Maybe GE CEO Jeff Immelt's closeness to President Obama, and his broad support for Obama's agenda, had nothing to do with this exemption. Seems like the politics, fear campaigns, and brouhahas of the present day will always give way to the next generation of scams designed to implant further government regulation, oversight, and control. CHICAGO – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has dropped the artificial sweetener saccharin from its list of hazardous substances, the agency said on Tuesday.

The white crystalline powder used in diet drinks, chewing gum and juice was dubbed a potential cancer-causing agent in 1980. While a review by the National Toxicology Program and the International Agency for Research on Cancer cleared saccharin in the late 1990s, it has remained on the EPA's potential hazard list.

The state of Texas today sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in a federal appeals court in Washington DC, claiming four new regulations imposed by the EPA are based on the 'thoroughly discredited' findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and are 'factually flawed,' 1200 WOAI news reports.  

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott says the rules are illegal and if imposed, will cost Texans in higher energy costs and tens of thousands of lost jobs.  

"The state explained that the IPCC, and therefore the EPA, relied on flawed science to conclude that greenhouse emissions endanger public health and welfare," Abbott said. "Because the Administration predicated its Endangerment Finding on the IPCC's questionable facts, the state is seeking to prevent the EPA's new rules, and the economic harm that will result from these regulations, from being imposed on Texas employers, workers, and enforcement agencies."

Looks like cows are NOW being given a reprieve as co-culprits of global warming (not really "co-" because humans farm and then eat the cows...so it's still OUR fault), whereas we were once told that Al Gore's cow-chomping tendencies were the ultimate in global warming hypocrisy (so many examples of Gore's hypocrisy from which to choose). LOL! The article implies that CO2 is the most potent greenhouse gas, and that's a lie. Methane is far more potent. Water vapor...yes, water vapor...is the MOST potent greenhouse gas; CO2 is CHUMP-CHANGE compared to H2O.

I'm sure the EPA will declare H2O a public emergency soon.

"It's been generally assumed that if you increase livestock numbers you get a rise in emissions of nitrous oxide. This is not the case," he said.

Estimated nitrous oxide emissions from temperate grasslands in places like Inner Mongolia as well as vast swatches of the United States, Canada, Russia and China account for up a third of the total amount of the greenhouse gas produced every year. Nitrous oxide is the third most important greenhouse gas after carbon dioxide and methane.

But Dr Butterbach-Bahl pointed out that the study did not take into account the methane produced by the livestock or the carbon dioxide produced if soil erodes. He also pointed out that much of the red meat eaten in the western world if from intensively farmed animals in southern countries.

He said the study does not overturn the case for cutting down on red meat but shows grazing livestock is not always bad for global warming.

States Resist Obama's EPA CO2 Regulation

Not to be outdone by the states who plan to resist Thulsa Doom Obama's end-around methods avoiding democracy with regard to government-provided healthcare, several US states are going to attack Obama's use of the EPA to regulate CO2, since scandals have convinced Americans of the hoax.

WASHINGTON, March 19 (Reuters) - At least 15 U.S. states have sued the Environmental Protection Agency seeking to stop it from issuing rules controlling greenhouse gas emissions until it reexamines whether the pollution harms human health.

Florida, Indiana, South Carolina and at least nine other states filed the petitions in the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, states said.

They joined petitions filed last month by Virginia, Texas and Alabama.

The Obama administration has long said it would attack greenhouse gas emissions with EPA regulation if Congress failed to pass a climate bill.

Sen. Inhofe Calls for Inquiry Into 'Suppressed' Climate Change Report

Republicans are raising questions about why the EPA apparently dismissed an analyst's report questioning the science behind global warming.

A top Republican senator has ordered an investigation into the Environmental Protection Agency's alleged suppression of a report that questioned the science behind global warming.

The 98-page report, co-authored by EPA analyst Alan Carlin, pushed back on the prospect of regulating gases like carbon dioxide as a way to reduce global warming. Carlin's report argued that the information the EPA was using was out of date, and that even as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have increased, global temperatures have declined.

"He came out with the truth. They don't want the truth at the EPA," Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla, a global warming skeptic, told FOX News, saying he's ordered an investigation. "We're going to expose it."

Antarctic Melting? Not So Fast!

