badly affected by it.

Scientists Turn To Hollywood to Prove Global Warming?

Wouldn't you think that scientists would simply rely on quality scientific data, ethical judgment, and truth to prove their theories? Well, since ethical scandals have rocked the very bedrock upon which global warming was constructed, faith and trust in the so-called consensus has been shaken in the public's mind.

Sensing this shaken faith in their flock (because global warming is the new religion of the left), scientists are turning to Hollywood to make their case. They're turning to a bunch of people who pretend for a living? You scientists don't need any help from pretenders; you've been pretending all along.

Maybe George Lucas' ILM can help you snow the public again (no pun intended).

You can see where the CSM falls; they use the oft-cited "consensus" in the form of "vast majority of scientists." I'm still waiting to hear just how MANY make up this pseudo-number of scientists. It's just become a mantra now...based on nothing.

The current climate-change furor has become the poster child for what happens when there’s a communications gap between scientists and the public. The vast majority of scientists see compelling evidence that the world’s climate is about to change significantly, and that the change is largely driven by human activity. Yet polls show public opinion becoming more skeptical about climate change.

Gore: Recent Northeast Storms Proof of Global Warming

Is anyone surprised by this windbag's claims? Everything, to him, is caused by global warming. It used to be that empirical weather events associated with excessive heat (e.g., droughts, hurricanes, ice melts, heat waves, etc.) were blamed on "global warming." Then "global warming" morphed into "manmade climate change" to allow for antithetical weather events (e.g., snow storms, record cold temperatures, etc.).

See the scam? No matter what the weather event--whether associated with cold or warm temperatures, it can be BLAMED on man's use of oil. So, what's Al's solution? His brand of alternate energy, of course, which means saps who buy those products and services will DIRECTLY feed Al Gore's coffers, as he is heavily invested in carbon trading and other global warming schemes.

Have fun being a sucker, America. There's one born every minute, and apparently the delivery rooms have been extremely busy in the last few decades.

If there’s a drought – it’s global warming. When there’s a hurricane – it’s global warming. If there are heavy snows or even blizzards – it’s somehow global warming. And amazingly, the latest round of rainy and windy weather in the Northeast, well that’s consistent with this phenomenon as well, so says former Vice President Al Gore.

Gore, the self-anointed climate change alarmist-in-chief, told supporters on a March 15 conference call that severe weather in certain regions of the country could be attributed to carbon in the atmosphere – including the recent rash of rainy weather.

Why You Should Question "Consensus" Scientists

So, "consensus" scientists' theories are unassailable, eh? No debating the undebateable? In this story, we see that scientists were shocked that any creature could live below 600 feet of ice in the Antarctic; this flew in the face of accepted, "consensus" opinion that only certain microbes were hearty enough to exist in such cold conditions. Just read the quote from Dr. Kim below for yourself.

If "consensus" scientists can be wrong about life in the Antarctic, the next question you should ask yourself is, "Could they be wrong about carbon's role in the climate?" Because they ARE WRONG.

Yes, Dr. Kim and Dr. Bindschadler. You guys think you know EVERYTHING (your quote), but YOU DO NOT. And what scientific team produced this bit of news? NASA, of course...the same organization that brings you the unquestionable Dr. James Hansen and his flawed global warming theories.

WASHINGTON -- In a surprising discovery about where higher life can thrive, scientists for the first time found a shrimp-like creature and a jellyfish frolicking beneath a massive Antarctic ice sheet.

Six hundred feet below the ice where no light shines, scientists had figured nothing much more than a few microbes could exist.

That is why a team from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration was surprised when they lowered a video camera to get the first long look at the underbelly of an ice sheet in Antarctica. A curious shrimp-like creature came swimming by and then parked itself on the camera's cable. Scientists also pulled up a tentacle they believe came from a foot-long jellyfish.

***

"It's pretty amazing when you find a huge puzzle like that on a planet where we thought we know everything," Kim said.

