HuffPo: Apologize Mr. Gore!

Thanks to Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters for writing about this incredible news item! As he points out though, HuffPo managed to bury this deep within its own entrails. Only us deniers will likely find it. Harold Ambler's original post is here.

Did you ever in your wildest dreams imagine seeing an article at the liberal website the Huffington Post that not only refuted the anthropogenic global warming myth, but also asked Nobel Laureate Al Gore to apologize for the climate hysteria he's caused?

No...neither did I.

Unfortunately, Harold Ambler's "Mr. Gore: Apology Accepted" wasn't featured on HuffPo's home page when it was published late Saturday morning, nor was it included in the site's featured posts.

Hansen: Advance socialism using AGW hoax

Moron NASA climate scare scientist Dr. Hansen shows his true colors once more. AGW is simply an assault on capitalism, plain and simple.

Climate realists around the world have contended for years that the real goal of alarmists such as Nobel Laureate Al Gore and his followers is to use the fear of man-made global warming to redistribute wealth. On Monday, one of Gore's leading scientific resources, Goddard Institute for Space Studies chief James Hansen, sent a letter to Barack and Michelle Obama specifically urging the president-elect to enact a tax on carbon emissions that would take money from higher-income Americans and distribute the proceeds to the less fortunate.

GASP!: Climate change goes after fairer sex

Add this to the list of things caused by global warming--part of the fear approach in AGW indoctrination duality. Here we see that women are truly facing demise at the hands of capitalism.

Please see our other posts in the GASP! series. Newsbusters' Noel Sheppard did a great write-up on this.

Women bear the brunt of climate change:

Bali, Indonesia: They have to walk to fetch water, fodder or fuel wood. They have to work longer hours in fields that fetch less and less. After floods and storms, they still have to put food on the plate.

Women bear the brunt of climate change every year, a global network of women's groups pointed out here.

Recent, great coverage of scam

Why reinvent the wheel? Newsbusters does a great job of covering much of the global warming nonsense going on in the media, so I turn this post over to them (also because I haven't had a lot of time to vent lately):

BBC Changes 'Temperatures Decrease' Article to Incite Climate Hysteria | NewsBusters.org:

In fact, what was once a realistic portrayal of new data released by the World Meteorological Organization suddenly became another hysterical report espousing doom and gloom at the hands of manmade global warming.
Global Warming Activist Pressures BBC to Significantly Alter Article | NewsBusters.org:
NewsBusters has just learned that a British "climate activist" was responsible for getting the BBC to radically alter its "Global Temperatures 'To Decrease'" article last Friday.
Australian Paper: No Criticism of Earth Hour Allowed | NewsBusters.org:
It continues. Days after NewsBusters reported that the BBC willingly censored its reporting to fit the agenda of a left-wing environmental activist comes news that reporters at an Australian paper have been forced company-wide to promote climate alarmism by their bosses.
Gore Bars Press From Speech In San Francisco | NewsBusters.org:
After all, it's not like anyone is going to ask him a tough question, or write something that might expose him as the charlatan most folks not drinking the Kool -- er, I mean Global Warming-Aid understand him to be.

However, that's exactly what happened Friday afternoon when the Global Warmingest-in-Chief spoke at the RSA Conference with specific instructions for no press members to be allowed through the doors of the Moscone Convention Center.

Scientist demands that ABC apologize

Steven Milloy from junkscience.com had a great write up on this subject just the other day.

FOXNews.com - Junk Science: Global Smearing - Opinion:

By any standard, atmospheric physicist Dr. S. Fred Singer is a remarkably accomplished scientist. But his outspoken questioning of global warming alarmism has just earned him one of the most outrageous mainstream media smear pieces I’ve ever seen.

ABC News reporter Dan Harris interviewed Singer for more than an hour at the recent International Climate Conference. From that interview, Harris produced a three-minute TV broadcast and Web site article that was about as fair and objective toward Singer as I might expect Greenpeace to be.