The Wilkins Ice Shelf in the Western Antarctic was alarmingly trumpeted in the news recently for its apparent melting, but the same article made no comment on the Eastern Antarctic WHICH IS GROWING. Once again, the media tries to spin stories by the facts they leave out—same continent with two different stories, and which side does the media jump on? The one that points to warming, of course. The story is the same in the Arctic; ice is getting thicker, not shrinking like some media stories have asserted and predicted.

In reality, the Antarctic Continent is cooling as a whole. But the EPA and other like-minded environmentalist fruitcakes and opportunists only have so much time remaining to get the maximum socialist benefit out of this scam.

Antarctic ice is growing, not melting away

Ice is expanding in much of Antarctica, contrary to the widespread public belief that global warming is melting the continental ice cap.

The results of ice-core drilling and sea ice monitoring indicate there is no large-scale melting of ice over most of Antarctica, although experts are concerned at ice losses on the continent's western coast.

Antarctica has 90 percent of the Earth's ice and 80 percent of its fresh water, The Australian reports. Extensive melting of Antarctic ice sheets would be required to raise sea levels substantially, and ice is melting in parts of west Antarctica. The destabilization of the Wilkins ice shelf generated international headlines this month.

WASHINGTON -- The White House is reviewing a proposed finding by the Environmental Protection Agency that global warming is a threat to public health and welfare.

Such a declaration would be the first step to regulating carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act and could have broad economic and environmental ramifications. It also would likely spur action by Congress to address climate change more broadly.

The White House acknowledged Monday that the EPA had transmitted its proposed finding on global warming to the Office of Management and Budget, but provided no details. It also cautioned that the Obama administration, which sees responding to climate change a top priority, nevertheless is ready to move cautiously when it comes to actually regulating greenhouse gases, preferring to have Congress act on the matter.

EPA May Require Factories to Report Warming Emissions

March 10 (Bloomberg) -- Chemical, steel, automobile and other energy-intensive factories would have to submit annual reports to the federal government on their greenhouse gas emissions under a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposal that lays a foundation for fighting global warming.

About 13,000 facilities that account for as much as 90 percent of greenhouse gas emissions would have to comply, the EPA said in a statement today. The first reports would be submitted in 2011 and cover emissions in 2010, according to the proposal. Car and engine makers would begin their reports for 2011 models.

The decision, which most likely would play out in stages over a period of months, would have a profound impact on transportation, manufacturing costs and how utilities generate power. It could accelerate the progress of energy and climate change legislation in Congress and form a basis for the United States' negotiating position at United Nations climate talks set for December in Copenhagen.

“The tax for dairy cows could be $175 per cow, and $87.50 per head of beef cattle. The tax on hogs would upwards of $20 per hog,” the release said. “Any operation with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs would have to obtain permits.”

Kate Galbraith, correspondent for The New York Times, noted on the Times’ “Green Inc.” blog that such a “proposal is far from being enacted” and that the “hysteria may be premature.”

But Rick Krause, senior director of congressional relations for the American Farm Bureau, warned it’s certainly feasible – especially based on the rhetoric of President-elect Barack Obama and the use of the EPA to combat global warming. Such action by an Obama administration would take an act of Congress for livestock to be exempt.

EPA Denies Texas' Request for Ethanol Waiver:

LUBBUCK, Texas — The Environmental Protection Agency has denied a request from Texas to temporarily reduce ethanol requirements for gasoline in hopes of bringing down corn prices.

Gov. Rick Perry called the decision "a mistake" and "bad public policy."

EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson spoke to Perry about his waiver request by phone Thursday, shortly before Johnson was to announce the agency's decision publicly, said the governor's spokeswoman, Allison Castle.

A federal energy bill passed in December requires that 9 billion gallons of ethanol be blended into gasoline from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, 2009. Perry asked the EPA in April to drop the Renewable Fuels Standard requirement to 4.5 billion gallons, saying demand for ethanol is raising corn prices for livestock producers and driving up food prices.

"I am greatly disappointed with the EPA's inability to look past the good intentions of this policy to see the significant harm it is doing to farmers, ranchers and American households," Perry said. "For the EPA to assert that this federal mandate is not affecting food prices not only goes against common sense, but every American's grocery bill.”