Poll: American Global Warming Concerns Decline Further

Of course, this poll only addresses the question about global warming overall. In other words, the poll answers the question about whether global warming is believed to be occurring. It’s a good question. Natural climate change seems to be pushing temperatures the other way, unless you believe the alarmists’ silly, revisionist excuses for why we’ve had several years of record-setting cold winters and summers.

I wonder, after proper education on all sides of scientific climate theory—including the skeptical views on CO2 and scientific data backing those views, whether the public would accept the core premise of global warming alarmists, which is really the only central issue in my opinion. That question is, “Do you think manmade CO2 is warming the Earth?”

Because global warming and global cooling, as part of natural climate variability, DO HAPPEN. That’s not at issue. The issue is whether capitalist-driven greenhouse gas emissions (i.e., CO2) are driving temperatures, and whether socialist solutions to offset capitalism and thus “decrease warming” (because oil is the lifeblood of worldwide economies) will really do anything except raise energy prices and harm economies (and we’ve seen multiple instances in the news where liberals have said we need to cool our economy to fight global warming).

In other words, only the leftiest of liberals seem unable to discern (actually they’re just pretending) the political connection to this so-called “science.” It’s clear in the data (and in the recent scandals – i.e., “hide the decline”) that CO2 may rise AFTER warming and that it eventually reaches a saturation point (i.e., the point at which it no longer has any warming properties on the atmosphere). So many aspects of real science are avoided in debate with the words “consensus says.”

PRINCETON, NJ -- Gallup's annual update on Americans' attitudes toward the environment shows a public that over the last two years has become less worried about the threat of global warming, less convinced that its effects are already happening, and more likely to believe that scientists themselves are uncertain about its occurrence. In response to one key question, 48% of Americans now believe that the seriousness of global warming is generally exaggerated, up from 41% in 2009 and 31% in 1997, when Gallup first asked the question.

IPCC Acknowledges Climategate?

So, the IPCC has “acknowledged Climategate”? I sincerely doubt it. Anyway, since they’re arranging their own review, one has to wonder how “unbiased” it will actually be? Here’s a prediction that will come true: Regardless of any critical findings by any panel that “independently” reviews the IPCC, I GUARANTEE you that this review panel will say, in effect, “This is in no way meant to imply that manmade CO2 DOES NOT cause warming. The vast majority of scientists still feel it does.” There WILL BE some statement to that effect in the review report, because these morons have all staked their reputations on making certain that manmade global warming is unquestioned.

That’s where the train comes off the tracks. Whatever they do with this review panel, it’s all window-dressing meant to “damage control” against the climate scandals and recent freezing weather. Sorry IPCC, but the cat is out of the bag. Americans now know that you are lying bungholes. I would call you scumbags, but that would be a disservice to bags of scum.

In the wake of errors, cover-ups and scandal, top United Nations officials will announce Wednesday a review of its Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Ban Ki-moon, the U.N. secretary general, and Rajendra Pachauri, the chairman of the IPCC, are set to announce that the InterAcademy Council (IAC), an organization representing scientists from around the world, will head up the review.

More Hurricane Predictions

We’ve seen how these hurricane predictions have turned out over the past few years...not very good. They’re just like the overall climate predictions we’ve seen...full of crap.

MIAMI -- AccuWeather.com said Wednesday it expects five hurricanes to hit the U.S. coast in the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane season, which begins on the first day in June, Reuters reported.

The private weather forecaster predicts at least two of them will be major hurricanes.

"The forecast is calling for a much more active 2010 season with above-normal threats on the U.S. coastline," AccuWeather.com said, according to Reuters.

Breaking it to You, Gently

How do the Marxists get you to accept job losses and tough economic burdens due to their phony climate change laws and requirements? They break the news to you early, of course. Here we have lefty psychos out in CA letting everyone know ahead of time that there will be jobs lost due to energy cost increases, and these increases will be driven by “aggressive” climate change laws. And all one needs to do is actually look at all the climate scandals and, maybe...just maybe, consider the voice of a skeptical scientist to realize that we’re all being taken for suckers. If we let these assholes get away with it then WE ARE SUCKERS.