Thanks also to Noel Sheppard at NB! Great read. Don't think the media has chosen a side, eh? Oh, that's right...the consensus can't be questioned. I forgot...sorry Jim Jones Gore.

Scientist Demands Apology From ABC for Global Warming Hit Piece | NewsBusters.org:

LETTER TO ABC NEWS

TO: Felicia Biberica Fiona Conway
Producer Executive director ABC News
ABC News
W. 66th St.
New York City 10023

Dear Ms Biberica and Ms Conway March 25, 2008

I share the anger expressed in nearly 100 postings (so far) at the shoddy handling of my interview aired on March 23: It was an appalling display of bias, unfairness, journalistic misbehavior, and a breakdown of ethical standards. It used prejudicial language, distorted facts, libelous insinuations, and anonymous smears. I urge you to read the postings; only one person offered any support to ABC, as far as I can see.

I put the following account on my website www.sepp.org:

1. Interviewer Dan Harris used a man from Greenpeace who spouted conspiracy theories about me, showing someone's diagram that 'connects' me to groups alleged to be financed by oil companies. The only purpose I can think of is to suggest to viewers that I am in the pay of oil companies and that therefore my science is somehow tainted and not credible. First, the suggestion is completely false. I am not financed or supported by oil companies or by any industry. Then, Harris tried to suggest that I misrepresented by denying oil company support but admitting receiving an unsolicited donation. I draw a distinction --as would any reasonable person -- between being 'supported' and between a single charitable donation (constituting a tiny fraction of 1%) of all donations received. Finally, the word 'connected' is imprecise, and can mean anything from being on a mailing list to holding a position and receiving a salary. In my case it is definitely the former.

2. Dan Harris also referred to unnamed scientists from NASA, Princeton and Stanford, who pronounced what I do as 'fraudulent nonsense.' [The ABC website changed it to 'fabricated' nonsense - perhaps on advice of ABC's lawyers.] They are easily identified as the well-known Global Warming zealots Jim Hansen, Michael Oppenheimer, and Steve Schneider. They should be asked by ABC to put their money where their mouth is and have a scientific debate with me. [I suspect they'll chicken out. They surely know that the facts support my position -- so they resort to anonymous slurs.] Hansen is no longer the careful scientist he was but has turned into an ideologue willing to publish junk 'research'. Oppenheimer, who may still be on the payroll of Environmental Defense, an activist lobbying group, has negligible credentials. Schneider has not published significant research in years. Both Hansen and Oppenheimer could be labeled as ‘Contrarians’ since they disagree with important conclusions of the UN-IPCC.

3. Dan Harris did mention my doubts about the lung-cancer effects of Second-Hand Smoke, about the danger of toxic waste (spent nuclear fuel), and about 'Nuclear Winter.' All true -- Dan did his research but withheld the full story. On SHS, I simply quoted from the experts (see attached review article from a noted medical doctor, specializing in lung disease). Nuclear fuel presents no technical problems, only political ones. France and Britain handle its disposal; why don't we? 'Nuclear Winter' (which burst onto the scene in 1983 -- and disappeared quickly) was basically a fraud, invented to shore up an ideological position. We disposed of it in a debate moderated by Ted Koppel on ABC-Nightline. But Harris left the audience with the impression that I am a ‘career skeptic’, and therefore my skepticism about manmade GW should be ignored.

4. Yours is supposed to be a news program not an opinion journal. Dan Harris completely ignored the new scientific evidence against anthropogenic (human-caused) global warming (AGW) and the fact that 100 other scientists presented papers that support this view. The Heartland Conference in NY had an attendance of more than 500, practically all of them AGW skeptics. That’s news, but ABC ignored it.

Conclusion: ABC owes it to its audience and to me to make appropriate corrections -- an apology and retraction by Dan Harris on the World News program.

