CA Judge Halts Cap and Trade

Wow! Really?! Could someone involved in the government of California actually have a brain? I mean, I know some people who live in California who have brains...I even know some liberals out there with brains (who are just dimwits at politics and science). But one doesn't usually expect a government official--be they judge, congressman, or governor--to take too many conservative stances. It's "anything goes" out there on the left coast.

A San Francisco superior court judge has put California's sweeping plan to curb greenhouse gas pollution on hold, saying the state did not adequately evaluate alternatives to its cap-and-trade program.

In a 35-page decision, Judge Ernest H. Goldsmith said the Air Resources Board had failed to consider public comments on the proposed measures before adopting the plan, which affects a broad swath of the state's economy. In particular, the judge noted, officials gave short shrift to analyzing a carbon fee, or carbon tax, devoting a “scant two paragraphs to this important alternative” to a market-based trading system in their December 2008 plan.

Did CA Reverse Course on Crap-&-Tax?

No clue if California passed this or not, but I hope they reversed course. If they passed it then they give me hope that their state is not entirely stupid.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- If California were a country, it would be the world's 19th largest polluter. Recognizing that, a few years ago lawmakers here passed AB 32, a first in the nation 'cap and trade' type anti-global warming bill.

But come Tuesday, voters here have the opportunity to turn back the clock. Proposition 23 would stop the state's "Global Warming Solutions Act' from taking effect in January.

Proposition 23 would put a hold on the new emission standards until the state's unemployment rate drops to 5.5 percent or less for an entire year. The last time that occured was in the 1970s.

So Long, Crap-and-Tax

Looks like the proverbial CO2 poot winds have been taken out of these scam sails. Hallelujah!!!

The air has been taken out of the carbon trading market.

The only national carbon trading market in the U.S. will close its doors next month, due to stalled legislation in Congress and Republican gains in the midterm elections -- a major setback in efforts to regulate so-called greenhouse gases, which environmentalists argue contribute to global warming.

Since 2003, the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) has operated a voluntary network where companies can pledge to meet annual targets for the emissions of carbon from their factories and businesses. Those below the targets can sell surplus allowances or bank them; those above can purchase credits to offset their emissions -- similar to President Obama's stalled "cap and trade" legislation

But according to an advisory posted to the exchange's website, participants simply didn't want to trade in carbon credits without a legal requirement that they do so. Jeff Sprecher, chief executive of the InternationalExchange and CCX's owner, confirmed to the Financial Times that participants in the CCX's cap-and-trade system wanted to pull out.

Crap and Tax, Version 2.0

It doesn't end. They will not stop their efforts to ram this complete BS down our throats. All these taxes that are coming mean one thing--a hard time for your kids and their kids. And all of these taxes--especially this one--are avoidable.

Manmade global warming is a big, fat myth supported with the shakiest of scandal-laden pseudoscience. And of course, the RINO (Republican in Name Only) squad is in full support of this disaster.

Hopefully, the nearing ejection of liberals and RINOs from Congress will put a stop to this madness.

WASHINGTON, April 15 (Reuters) - A long-awaited compromise bill to reduce U.S. emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases blamed for global warming will be unveiled by a group of senators on April 26, sources said on Thursday.

The legislative language to be sketched out in 11 days, according to government and environmental sources, is being drafted by Democratic Senator John Kerry, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and independent Senator Joseph Lieberman.

Energy Bill May Be Shelved

Boo hoo hoo. That's what happens when you overspend your capital, Thulsa Doom Obama. I'll be happy to see this sack of crap burn.

Conceding that they can't find enough votes for the legislation, Senate Democrats on Thursday abandoned efforts to put together a comprehensive energy bill that would seek to curb greenhouse gas emissions, delivering a potentially fatal blow to a proposal the party has long touted and President Obama campaigned on.

Obama: Use Oil Spill to Push Cap and Trade

You know, the unprecedented oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is a REAL environmental emergency--unlike the phony, stupid "climate change" or "global warming" emergencies that have been declared by environmentalist nazis. Do you see the irony? All of these "really smart" people working for Obama (like Dr. Chu) have tons of ridiculous solutions to all of the ills ridiculously attributed to global warming, and yet NONE of these geniuses can respond to a REAL environmental disaster. All of their education is worth NOTHING now.