California is likely to see modest job losses in the near term from its aggressive climate change policy due to higher energy costs and other factors, the state's independent Legislative Analyst's Office said. Skip related content

The budget watchdog was responding to a request by Republican state Senator Dave Cogdill to study the effects of California's 2006 climate change law, which mandates changes to cut greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020.

California's environmental vanguard approach is being hotly debated in the state ahead of a November gubernatorial race and in the midst of an economic downturn that has pushed unemployment to recent records. Many other states and the federal government are watching closely.

IMF Making Climate Change Money-grab

It’s so obvious (to all but the most leftist and ignorant) that this manmade climate change scam is nothing more than a means to organize world governance. It’s a boondoggle that politicians, certain scientists, and certain businesses are more than willing to exploit for their own gain.

Scandal-ridden and unable to stand up under its own feckless, pseudo-scientific weight, anthropogenic global warming theory is dead, but certain moronic factions will hang on like ticks until every last drop of blood is gone.

NAIROBI, Kenya — The head of the International Monetary Fund on Monday proposed a plan for the world's governments to pool together to raise money needed to adapt to climate change, a rare step for an organization that normally does not develop environmental policies.

IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn said the Fund is concerned about the huge amount of funding needed and the effect that will have on the global economy. He added that the proposal may help efforts to reach a binding agreement on climate change later this year.

States Resist Obama's EPA CO2 Regulation

Not to be outdone by the states who plan to resist Thulsa Doom Obama's end-around methods avoiding democracy with regard to government-provided healthcare, several US states are going to attack Obama's use of the EPA to regulate CO2, since scandals have convinced Americans of the hoax.

WASHINGTON, March 19 (Reuters) - At least 15 U.S. states have sued the Environmental Protection Agency seeking to stop it from issuing rules controlling greenhouse gas emissions until it reexamines whether the pollution harms human health.

Florida, Indiana, South Carolina and at least nine other states filed the petitions in the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, states said.

They joined petitions filed last month by Virginia, Texas and Alabama.

The Obama administration has long said it would attack greenhouse gas emissions with EPA regulation if Congress failed to pass a climate bill.

U.K. Government Criticized for Nursery Rhyme Fear Ads

Speaks for itself; these assholes are going after our children. People have had enough of this fear-mongering bullshit propaganda.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled that the adverts – which were based on the children's poems Jack and Jill and Rub-A-Dub-Dub – made exaggerated claims about the threat to Britain from global warming.
In definitely asserting that climate change would cause flooding and drought the adverts went beyond mainstream scientific consensus, the watchdog said.

H1N1: U.N. Predicted “Killer”

The U.N. IPCC’s trouble over climate change exaggerations, doomsday predictions, and outright lies is nothing new for the world governing body. Just look at the recent “Swine Flu” fiasco. “Experts” within the U.N. World Health Organization, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, and even Obama’s own Health Secretary were stoking fear and proclaiming that the next plague was upon us. Just get a load of some of these headlines:

Swine flu: 'All of humanity under threat', WHO warns

H1N1 deaths could hit 90,000 this flu season

Swine flu cannot be stopped as 100,000 new cases per day feared

Experts predict one in five people will be infected

H1N1 flu outbreak may hit 1/3rd of world's population

What happened? Nothing of consequence, just like a lot of the U.N.'s global warming predictions that ALL INVOLVE FEAR. The mortality rate didn’t even come close to a normal flu season, which I actually predicted as it was happening.

So, why are ‘really smart’ people in the world ready to drink the Kool-Aid for these proven liars over ‘manmade climate change,’ which doesn’t exist? Even after numerous recent scandals and admissions proving the hoax? Can someone answer? Anyone? Al Gore?