Sincerely,

S. Fred Singer, PhD (Physics, Princeton)

How cute! Let's dim the lights and "save" each other...

Earth Hour

Throw this one in the stupid bin along with the mercury-tainted light bulb. Guess who didn't dim their lights? My house! And my city seemed as bright as usual. Isn't this sort of like that stupid myth that if everyone refuses to buy gas from Texaco for one day that they'll have to drop the price??!! GEEZ!

Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters also has some very good commentary on this tree-hugging event; even Google got in on it, which I'm sure saved us a few more years on the earth.

Earth Hour goes global | Reuters
:

LONDON/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The Sydney Opera House to San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge went dark as people switched off lights in their homes and skylines dimmed around the world on Saturday to show concern with global warming.

Up to 30 million people were expected to have turned off their lights for 60 minutes by the time "Earth Hour" -- which started in Suva in Fiji and Christchurch in New Zealand -- completed its cycle westward.

Inhabitat » LIGHTS OFF EVERYONE: Global Earth Hour is Tonight!:
Last year, more than 2.2 million Earth Hour participants shut off their lights throughout Sydney in a powerful stand in support of protecting the environment. Tonight, the lights off action is going global! Around the world, cities on every continent - including Atlanta, Bangkok, Bogota, Chicago, Dublin, Montreal, Manilla, San Francisco, Sydney, Tel Aviv and more - 20,000+ businesses and almost 300,000 individuals have signed up to turn off the lights and turn up environmental awareness.

Artist prefers 'human-free' world

Kool Aid
When the nutjob artists start basing their portfolios around perceived AGW-caused disasters, it's time to drink some kool-aid. The last sentence in this reply shows clearly that Sasha is a kool-aid drinker.

Kimberly Brooks: The Art of Global Warming: Photographer Sasha Bezzubov - Living on The Huffington Post:

KB: Has this series made you more of an "environmentalist", per se?

SB: That's a really good question. On the one hand I share with environmentalists the conviction that we need to act now in order to slow the pace of stress that we're putting out climate and environment in general through. I think that if we need to make economic sacrifices to slow climate change and other deleterious effects of our industry, and this is debatable, they are preferable to the possibility of living out our days in a hostile world of warming climate, increasing natural disasters and diminishing resources. And in my little ways I'm trying to live that ideal. On the other hand if we all stopped reproducing tomorrow, in a hundred years Earth would be human-free, which may be the most environment friendly act.

The Day the Earth...Burned Up

Earthstoodstill
Keanu Reeves prepares to slurp the kool-aid with thirsty abandon. Thanks to Noel.

Klaatu To Warn Us About.... Global Warming? - Screen Rant:

I don't know how familiar you are with the original (and classic) version of The Day the Earth Stood Still, but it was borne out of fears of the Atomic Age and the initial stirrings of the Cold War. Today it may seem quaint and dated but at the time it was a very relevant theme to be tackled from a sci-fi angle.

Over at MTV.com they've quoted Keanu Reeves in an interview and while he admits that yes, there is a huge threat posed by the staggering number of international conflicts...

"The version [of 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'] I was just working on, instead of being man against man, it’s more about man against nature. My Klaatu says that if the Earth dies, you die. If you die, the earth survives. I’m a friend to the earth."

Ok, all together now: Awwwwwwwwwww.....

AGW ended 10 years ago!

Read it and weep, alarmists... CO2 is NOT DRIVING THE CLIMATE! Thanks to Newsbusters once more.

Climate facts to warm to | The Australian:

CATASTROPHIC predictions of global warming usually conjure with the notion of a tipping point, a point of no return.

Last Monday - on ABC Radio National, of all places - there was a tipping point of a different kind in the debate on climate change. It was a remarkable interview involving the co-host of Counterpoint, Michael Duffy and Jennifer Marohasy, a biologist and senior fellow of Melbourne-based think tank the Institute of Public Affairs. Anyone in public life who takes a position on the greenhouse gas hypothesis will ignore it at their peril.
Duffy asked Marohasy: "Is the Earth still warming?"