But that won't stop your Caesar in-Chief from trying to reuse the Rahm-Emmanuel aphorism: "Never let a crisis go to waste." Thulsa Doom Obama is going to, somehow, use this mess to shove his unpopular, socialistic tax policies down your throat, and you'd better like it or else. Majorities of Americans don't support illegal immigration, health care reform, or openly gay service members, but you can see that this isn't stopping BHO.

Barack Obama will on Wednesday make a renewed push to spur the US Senate into action on climate change, saying the BP oil spill underlines the urgency for the country to lessen its dependence on fossil fuels.

The US president will host senators from both parties at the White House – including those who have proposed variations on a climate change bill – but analysts are sceptical about whether he can overcome the political impasse on a proposal that is seen as essentially a tax.

Hillary Clinton: AGW 'Unequivocal' and 'Human-induced'

You've just got to understand why they can't let this go. So much has been invested in creating this myth; so many reputations and so much money hangs in the balance, even though there is NOTHING there.

All this in an attempt to save the next Crap and Tax bill that most Americans don't want. Like that ever stopped Democrats.

WASHINGTON, April 19 (Reuters) - An environmental coalition publicized a new U.S. draft report on climate change on Monday, one week before the expected unveiling of a compromise U.S. Senate bill that aims to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

The Project on Climate Science, a coalition of environmental groups, publicized the report in advance of Earth Day on April 22, a spokeswoman said. The report was released with little fanfare on April 7 and posted on the Federal Register on April 8.

The report, a draft of the Fifth U.S. Climate Action Report that will be sent to the United Nations, says bluntly: "Global warming is unequivocal and primarily human-induced ... Global temperature has increased over the past 50 years. This observed increase is due primarily to human-induced emissions of heat-trapping gases."

Senate Backpedals on Crap-and-Tax

The first Republican Senator in decades is elected to Ted Kennedy's old seat, which Democrats had taken for granted as their own. Now you'll begin to see leftists backing off of socialist programs like cap-and-trade and government-run health care. Obama overreached and was rebuked by liberal Massachusetts (it will be much worse in more conservative areas of the country), and now reality will set in, because the number one goal of these morons in Congress--regardless of their party or political affiliation--is to keep their jobs.

"My own sense is that in the aftermath of a very, very heavy lift on health care, I think it is unlikely that the Senate will turn next to the very complicated and very controversial subject of cap-and-trade, climate change kind of legislation," Dorgan said. "I think it is more compelling to turn to an energy bill that is bi-partisan."

Copen-faken Kills Alliance and Carbon Trading

Copen-faken. It was supposed to be the culminating moment for Obama to begin his world rule. As it turns out, there's not much to the 'unprecedented agreement.' What happened? Climategate. Al Gore caught in a lie. Prince Charles opened his stupid trap again. Hypocrisy. Communist tirades and protests. Infighting. Bickering. And cold weather. LOL! So much for that bullshit. Rest in pieces!

Cracks emerged on Tuesday in the alliance on climate change formed at the Copenhagen conference last week, with leading developing countries criticising the resulting accord.

The so-called BASIC countries – Brazil, South Africa, India and China – backed the accord in a meeting with the US on Friday night, and it was also supported by nearly all other nations at the talks, including all of the biggest emitters.

[From FT.com / Global Economy - Climate change alliance crumbling]

Carbon prices plunged yesterday in the aftermath of the Copenhagen conference on climate change, dealing a blow to the credibility of the European Union's carbon-trading scheme.

Prices for carbon permits for December 2010 delivery, the benchmark contract for pricing European permits, dropped nearly 10 per cent in early trading, before recovering to end the day 8.3 per cent lower at €12.41.

Lower prices give companies less incentive to invest in cutting their greenhouse gas output. Analysts estimate that prices of more than €40 a tonne are required to stimulate investment in new low-carbon technologies.

Europe's Cap and Trade Tied to Organized Crime

No, our stupid government won't heed the warning, because our current government IS practically organized crime.

The top cops in Europe say carbon-trading has fallen prey to an organized crime scheme that has robbed the continent of $7.4 billion -- a massive fraud that lawmakers and energy experts say should send a "red flag" to the U.S., where the House approved cap-and-trade legislation over the summer amid stiff opposition.

