Academy Members: Take back Al Gore's Oscar - Climategate

LOL! You've got to love this. Of course, their demand has as much chance of success as an icicle in hell, but I admire them for saying what none of their liberal counterparts will.

And yes, LA Times, there are SOME conservatives in Hollywood...about two or three. LOL!

What's funnier is that the Nobel organization isn't demanding its more prestigious award back from Al Gore.

No, it wouldn't do anything for the environment.

But two Hollywood conservatives (yes, there are some) have called upon the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to rescind the prestigious, profitable gold Oscar statuette that it gave ex-Vice President Al Gore et al two years ago for the environmental movie "An Inconvenient Truth."

Roger L. Simon and Lionel Chetwynd, both Academy members, are among a small, meandering pack of known political conservatives still believed to be on the loose in the liberal bastion of movie-making.

In 2007, Hollywood's Academy sanctified Gore's cinematic message of global warming with its famous statue, enriched his earnings by $100,000 per 85-minute appearance and helped elevate the Tennesseean's profile to win the Nobel Peace Prize despite losing the election battle of 2000 to a Texan and living in a large house with lots of energy-driven appliances.

Carbon-filled Al Gore Bellows More

When will this carbon-spewing, hypocritical nitwit go away? He's managed to sully the Nobel Prize and the Oscars simply by being a committee-entrancing recipient. He really needs a new niche.

Has anyone noticed how large Al Gore has gotten lately? I mean really...he's HUGE; he has really packed on the fat since he lost the election 9 years ago (yes, I said lost...not robbed of). Do you know out of what fat is primarily composed? That's right...strings and strings of CARBON ATOMS chained together. As a matter of fact, fats and oils are almost 100% carbon, with a little hydrogen thrown in.

Al Gore is a walking, farting environmental carbon disaster, according to his own definition.

And then he consumes enough energy (at his home and in his travels) to power a small city, all while buying carbon credits from his own business to make himself feel better (and richer). He needs the money, though, to buy more steak dinners.

Gore calls on world business leaders to push for climate deal

NEW YORK -- Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore on Sunday urged a gathering of more than 500 business leaders to push for a global agreement on curbing global warming pollution, saying "Mother Nature does not do bailouts."

"The market signals on energy are badly misleading and wrong. We do not take into account the cost of pollution," Gore told the meeting of chief executives from global industry giants, including PepsiCo Inc.

"If there is no cost to be paid for the indiscriminate dumping of pollution into the earth's atmosphere, then it should be a surprise to no one that today we will dump another 70 million tons of global warming pollution into the thin shell of atmosphere surrounding our planet," Gore said.

Hypocrite Gore INCREASES already gluttonous energy consumption!

Algore LOL! I’ve posted a few times on the hypocrisy of the Gore-Christ, the defacto papal figure who has almost single-handedly organized the stupid religion of global warming. Like many hypocritical religious leaders of the past, Gore is showing that he doesn’t walk the talk at all, from his bloat-inducing cow-munch fests; to his private jet excursions to preach to others about conservation (where he gets paid thousands for his scientifically-flawed presentations); to his estate’s monthly energy consumption (which he so caringly “offsets” by purchasing carbon credits from his own business...ha ha).

To the Nobel and Oscar committees: thanks for giving this idiot your highest honors! The Nobel and Oscar were completely cheapened by your kowtowing to the “Internet inventor” politician from Tennessee (where the majority in his own state rejected him for POTUS).

Energy Guzzled by Al Gore’s Home in Past Year Could Power 232 U.S. Homes for a Month:

NASHVILLE - In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

Czech President Klaus wants AGW debate with Gore

First, it's important to note the source of this story--earthtimes.org. Their web site says:

As such www.Earthtimes.org is a leading website that publishes news reports and the latest information relating to the human environment...
To me, this means Earth Times is part of the global warming propaganda machine. You can see it in their article below, when they put climate alarmism in quotes, but list the words "global warming" without the quotes in their rather sycophantic paragraph on Gore's "accomplishments." They state Gore's global warming resume as if it's unequivocal that his awards were legit. That's what propagandists do--they shut down debate by dismissing detractors as idiots. I contend that Gore won an Oscar and Nobel Prize for NOTHING! Both awards were just cheapened even more--so congrats liberal ding-dongs!

First, I would just tell President Klaus BRAVO! He makes some terrific points below. Second, good luck getting Al Gore to debate anything. He's an incompetent nitnoid politician--not a scientist.

Czech President Klaus ready to debate Gore on climate change | earthtimes.org:

Washington - Czech President Vaclav Klaus said Tuesday he is ready to debate Al Gore about global warming, as he presented the English version of his latest book that argues environmentalism poses a threat to basic human freedoms. "I many times tried to talk to have a public exchange of views with him, and he's not too much willing to make such a conversation," Klaus said. "So I'm ready to do it."