She replied: "No, actually, there has been cooling, if you take 1998 as your point of reference. If you take 2002 as your point of reference, then temperatures have plateaued. This is certainly not what you'd expect if carbon dioxide is driving temperature because carbon dioxide levels have been increasing but temperatures have actually been coming down over the last 10 years."

Duffy: "Is this a matter of any controversy?"

Marohasy: "Actually, no. The head of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has actually acknowledged it. He talks about the apparent plateau in temperatures so far this century. So he recognises that in this century, over the past eight years, temperatures have plateaued ... This is not what you'd expect, as I said, because if carbon dioxide is driving temperature then you'd expect that, given carbon dioxide levels have been continuing to increase, temperatures should be going up ... So (it's) very unexpected, not something that's being discussed. It should be being discussed, though, because it's very significant."

More monikers: Flat Earthers!

I guess the warmaholics got the maximum use out of declaring us AGW skeptics as "Holocaust deniers." Now, we've been labeled as "flat earthers" in an attempt to silence us, make us seem stupid, and put us at imagined odds with the "rest of the world."

Of course, I can easily reverse this, because believing in manmade climate change is like believing in a flat earth. It's like believing that the Earth is the center of the universe, whereby we must invent elaborate models so that the observed movements of heavenly bodies continue to make sense according to our beliefs. In this case, we have to create elaborate models to keep the theory of AGW afloat.

Galileo suffered as we deniers are now; in those days, the Roman Catholic Church tormented him. Today, the Church of Global Warming with Al Gore as its head is tormenting any who dare say, "nope, it's BS."

Again, we come back to debate based on science, which we've been denied. No one wants debate; they want silence--our silence and conformity.

CNN: Climate Conference Attendees Are Like Flat Earthers | NewsBusters.org:

O'BRIEN: Fagin teaches journalism and writes on the environment. He says skeptics have changed their tune as evidence started stacking up against them. A decade ago they denied global warming even existed.

FAGIN: They're getting closer to the scientific reality, although they're certainly not there yet. The only way that they could be right is if there was some kind of grand conspiracy.

O'BRIEN: But that is what Heartland desperately wants us to believe. Even the Flat Earth Society didn't fold its tent in 1493.

Miles O'Brien, CNN, New York.

BTW...O'Brien is showing his ignorance, as the FES was still functioning in 2001. Putz...do your research!

IPCC scientists reject AGW theory

I love it when former U.N. IPCC scientists denounce the Frankenstein they helped to create.

The new "inconvenient truth" that dares not say its name:

Hundreds of climate experts from around the world at the New York conference issued a "Manhattan Declaration," whose title gets right to the bottom line: Nature, not Human activity, Rules the Climate.

Among those at the gathering was former UN scientist (he quit the UN group in disgust) Dr. Paul Reiter of the Pasteur Institute in Paris. Dr. Reiter told the attendees that, "[a]s far as the science being 'settled,' I think that is an obscenity. The fact is the science is being distorted by those who are not scientists."

Added famed hurricane expert and meteorologist Dr. William Gray: "There are a lot of skeptics out there, all over the U.S. and the rest of the world. [Global warming] has been over-hyped tremendously; most of the climate change we have seen is largely natural. I think we are brainwashing our children terribly."

There are other IPCC scientists who have rejected their part in the farce. Let's take John Christy.

My Nobel Moment - WSJ.com:

I've had a lot of fun recently with my tiny (and unofficial) slice of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). But, though I was one of thousands of IPCC participants, I don't think I will add "0.0001 Nobel Laureate" to my resume.

The other half of the prize was awarded to former Vice President Al Gore, whose carbon footprint would stomp my neighborhood flat. But that's another story.