In a statement released last week, the Europol police agency said Europe's cap-and-trade system has been the victim of organized crime during the past 18 months, resulting in losses of roughly $7.4 billion. The agency, headquartered in the Netherlands, estimated that in some countries up to 90 percent of the entire market volume was caused by fraudulent activities.

Australia's Parliament Rejects Cap and Trade

Good for them. The casualties of Climategate continue, while our news media mostly sticks its head in the sand over the scandal. May the Climategate casualties and global warming believers NOT rest in peace.

The Senate, where Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's government does not hold a majority, rejected his administration's proposal for Australia to become one of the first countries to install a so-called cap-and-trade system to slash the amount of heat-trapping pollution that industries pump into the air.

The 41-33 vote followed a tumultuous debate in which the conservative main opposition party at first agreed to support a version of the government's bill, then dramatically dumped its leader and switched sides after bitter divisions erupted within the party.

Climategate May Halt Obama’s Cap and Trade

Another blog entry from the U.K. press (because our own lefty press just IS NOT going there). It won't matter. Fox News and bloggers (like me) will fill the void where our agenda-driven, majority liberal news media continues failing us.

You must go and read THIS ENTIRE post. It's really great, because it shows just how dead this has become. So many in Congress are already on the chopping block over the economy, bailouts, and health care reform. Obama, in my opinion, is a one-term president. He's trying to cram so much down America's throat that they will rebel against his Marxist butt. He's Jimmy Carter, Part II.

Let's see how many in our government are willing to lose their jobs for Thulsa Doom Obama. Bye, bye crap-and-tax.

Senator James Inhofe’s Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works has written to all the relevant US Government agencies, acquainting them with the nature of the e-mails. But the real car crash for Obama is on Capitol Hill where it is now confidently believed his Cap and Trade climate legislation is toast. It was always problematic; but with a growing awakening to the scale of the scientific imposture sweeping the world, as far as the Antipodes, the clever money is on Cap and Trade laws failing to pass, with many legislators sceptical and the mid-term elections looming ever closer.

EPA Employees Silenced for Criticizing Crap and Tax

I bet if they were EPA employees who made videos PRAISING crap-and-tax that the EPA wouldn't have said a thing; the EPA is a political machine that must to find ways to continue being relevant. Global warming is just the kind of nonsense that the EPA needs, just as it is for many politicians and scientists. Boondoggles are hard to come by, and since the term "global warming" has become accepted in the collective consciousness, they've got a good thing they don't want to risk losing.

Laurie Williams and husband Alan Zabel worked as lawyers for the Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, in its San Francisco office for more than 20 years, and they know more about climate change than most politicians. But when the couple released a video on the Internet expressing their concerns over the Obama administration’s plans to use cap-and-trade legislation to fight climate change, they were told to keep it to themselves.

Williams and Zabel oppose cap and trade -- a controversial government allowance program in which companies are issued emissions limits, or caps, which they can then trade -- as a means to fight climate change.

Thulsa Doom Obama Blasts 'Naysayers'

Thulsa Doom: Steel isn't strong, boy, flesh is stronger! Look around you. There, on the rocks; a beautiful girl. Come to me, my child...

Thulsa Doom: [coaxes the girl to jump to her death]

Thulsa Doom: That is strength, boy! That is power! What is steel compared to the hand that wields it? Look at the strength in your body, the desire in your heart, I gave you this! Such a waste. Contemplate this on the tree of woe. Crucify him!

I don't care if the Lord Messiah Obama is hitting out at 'naysayers' or not. His little crap-and-tax government control BS isn't washing in the United States or the rest of the world. People believe less and less everyday in this hoax, because they have eyes, ears, skin (that can feel cold), and a THINKING BRAIN--something apparently lacking in the countless sheep willing to follow Obama over a cliff, if he so commands it.

I just drew an interesting film analogy to describe Obama's Cult of Personality. Remember the first Conan the Barbarian movie in the 80s (with Arnold However-you-spell-his-name-enegger)? James Earl Jones played a cult leader named Thulsa Doom, a mystical, snake-loving Jim-Jones type, who could command his followers to do anything--including jumping to their deaths at his very whim.

If Thulsa Doom Obama is lashing out in this way at us 'naysayers' (formerly 'deniers'), it's because he knows this mythological nonsense is, itself, doomed. To direct another film quote from the talented James Earl Jones towards Thulsa Doom Obama, "Now, your failure is complete."

