Global warming (excuse me, "climate change") is the new religion of the American and World Left, complete with its own messiah in the form of Al Gore, the self-proclaimed "inventor of the Internet." They love their messiah and his message of industrial-hate so much that they gave him a Nobel Prize and Oscar for his farcical AGW film and faithful advocacy.
It's so much of a religion that Al "Gore-Christ" tells us that "the time for debate is over." But any REAL scientist will tell you that science never stops debating and searching; in science, debate is never over, especially when it comes to certain questionable theories--like "man-made" climate change, for example. What does the Gore-Christ really want? He wants what any politician wants--power, and the best way to leverage power is to create more social bureaucracy (the "Government" wants to save you from yourself because you're too stupid to know any better).
Gore and his followers want "debate to be over" so that you'll shut up and goose-step through the public square, yelling at other non-compliant people driving SUVs and eating red meat. They want you proclaiming all capitalist humans as the murderers of Mother Nature.
So when CBS decides to air a show on climate change (that makes no mention of 400 worldwide scientists who disagree with or question manmade climate change as it is currently propagated), CBS pulls out the ol' Holocaust-denier comparison:

Al Gore-Christ!"

How many million times does the record need to be set right on Gore claiming he invented the internet before those of you who refuse to be enlightened finally see the truth? Gore was the congressman most responsible for the funding of what became known as the internet -- even Newt Gingrich acknowledges that. And yes, Gore did have a great deal to do with the growth of the internet -- Gore is a very forward thinker as evidenced by the respect he gets from 95% of the world's population and 100% of the thinking population.
How many millions of times does the Gore-Christ need to be caught stretching the truth in his inconvenient Powerpoint presentations before someone calls him on it? Al Gore is not a scientist, but somehow he has been given the status of one among certain scientists. He's probably one of the biggest dolts I've ever seen, and he sure can burn fossil fuels (that he offsets with his own carbon offset company).
Where do your stats come from that say he's "respected by 100% of the thinkers in the world?" I really want to read THAT peer-reviewed paper. I know he's respected by 100% of the liberals in the world, but not necessarily "all the thinkers."
Al Gore never said he "grew the internet" or "I funded the Internet"; he said, "I took the initiative in creating the Internet."
The DoD created the Internet; it was once called Arpanet and created by DARPA, a military thinktank that produces new technology for warfare.
Al Gore-Christ does not and never did create new technology for warfare. He would be disowned by his followers for EVER creating technology to kill people and break things, which is what our Dept. of Defense trains for, prepares for, and does in all its activities.