I'm sure the majority (but not all) of my IPCC colleagues cringe when I say this, but I see neither the developing catastrophe nor the smoking gun proving that human activity is to blame for most of the warming we see. Rather, I see a reliance on climate models (useful but never "proof") and the coincidence that changes in carbon dioxide and global temperatures have loose similarity over time.

Al Gore's response to Dr. Christy? We deniers are "outliers" and "flat earthers." Gore thinks we need MORE propaganda to brainwash you sheep out there into believing his little fart ball called global warming.

Al Gore, Comedian: Media's Global-Warming Coverage Too Balanced | NewsBusters.org:

AL GORE: Well, he's an outlier. He no longer belongs to the IPCC, and he is way outside the scientific consensus. But Meredith, part of the challenge the news media has had in covering this story is the old habit of taking the "on the one hand, on the other hand" approach. There are still people who believe that the earth is flat. But when you're reporting on a story like the one you're covering today, where you have people all around the world, you don't take, you don't search out, for someone who still believes the earth is flat and give them equal time. And the reason the IPCC was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the thousands of scientists who make up that group, have for almost twenty years now created a very strong scientific consensus, that is as strong a consensus as you'll ever see in science, that the climate crisis is real, human beings are responsible for it, the results will be very bad for the United States and for the entire world community, all human beings, unless we do something about it. And there is still time to solve it.

ABC's Stossel a rare media type

There are a few media members out there who are bravely standing up to the BS machine, but you can see that they're getting sidelined, burned, and ignored. Kudos to Newsbusters for touting the recent work that John Stossel did for ABC's 20/20.

ABC's Stossel Takes on Gore Movie, Talks to Dissenting Scientists | NewsBusters.org:

STOSSEL: "You've heard the reports. The globe is warming. And it's our fault. And the consequences will be terrible. But you should know there is another side to this story. And scientists who've tried to tell it are often threatened. Which makes me say, 'Give Me a Break.'"
STOSSEL: Is this what the global warming debate has come to? One side saying, "Shut up, dissent must not be heard." The truth is that, while everyone agrees the earth has warmed, lots of good scientists don't agree that it's mostly our fault, and don't agree that it's going to be a catastrophe. So when the Nobel Prize winner says-

GORE: The debate's over. The debate's over.

STOSSEL: I say, "Give Me a Break."

Usually, what we see from media members is fearmongering and advocacy; let's take CBS's Harry Smith, as a small example, when he recently interviewed NYC's Mayor Bloomberg.

CBS's Smith to Bloomberg: 'Manhattan Will Be Underwater by 2050' | NewsBusters.org:
To match Bloomberg’s alarmist rhetoric, Smith added "Manhattan will be underwater by 2050." Amusingly, even Bloomberg thought that assertion went too far, "There's a -- I don't know that Manhattan will be underwater, but certainly the environment's going to be a lot worse that we leave our children."

Ad Council: we're killing our children!

Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters made another great catch. This time we see children ticking away (like a bomb), guilting us capitalist adults for slowly killing them all. Then we're implored to do something "while there's still time."

Ad Council Uses Children in Horrific Global Warming Commercials | NewsBusters.org:

Sadly, this non-profit organization has not only decided to take on the most recent liberal bogeyman known as anthropogenic global warming, but do so by using young children.
HELP, I'M COVERED IN TICKS!!!

What they predicted; what actually happened

Similar to the wrong-headed, dire hurricane predictions over the past few years (where AGW was going to dissolve the coastline through high-powered cyclones), NOAA forecasters (also fueled by the global warming frenzy) forecasted a "warm winter" just a few months ago...