If you need more fear like you got with Y2K, swine flu, and so on...check out the GASP! series and read the warmlist.

Now, after raging through college campuses and communities last summer and fall, cases of the new H1N1 swine flu virus have dwindled to a trickle, and run-of-the-mill seasonal flu has barely made an appearance. Not one state reported widespread flu illness to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the week ended Feb. 20, the latest data available. The percentage of all doctors' visits by patients with influenza-like symptoms has dropped from a high of 7.8% in late October—the largest peak since the agency began surveillance in 1997—to 1.8% in late February, well below the norm for flu season.

Al Gore Emerges From Hiding (sort of)

Al Gore has been keeping a low-profile ever since the mounting climate scandals that occurred before and after Copenhagen, where he was embarrassed by a typical alarmist exaggeration that was, once again, exposed as a lie by climate skeptics (a.k.a., "deniers"). He's been challenged for years to debate credible authorities and scientists on CO2's role in climate warming, but he usually manages to elude any forum that isn't tightly controlled by his thugs and political operatives.

He was shredded by Apple's stock holders just the other day for his global warming orthodoxy in the face of all these scandals, even though he was reelected to Apple's board (no surprise there...Apple is run by left-leaning folks out on the Left Coast).

So, feeling the need to respond to all the criticism, what does Al Gore do? He writes an OP-ED piece for the liberal New York Times, of course. Since no one can answer him directly in an opinion piece, I will take this opportunity to respond to his bullshit (trite and repetitive) below, point-by-point. And there's no way I could do a better job than some of the great skeptical scientists out there. But here goes...

But unfortunately, the reality of the danger we are courting has not been changed by the discovery of at least two mistakes in the thousands of pages of careful scientific work over the last 22 years by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. In fact, the crisis is still growing because we are continuing to dump 90 million tons of global-warming pollution every 24 hours into the atmosphere — as if it were an open sewer.

[From Op-Ed Contributor - We Can’t Wish Away Climate Change - NYTimes.com]

Just two mistakes? Careful scientific work? Carbon is global warming pollution that's making our atmosphere into a sewer? Sorry, Al, but you're ignoring the mound of scandals recently revealed. There weren't just a few mistakes. There were many, along with multiple instances of unethical scientific practices.

But the scientific enterprise will never be completely free of mistakes. What is important is that the overwhelming consensus on global warming remains unchanged.

Hey, thanks for finally admitting that there are mistakes and errors in the evidence that, according to you, proves "thuh duh-bate is over." What's important to examine is the nature of these "mistakes." These aren't just mistakes; they're blatant attempts to politicize a supposedly scientific report by scattering it with "evidence" that amounts to nothing more than propaganda and fear.

There's that word consensus again. That's Al Gore's (and many alarmists') favorite tactic of deflection when attempting to avoid debate. But the 'overwhelming consensus' is a lie. Even if it was true, consensus opinion has nothing to do with real science, as history has shown us again and again. The maverick in science (like Galileo) is usually proved correct when confronting the consensus's foregone conclusion.

And furthermore (if there were a consensus), does anyone out there REALLY believe this group of politically-connected believers remains UNCHANGED? The so-called consensus is running for the hills because of all the scrutiny. On the contrary, the "consensus" is QUITE changed, Al.

[The panel's scientists] probably underestimated the range of sea-level rise in this century...

That's not what this article just said. Scientists have just withdrawn some of the estimates of supposed human-induced sea-rising. More fallout from the scandals, because now people are paying attention and not just accepting what these climate fear mongers say anymore.

For example, January was seen as unusually cold in much of the United States. Yet from a global perspective, it was the second-hottest January since surface temperatures were first measured 130 years ago.

Actually, the idiots said this January was the warmest on-record...not second warmest (get your facts straight, Al). Temperature records of 130 years should be, to any scientist, a problem when discerning longterm climate patterns and using them to make predictions. First, how accurate were the records of 130 years ago? They're not even accurate today (see reasons why here). Second, it's a statistical no-no to look at such a small range of time (130 years) to pronounce climate doom, considering the climate history of Earth spans of 4.5-billion years.