If you believe these fear-mongering idiotic stories then you believe that global warming is worse than any plague that has ever beleaguered mankind, because the warmlist and the GASP! series show just how stupid the "blame game" has become with alarmist scientists and their sycophants--the media. Kidney stones, cannibalism, extinctions of all sorts, increased infections, just to name a few. The list is long and sordid. And stupid.

All of these awful things are ascribed to anthropogenic global warming (AGW). Global warming is allegedly caused by increasing CO2 (still a minor greenhouse gas compared to water and methane), and anthropogenic CO2 increases have been attributed to Western-styled capitalism prevailing in the world (read “American-styled” capitalism). So, how do we cure all these ills? We hurt capitalism and all things capitalistic. Very simple solution. Harm capitalism and less CO2 is emitted; return more control to “government” to help “manage” CO2, and AGW will subside. Now you can see the truth of politics in play behind this supposed “scientific endeavor” to save the planet. So, it’s truly about politics, power, and profit (the 3 Ps), including believing scientists who need to continue their federally-funded climate research indefinitely in order demand government action. Quite a little scam they're all involved in together!

Open up epidemiological journals from 1998 (the so-called highest global mean temperature ever--which is statistically hilarious to assert) and peruse the data from then until now (a decade later). On almost all fronts, world health is IMPROVING. Mortality is not increasing; people ARE LIVING LONGER THAN EVER BEFORE. The mean lifespan for human beings is expanding, not shrinking. So how does that fact jibe with what this article is portending?

If there is warming (and there's not), it's actually IMPROVING OUR LIVES according to the epidemiological evidence. The theory espoused in this article is that the alleged period of warming (since before the "really warm" 1998)--and I do mean "ALLEGED"--has hurt human health, which is the opposite of the actual statistical evidence we have on-hand. For instance, in the United States alone, the adult mortality rate DROPPED 11 points for males and DROPPED 35 points for females from 1990 to 2006! (source: World Health Organization) That's nearly the entire decade since 1998, and as you can see HEALTH IS IMPROVING!!!

And climate history has shown that true warm periods do improve the health of populations and increase economic growth; just look at the Medieval Warm Period for your historical proof (a span of time climate alarmists would like you to forget about).

EPA experts detail global warming's health risks

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Government scientists detailed a rising death toll from heat waves, wildfires, disease and smog caused by global warming in an analysis the White House buried so it could avoid regulating greenhouse gases.

''Risk (to human health, society and the environment) increases with increases in both the rate and magnitude of climate change,'' scientists at the Environmental Protection Agency said. Global warming, they wrote, is ''unequivocal'' and humans are to blame.

The document suggests that extreme weather events and diseases carried by ticks and other organisms could kill more people as temperatures rise.

Allergies could worsen because climate change could produce more pollen. Smog, a leading cause of respiratory illness and lung disease, could become more severe in many parts of the country. At the same time, global warming could mean fewer illnesses and deaths due to cold.

And now a warning from Sen. Inhofe

We already know that liberals and certain conservatives want to hurt our economy to "fight global warming for our grandkids" Am I lying? Bill Clinton said it himself--read it and weep. Tulsa World: Inhofe: EPA too powerful, could damage economy:

WASHINGTON — While others criticized the Bush administration's inaction on greenhouse gases, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe warned Friday that it has put in place a scenario that will bankrupt the U.S. economy.

A key player in the years-long debate over climate change, the Oklahoma Republican agreed that using the Clean Air Act to put new regulations in place would be an unprecedented expansion of the Environmental Protection Agency's authority that would impact every household.

"Obviously the concept of regulating carbon dioxide under the Clean Air Act is flawed and the act must be amended by Congress," Inhofe said.

"Today's notice should concern all lawmakers; no one should want the EPA to exercise the kind of power and authority that the career staff at EPA contemplates."

Last month, he said, the Senate rejected a "cap-and-trade" proposal that would allow companies to buy or sell allowances depending on their level of pollution.

"It is ironic that the EPA has proposed an even more economically destructive scheme this close to that bill's demise," Inhofe said.

"If Congress does not act, then the resulting regulations could be the largest regulatory intrusion into Americans' personal lives, a nightmare scenario.

"Big Brother is alive and well in the career ranks at the EPA."