Warm Winter Predicted For United States:

ScienceDaily (Oct. 11, 2007) — NOAA forecasters are calling for above-average temperatures over most of the country and a continuation of drier-than-average conditions across already drought-stricken parts of the Southwest and Southeast in its winter outlook for the United States, announced at the 2007-2008 Winter Fuels Outlook Conference in Washington, D.C October 9, 2007.
Now, let's review a small sample of what actually happened (because the winter harshness was extensive):

NOAA: Coolest Winter Since 2001 for U.S., Globe :

The average temperature across both the contiguous U.S. and the globe during climatological winter (December 2007-February 2008) was the coolest since 2001, according to scientists at NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C. In terms of winter precipitation, Pacific storms, bringing heavy precipitation to large parts of the West, produced high snowpack that will provide welcome runoff this spring.
Surprise, surprise! Global warming completely reversed in one year. The climate CHANGES all the time--go figure! It’s not “climate change”…it’s the changing climate. The climate can not be expressed as a flat-line graph; it goes up and down and has done so for 4.5 billion years. Notice this piece about snow cover at the bottom:
While there has been little trend in snow cover extent during the winter season since records began in the late 1960s, spring snow cover extent has been sharply lower in the past two decades as global temperatures have increased.
What they’re letting out of the bag here (reluctantly) is that all the hoopla about “loss of snow cover and ice” is based on a baseline measurement range that is not yet 50 years in width. Do you realize how SHORT that period of time is when stacked against the Earth’s estimated life of 4.5 billion years???!!! Any medical research with such shady statistics would be laughed at roundly by scientists, and no treatments would ever result from such garbage research.

As Newsbusters correctly points out:

Hmmm. These guys can't accurately predict climate conditions two months out, but we should radically alter our economy based on their forecasts decades into the future?

NYT reporter: we need more global warming articles!

Kudos to Jeff Poor at Newsbusters. I guess 112 advocation stories in ONE MONTH based on a lie (ahem...global warming) aren't enough for the Ol' Grey Lady.

NY Times Reporter Wants Even More Global Warming Coverage:

Think the public is getting too much global warming from the media? Andrew Revkin, the environmental reporter for The New York Times, doesn’t think you’re getting enough.

Revkin spoke in Newark, Del., on March 12 for the University of Delaware’s Global Agenda lecture series, “Boiling Point: International Politics of Climate Change.” He told an audience he thought the climate change issue deserved more prominence in his paper’s print edition, however he understood why it wasn’t given as much.

A Nexis newspaper database search revealed that in the last month, The New York Times has published 40 stories mentioning “climate change” and 72 stories mentioning “global warming.”

Skeptics seize on "cold spell" to debunk AGW?

Kudos to Newsbusters once again, and I'm not even going to try to improve on Noel Sheppard's excellent points in his rebuttal piece that points out how the NYT story is still advocating for global warming alarmism, even with all the winter records we've had this year.

It's really, however, quite simple. Whenever anecdotal evidence points towards warmth, the anthropogenic end of the Earth is proclaimed in the press. When anecdotal evidence paints a contrasting picture, we see articles like this, which, though giving some positive exposure to the "deniers" of the world, still tries to wheel-and-deal to save some face, because much face stands to be lost, as this utter BS is shown for what it really is--simple fearmongering.

The curious thing about the title of this article is its opposite; why have we never seen Alarmists on AGW Seize on Warm Spell?

Skeptics on Human Climate Impact Seize on Cold Spell - New York Times:

The world has seen some extraordinary winter conditions in both hemispheres over the past year: snow in Johannesburg last June and in Baghdad in January, Arctic sea ice returning with a vengeance after a record retreat last summer, paralyzing blizzards in China, and a sharp drop in the globe’s average temperature.

It is no wonder that some scientists, opinion writers, political operatives and other people who challenge warnings about dangerous human-caused global warming have jumped on this as a teachable moment.

“Earth’s ‘Fever’ Breaks: Global COOLING Currently Under Way,” read a blog post and news release on Wednesday from Marc Morano, the communications director for the Republican minority on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

So what is happening?

According to a host of climate experts, including some who question the extent and risks of global warming, it is mostly good old-fashioned weather, along with a cold kick from the tropical Pacific Ocean, which is in its La Niña phase for a few more months, a year after it was in the opposite warm El Niño pattern.