Similarly, even though climate deniers have speciously argued for several years that there has been no warming in the last decade, scientists confirmed last month that the last 10 years were the hottest decade since modern records have been kept.

Really? Did the alarmist scientists confirm this assertion the same way they've unethically confirmed everything else related to global warming? We can see that they're track record of unethical behavior runs deep and goes back at least 10 years.

Since we've already inserted the obligatory, debate-avoiding word consensus, let's make sure we use the Holocaust-doubting, ad hominem rejoinder and call us climate skeptics "deniers." Yes, a certain subset of alarmist scientists did just, laughably, make the claim that 2000 through 2009 was the warmest decade "on-record." However, disgraced IPCC scientist Phil Jones (CRU scandal) recently admitted that there has been no warming in 15 years, and he even--FINALLY--admitted that there was probably a global medieval warm period and even other earlier periods of global warming in Earth's history that preceded the industrial age. Therefore, the Earth has warmed in the distant past for reasons other than those extolled by you, Al, oh great 'creator of Internet.'

...yet scientists have long pointed out that warmer global temperatures have been increasing the rate of evaporation from the oceans, putting significantly more moisture into the atmosphere — thus causing heavier downfalls of both rain and snow in particular regions, including the Northeastern United States.

This is the warming-causes-cooling-and-warming tactic used in climate revisionism, and not ALL scientists have agreed with this. There are many problems with this assertion, but let's just take one that flies in the face of something Al just said a few paragraphs ago. If increased evaporation due to warming has caused all this darn record snow (and record freezing cold), rain, and tropical cyclones we've seen, wouldn't that increased evaporation also prevent the seas from rising? (Which, itself, has already been debunked.) The problem is that you and your ilk have long used empirical evidence when it suits your propaganda needs (i.e., supposed empirical weather events that you associate with climate warming). When antithetical weather appears, you either claim that La Nina is involved (that's masking warming) or you ridiculously claim that the cold weather is being caused by warming. That's what I call climate revisionism. It's called "global warming"...not "regional warming, when it suits my theory."

Here is what scientists have found is happening to our climate: man-made global-warming pollution traps heat from the sun and increases atmospheric temperatures. These pollutants — especially carbon dioxide — have been increasing rapidly with the growth in the burning of coal, oil, natural gas and forests, and temperatures have increased over the same period. Almost all of the ice-covered regions of the Earth are melting — and seas are rising. Hurricanes are predicted to grow stronger and more destructive, though their number is expected to decrease. Droughts are getting longer and deeper in many mid-continent regions, even as the severity of flooding increases. The seasonal predictability of rainfall and temperatures is being disrupted, posing serious threats to agriculture. The rate of species extinction is accelerating to dangerous levels.

But Al...is there a such thing as a 'saturation point'? Is there a point where increasing CO2 no longer makes a difference (i.e., holds in no more heat)? There are scientists (you haven't talked with) who agree that there is such a physical state in the atmosphere. The fact is that there is no evidence that current CO2 levels (rising though they are) are contributing to warming. Even the IPCC's erroneous, award-winning report only allots that CO2 is "probably" causing observed warming. "Probably" in science DOES NOT cut it. CO2 is a minor greenhouse gas STILL, even in its presently increasing concentration. Also, our data show that tropospheric warming (i.e., in the atmosphere) has not occurred (increasing CO2 has not warmed this part of the atmosphere as predicted); all of the "warming" has been attributed to the surface level, and the temperature collection methods at the surface are problematic.

CO2 is a 'pollutant'? You're exhaling it right now with your big, fat head, Al. That means you're contaminating my atmosphere! Never mind that plants MUST HAVE CO2 to provide us with O2; even grade school science students can understand photosynthesis.