Gore a former US vice president who has become a leading international voice in the cause against global warming, was co-winner of this year's Nobel Peace Prize. Gore's effort was highlighted by his Oscar winning documentary film An Inconvienent Truth.

Klaus, an economist, said he opposed the "climate alarmism" perpetuated by environmentalism trying to impose their ideals, comparing it to the decades of communist rule he experienced growing up in Soviet-dominated Czechoslovakia.

"Like their (communist) predecessors, they will be certain that they have the right to sacrifice man and his freedom to make their idea reality," he said.

"In the past, it was in the name of the Marxists or of the proletariat - this time, in the name of the planet," he added.

"It could be even true that we are now at a stage where mere facts, reason and truths are powerless in the face of the global warming propaganda," he said.

Klaus alleged that the global warming was being championed by scientists and other environmentalists whose careers and funding requires selling the public on global warming.

"It is in the hands of climatologists and other related scientists who are highly motivated to look in one direction only," Klaus said.

Hollywood Hypocrites

LOL! Of course rich, spoiled, elitist celebrities don’t practice what they preach. We’ve seen this years before global warming. How many wealthy Hollywood lurkers have we seen bemoan the plight of various challenged groups (i.e., the poor, AIDS patients, homeless vets, etc.)? How many of them open up their own pocket books and dole out some solutions in the form of cash? What we mostly hear from them is hot air, which as you know is not good for global warming.

We also hear them implore us to donate!!?? I love it when rich people tell me—an average Joe with an average income—to donate and help someone else. Give me a break! Therefore Mr. and Mrs. Celebrity, stop driving SUVs and private jets! Give the environment a break! I don’t care how many carbon credits you buy from Al Gore. This especially goes for Arnold Swarz—how-ever-you-spell-it-enger and Al Gore. Al Gore, with his new Oscar, should feel right at home in the BS cauldron of Hollywood.

You hippy-crites! When it comes to saving the planet do celebrities practise what they preach?

Is the hot air emitted by celebrities when they spout ecological platitudes a greenhouse gas? If so, then the melting of the polar ice caps just moved a step closer, following calls by Trudie Styler, a leading celebrity ecological hypocrite - call them hippy-crites for short - for the general public to eat more locally grown vegetables.

Campaigning against food miles might seem an unlikely cause for Styler, given that a tribunal last year heard how she ordered her personal chef to travel over 100 miles to make a bowl of pasta for her youngest child and has sold olive oil and honey from her Tuscan estate, Il Palagio, 1,000 or so miles away, in Harrods in London.

EPA scientists pressured to bias their results

Still question whether politics is currently corrupting science? A usual tactic often employed by these political elements is to recognize the truth and then claim the opposite: here, the NYT is telling us that politics is corrupting science, EXCEPT that the boogeyman is portrayed as CONSERVATIVE politics that is choosing to ignore “consensus science.” (Funny, because, right now, conservative elites are jumping on the bandwagon just like liberals.)

As a non-consensus scientist, let me state this fact:

There is NO SUCH THING AS CONSENSUS IN SCIENCE! Science DOES NOT work like an L.A. street gang. (Google “Galileo” or Google “Darwin” to read about mavericks who resisted the consensus—and were RIGHT!)

This article couldn't be more poignant at pointing out how politics is currently attempting to corrupt science for its own ends; right now, the lie of manmade global warming has become the centerpiece of worldwide climate politics and environmental movements (not climate science). It's surprising to see the AP publishing this rather frank admission, when they have been guilty of propagandizing this issue themselves for years.

Basically, these EPA scientists are saying, through a survey instrument (which they were initially told not to answer), that federal politicians have been trying to coax and intimidate certain results or answers out of the scientists, so that the politicians would be free to scream “consensus science” when confronted with debate and argument over proposed U.S. and U.N. environmental policies—policies that will cost you money and will increase the power of the politicians involved. In the process, many scientists have begun to wake up and realize that they're corrupting an institution that they've been charged with protecting—the unbiased, untainted scientific search for truth.

REAL climate science is currently under attack. Radical political and environmental elements have seized an opportunity in the theory of human-induced climate change—a theory that, regardless of the way it's portrayed by Al Gore and the media, is still not proven beyond scientific doubt. On the contrary, there are many problems

What's the point?

First, straight up: I'm a skeptic of manmade "global warming" or "climate change." I'm a denier, if you will. Go ahead and slap a swastika on my forehead and brand me with names, if it makes you feel better, believers and alarmists! We "deniers" have names for you too. Advocate warmaholics are like Jonestown cultist lunatics, from my perspective, except that the Rev. Jim Jones has been replaced by Al Gore. His followers have disavowed debate based on his very command, and they've lost all sense of scientific reasoning; they only see the science and empirical evidence that supports their position, while they ignore any science and empiricism that makes it clear--global warming is global garbage, and the media is complicit in the sham.