If anything else is afoot — like some cooling related to sunspot cycles or slow shifts in ocean and atmospheric patterns that can influence temperatures — an array of scientists who have staked out differing positions on the overall threat from global warming agree that there is no way to pinpoint whether such a new force is at work.

Kilimanjaro: Snow cap is back like normal

An enormous snow cover is back on Mount Kilimanjaro; the loss of snow on it in recent years had become another portent of doom. Not anymore...but notice the author's sentence highlighted in bold. Of course...once again, so much has been said in the media that it will now be impossible to unravel without ending a few careers in humiliation, so the best course of action is to continue the myth for as long as possible...idiots. Kudos to Anthony Watts and Noel Sheppard.

Mount Kilimanjaro: On Africa's roof, still crowned with snow - International Herald Tribune:

I had wanted to climb to the roof of Africa before climate change erased its ice fields and the romance of its iconic "Snows of Kilimanjaro" image. But as we trudged across the 12,000-foot Shira plateau on Day 2 of our weeklong climb and gazed at the whiteness of the vast, humpbacked summit, I thought maybe I needn't have worried.

An up-and-down-and-up traverse of the south face of Kibo, the tallest of the mountain's three volcanic peaks, showed us a panorama of the summit ice cap and fractured tentacles of glacial ice that dangled down gullies dividing the vertical rock faces. And four days later, when we reached 19,340-foot Uhuru, the highest point on Kibo, we beheld snow and ice fields so enormous as to resemble the Arctic.

It looked nothing like the photographs of Kibo nearly denuded of ice and snow in the Al Gore documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." Nor did it seem to jibe with the film's narrative: "Within the decade, there will be no more snows of Kilimanjaro."

As it turned out, we had simply been lucky.

Sorry: All scientists DO NOT AGREE

Kudos once again to Noel Sheppard for his awesome AGW coverage.

So 400 scientists disagree with the consensus and the Gore-Christ (including former U.N. IPCC members), and all the Gore-Christ can do is say that 30 of them MAY HAVE "Big Oil" connections. This is why more scientists don't speak up about what's going on; they don't want to be branded with the Scarlet Letter by the Warmaholic Faithful. Al Gore's Oscar and Nobel Prizes are the biggest jokes I think I've ever personally witnessed.

One-hundred well-known, respected scientists recently sent an open letter to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, imploring the U.N. to wake-up and see the political juggernaut this is issue has become. They boldly state (at their own professional peril) that climate change is natural and that political action is futile.

Though not in the letter, one scientist stated the following:

"I find the Doomsday picture Al Gore is painting — a six-meter sea level rise, 15 times the IPCC number — entirely without merit," said Dutch atmospheric scientist Hendrik Tennekes, one of the researchers quoted in the report by Republican staff of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

"I protest vigorously the idea that the climate reacts like a home heating system to a changed setting of the thermostat: just turn the dial, and the desired temperature will soon be reached," Mr. Tennekes said in the report.

Later we read:
In the Senate report, environmental scientist David W. Schnare of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said he was skeptical because "conclusions about the cause of the apparent warming stand on the shoulders of incredibly uncertain data and models. ... As a policy matter, one has to be less willing to take extreme actions when data are highly uncertain."
U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works :: Minority Page:
Over 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen countries recently voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called "consensus" on man-made global warming. These scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore.

GASP!: Snakes will squeeze us to death!

Snake

LOL! I couldn't make this up. Thanks to Noel!

Pythons could squeeze lower third of USA - USATODAY.com:

As climate change warms the nation, giant Burmese pythons could colonize one-third of the USA, from San Francisco across the Southwest, Texas and the South and up north along the Virginia coast, according to U.S. Geological Survey maps released Wednesday.

The pythons can be 20 feet long and 250 pounds. They are highly adaptable to new environments.