Extinctions have NOT accelerated. The last part of this bullshit paragraph falls back onto the same trite fear tactics. See the GASP! series and warmlist if you want to scare yourself to death; you can read about the THOUSANDS of ills attributed to manmade warming. Once you read them all, you'll start giggling to yourself if you have half a brain, because it's obvious how much of an overreach it all is.

The common denominator of Al's proselytizing is FEAR. Everything he writes or states is DRIPPING with fear. If you need to hear more fear on animals, read our Animal Death Watch series too.

So, where has Al Gore been? Well, just read the articles. Welcome back, Al. We DID NOT miss your stupid crap.

Al Gore won a Nobel Prize and an Oscar for his film, An Inconvenient Truth. But in the last three months, as global warming has gone from a scientific near-certitude to the subject of satire, Gore -- the public face of global warming -- has been silent on the topic.

The former vice president apparently finds it inconvenient even to answer calls to testify before the U.S. Senate. You can call him Al . . . but he won't call back.

[From FOXNews.com - You Can Call Him Al ... But Al Won't Call You Back]

Al Gore has been found. The former vice president and green guru has been MIA since the end of December, but he cropped up to be abused at the Apple stockholders meeting in Cupertino, Calif. Gore has been missing conveniently during the same period where climate scientists have come under increased scrutiny for bogus claims, doctored science and use of propaganda. Gore, the Nobel Peace Prize and Oscar winner was last seen on CBS in late December. While the TV outlets have been running archival footage of the climate advocate, he hasn’t been interviewed on air throughout the controversy.

He’s still been on the receiving end of many jokes during that time. Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said on Twitter: “It's going to keep snowing in D.C. until Al Gore cries ‘uncle.’” GOP Sen. James Inhofe’s grandkids built an igloo on the National Mall, naming it “Al Gore’s New Home.”

Now even Apple shareholders are unhappy with the Goreacle, delivering “harsh comments about former Vice President Al Gore’s record,” according to CNET. One shareholder said Gore shouldn’t be reelected to the Apple board, saying Gore “has become a laughingstock. The glaciers have not melted,” reported CNET. Gore didn’t respond directly, but his spot in the front row indicates his hibernation may be ending.

Sagan's "Baloney Kit" Generates Debate

Interesting banter going on between some alarmists and myself on the old "Baloney Detection Kit" post; come on by and read it for yourself. Liberals pay attention when you use the words of someone like Galileo, Carl Sagan or Jon Stewart to insult their orthodoxy. And they don't like it. So there's no end to the contorting required to preserve belief in their little sphere of green harmony.

Finally, some DEBATE! Since Al Gore won't debate, it's nice that his minions will, though most do so anonymously.

CO2's Role in Warming Unclear: China

So, China (who has had its share of recent record cold weather) says CO2's role isn't clear but act to cut emissions anyway?

What's really surprising about this story isn't the bit about China, who--having gotten a taste of capitalistic success--isn't about to give up on oil. What's really surprising (or not really surprising) is that Reuters still insists that "most scientists" have the view the CO2 is the culprit in global warming. And that's simply NOT TRUE. That's the BS lie with which our mainstream media continues trying to brainwash us, but where's their evidence that most scientists feel this way? Where's their poll of 100% of the world's scientists to show that >50% believe CO2 is causing warming? There isn't such a poll to demonstrate this claimed consensus. I, however, can point you to an online petition where >31,000 scientists believe CO2 is NOT warming the planet. Where's Reuters' evidence to back up their "most scientists" propaganda claim?

* Cause of global warming not clear, top negotiator says

* World should act to cut carbon emissions anyway

* U.S. must not shirk its responsibilities

By Emma Graham-Harrison

BEIJING, March 10 (Reuters) - China’s top climate negotiator said on Wednesday that the cause of global warming was still not clear but the problems it was creating were so serious that the world must anyway act to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Xie Zhenhua, vice-chairman of the powerful National Development and Reform Commission, also warned the United States it should not use domestic divisions over climate change as an excuse to pass its responsibilities off onto other countries.