US President Barack Obama on Friday hit out at naysayers he blamed for peddling "cynical" claims that global warming is a myth to derail a landmark climate change bill in Congress.

Obama warned that the closer the Senate came to passing legislation which has already cleared the House of Representatives, the more opponents would resort to underhand tactics.

Drop Cap and Trade Say Democratic Senators

Yay! Let's here it for the moderates! Yes, cap and trade is a huge problem, with the fact that it's stupid being the first among many sub-problems. I won't even go into the endless problems with the myth of carbon-induced climate change (that's what most of this blog is for). I'm all for renewable energy, because it will leave the radical Arabs without our money. But lying and saying that carbon is heating the Earth is wrong, stupid, and a lie.

Aug. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Senate should abandon efforts to pass legislation curbing greenhouse-gas emissions this year and concentrate on a narrower bill to require use of renewable energy, four Democratic lawmakers say.

“The problem of doing both of them together is that it becomes too big of a lift,” Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas said in an interview last week. “I see the cap-and-trade being a real problem.”

The resistance by Lincoln and her Senate colleagues undercuts President Barack Obama’s effort to win passage of legislation that would cap carbon dioxide emissions and establish a market for trading pollution allowances, said Peter Molinaro, the head of government affairs for Midland, Michigan- based Dow Chemical Co., which supports the measure.

Australian Senate Rejects Cap and Trade

Let's hope the morons in our own country come to their senses too. As the health care debate shows, these fools aren't playing with a full deck and could care less what you pathetic obstacles think about their moves to consolidate power.

Aug. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Australia’s Senate rejected the government’s climate-change legislation, forcing Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to amend the bill or call an early election.

Senators voted 42 to 30 against the law, which included plans for a carbon trading system similar to one used in Europe. Australia, the world’s biggest coal exporter, was proposing to reduce greenhouse gases by between 5 percent and 15 percent of 2000 levels in the next decade.

Coldest Chicago July Since 1942

Empirical evidence mounts and mounts. Meanwhile, Congress continues pursuing expensive legislation that will COST ONLY YOU. Don't be fooled by the 'tax the rich' gimmick. The rich own the businesses, so they'll respond by laying off people and raising the prices of their products.

CHICAGO (CBS) ― Near Record Cold July Means Shrinking Bills

(7/17/2009)

Have you left your air conditioner in the closet this summer, and worn long pants more often than shorts? If so, you may not be surprised to find out that Chicago is seeing its coldest July in more than 65 years.

The National Weather Service says 2009 has seen the coldest July since the official recording station was moved away from the lakefront in 1942. The average temperature this month in Chicago has been a mere 68.9 degrees.

Why Cap-and-Trade Will Fail

Even some very liberal Democrats in the Senate, just as in the House, are opposed to this monstrous, business-killing, anti-capitalist nonsense. Even old Senator Byrd, who admittedly represents a major coal producing state, comes down against President Obama's socialistic support of radical environmentalism.

Frankly, though it's not politically correct to admit it, most thinking people know this is a fad of the moment and is NOT REAL. It’s a power grab and a wealth grab—plain and simple. There is no global warming caused by mankind; it's ridiculous but has become this unassailable myth. Want to be ostracized by your liberal friends? Just dare say that global warming doesn't stand scientifically or in terms of commonsense. Just look at all the empirical data of the past two years that the media continually ignores. Just look at the fact that temperatures since 1998 (if you believe the baseline) have descended. Just look at the fact that Al Gore is a complete idiot.

The believer alarmists don't want their little boondoggle disturbed.

Byrd Blasts ‘Cap and Trade’

WHEELING - He is not yet back to work in the Senate chamber, but U.S. Sen. Robert Byrd is opposing "cap and trade" legislation pushed by the Obama administration.

The 91-year-old Byrd, D-W.Va., was released from an unidentified Washington, D.C. hospital last week after a month-long stay for a staph infection. He expects to return to the chamber before the Senate begins debate on "cap and trade" - which is tentatively set for this fall, according to Byrd's office.

"I cannot support the House bill in its present form," Byrd said in a statement. "I continue to believe that clean coal can be a 'green' energy. Those of us who understand coal's great potential in our quest for energy independence must continue to work diligently in shaping a climate bill that will ensure access to affordable energy for West Virginians. I remain bullish about the future of coal, and am so very proud of the miners who labor and toil in the coalfields of West Virginia."