I've been collecting an ever-increasing quantity of articles on the subjects of global warming and the now en-vogue "climate change" for well over a year now, and the number of articles and stories has grown exponentially and the tone more and more desperate, as we enter the tenth year since the so-called "warmest year on record." (1998) Originally, I was collecting these tidbits with the idea of writing a book, but that's really already been done by others who are probably better at it than I am. So, I figured I would start a blog to take out my frustrations over this utterly stupid fearmongering.

You warmaholics go ahead and drink the kool-aid; this blog will serve as a testament both now and in the future to define what can happen to people who refuse to waste good glucose to feed their own brains, and therefore, reason. When all the hoopla ends (just as it did with Y2K, SARs, and other media-hyped portents of doom), this blog will be here to remind you that you were sheep and turned your thinking over to someone else.

Why am I hoarding global warming articles from Reuters, AP, and other news outlets as if they were gold rush nuggets? My first idea was to be able to remind the world at a later date what the media and politician's once said, once it was shown that anthropogenic global warming (AGW) IS NOT HAPPENING; for some reason, the public tends to quickly forget what was once proclaimed as gospel, and the media and politicians capitalize on this laziness. Examples include the media articles of the early 70s that proclaimed the coming new ice age; in less than thirty years, the media forgot what they once said and were now expounding the opposite in terms of climate. They certainly were embarrassed to be reminded of their stupidity, so they reacted by either not discussing their past mistake or simply quibbling over the details.

I want people to remember that these "trusted leaders" and "purveyors of truth" once told us we were headed for doomsday. Maybe people will learn that the media really does take up positions--they don't just tell us the facts, as they often claim, and I hope people already know that politicians are out for power, no matter the political affiliation; the more we depend on government to solve our problems, the more powerful it becomes. And remember, we're supposed to be "the government." (Government of the people, by the people, for the people...remember?)

The point is to point out how the media and certain political groups have chosen to hype this issue, even with the oft-ignored, growing evidence to the contrary (from scientists...and scientists who ARE NOT ALL AFFILIATED WITH "BIG OIL," as Al Gore would lead you to believe). All serious scientists in the world collectively groan when they hear the "inventor of the Internet" extoll pseudo-science that is so flawed that it's laughable. His movie is inconveniently wrong; his Nobel Prize win is laughable and proves that the award no longer means what it once did. His Oscar? Who cares? A bunch of liberal elites giving a meaningless award to another liberal elite is meaningless.

Let me just say now that, as a molecular biologist, I don't believe in man-made climate change, as it is currently proselytized in the media. I believe the climate changes naturally--it has and always will. The media has taken a pseudo-scientific, politically-connected "consensus" (science has never been about consensus) and has attempted to turn us all into zombie-sheep who desperately need some entity to step in and save us from ourselves.

Though there are claims to the contrary about political motives (from people like the Weather Channel's Heidi Cullen), make no mistake--this is a political issue. The volume of weekly news articles, television programs, and movies, fed to us with an increasingly desperate tone, make it clear: the media has so bought into this that they cannot back out now--if they repeat it enough, it will become mythological truth to the faithful, even if shown to be wrong by an ignored body of climatologists. That's already happening, but most media sources are obviously not convinced by the contrary scientific positions, thus they've so far chosen to ignore the evidence that doesn't fit their agenda. That's real denial!

What's required to "fix the problem" has already been proposed in a few articles, which I will discuss in later posts. Basically, more government revenue is needed from the "big offenders." (Translation: you fat, lazy Americans need to pay up for poisoning the Earth.)

This is about bigger government, except that it has now morphed into a global plan; there appears to be a move afoot to empower the United Nations as the arbiter of accepted, environmentally ideal behavior. The U.N. wants to become a socialist entity that the public feels must be relied on to save us from our "capitalistic transgressions."

This really is just an old political duel--this is capitalism versus socialism all over again; they've merely dressed it up in new clothing to distract everyone. Don't be fooled...oil is the lifeblood of capitalism, and oil is under direct threat now from socialist elements. We should reduce our dependence on foreign oil to enhance our security, but WE CANNOT eliminate our need for oil. If we do it as quickly as demanded by the climate alarmists (remember, we must ACT NOW before it's too late), the world economy will face disaster. Liberal elites need disaster (or heck, even perceived and believed doom) to create and foster governmental dependence. What they really need is another "Great Depression" to fight off the "conservative hoards" via the introduction of a new New Deal.

Pay no attention to that Al Gore behind that curtain!