“There are still two different viewpoints in the scientific field about the cause of warming,” Xie told a news conference on the sidelines of the annual session of China’s largely rubber-stamp parliament.

Barcelona: Heaviest Snow in 25 Years

Oh, that's right...this empirical data is PROOF of global warming. Until there's no record snowfall...then THAT will be proof of global warming. Get the picture? Al Gore does.

Thousands of commuters were trapped in trains as the blizzards struck with many having to be evacuated to sports halls. Flights were cancelled, schools closed and the entire Barcelona region saw major disruption to its road and rail network. The snow storms that have hit areas across Europe are the worst recorded in 25 years. On the Spanish border with France thousands of lorries were left stranded in sub zero temperatures after 40 roads were blocked by snow over a metre (3ft) deep.

I'm Not the Only One Noticing, Al Gore

Looks like I'm not the only one noticing that Al Gore is ignoring his own stupidity...but he's doing so for the sake of his bank account, so maybe he's not so dumb after all (he hopes we are all dumb).

In a long op-ed piece for The New York Times the other day, Gore cranked up the doomsday rhetoric. Human beings, he warned, “face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.’’ His 1,900-word essay made no mention of his financial interest in promoting such measures - Gore has invested heavily in carbon-offset markets, electric vehicles, and other ventures that would profit handsomely from legislation curbing the use of fossil fuels, and is reportedly poised to become the world’s first “carbon billionaire.’’ However, he did mention “global-warming pollution’’ no fewer than four times, declaring that “our grandchildren would one day look back on us as a criminal generation’’ if we don’t move decisively to reduce it.

Methane Released After Warming? CO2 Also?

They're losing the battle. So what do they do? Abandon CO2 as the boogeyman, or at least imply that our increasing CO2 has released long-trapped methane. But wait...if methane can be released from trapped ice during warming periods, this means that CO2 can ALSO be released. And we've seen that atmospheric CO2 increases tend to follow warming...not the other way around.

Don't trust these clowns. They are stained by scandal and they approach climate science with a preordained outcome; they never entertain or propose other theories. There is dissension among scientists (and there a lot of skeptical scientists contrary to what you've been told). Remember Carl Sagan's Baloney Detection Kit.

Concerns about global warming have centered on rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but scientists note that methane can be 30 times more effective at trapping heat than carbon dioxide.

Alarmists Want To 'Gut Credibility' of Skeptics

These so-called 'scientists' are just clueless. They're sitting atop scandal after scandal, including the IPCC report that is CHOCK FULL of political BS (not science), and they're going to 'fight back against political skeptics.' Sorry clowns, but in many instances you're fighting back against scientific skeptics (like myself), who are tired of seeing you hijack science to advance a world government takeover of environmental policy (and thus, economies...because as environmental policies advance, economics are harmed).

Undaunted by a rash of scandals over the science underpinning climate change, top climate researchers are plotting to respond with what one scientist involved said needs to be "an outlandishly aggressively partisan approach" to gut the credibility of skeptics.

In private e-mails obtained by The Washington Times, climate scientists at the National Academy of Sciences say they are tired of "being treated like political pawns" and need to fight back in kind. Their strategy includes forming a nonprofit group to organize researchers and use their donations to challenge critics by running a back-page ad in the New York Times.

Gore to Get Honorary Degree

That's about the only kind he deserves. Hopefully, students will protest going to hear this moron speak, but I surmise that there are a lot of liberals at UT, even though it's in a state that WOULD NOT vote for Al Gore for president.

MARTIN, Tenn. - Former vice president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore will receive an honorary doctoral degree from the University of Tennessee.

The degree - an Honorary Doctor of Laws and Humane Letters in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology - will be given to Gore at the spring commencement exercises of the College of Arts and Sciences on May 14, where he will be the featured speaker.
