New Term: Gore-pocrite

Al Gore has been caught in hypocritical climate behavior so many times now that he deserves a new term: Gore-pocrite!

Recently, Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore toured again. Or maybe he does that all the time. This time, he turned up in Gothenburg (Sweden) for the usual alarmist talk. In advance, all distinguished guests were politely advised to – if possible – use any form of public transportation to go to the event, in order to minimize CO2 emissions.

Intriguingly, the Master of World Climate himself arrived in a rental car (with or without driver is unclear), from the airport, and subsequently left the engine running for the entire lecture. That is to say, about one hour. Incidentally, local legislation prohibits – for very good environmental reasons, i e pollution – any car engine running on empty for more than 60 seconds. Fines are severe. As far as I know, he was not fined.

It starts to form a pattern.

Global warming stupidity backfiring

...or maybe it isn't, if one's goal is to cause and sustain an economic recession. After all, Bill Clinton said the economy needed to be slowed to fight global warming . So, here we go! We're already seeing the results of what will happen to capitalism as this stupid cult movement becomes entrenched in the psyches of sheep worldwide, and those sheep hand over power to the "government" to save them from doom. When we let the liberals run our lives for us and "save us from doom," we're frickin' doomed. Get ready to enjoy a proletarian lifestyle!

Tax means fewer travellers at main Dutch airport: report:

Some 50,000 fewer passengers are expected to use Amsterdam Schiphol airport, one of Europe's busiest, this summer on account of a Dutch environmental tax on flights, it was reported Saturday.

"We're expected zero growth in 2008, and in fact a decrease (in passenger numbers) in July and August," an airport spokesman was quoted as saying by the domestic ANP news agency.

The Netherlands is the only country that levies an environmental tax on flights departing the country -- 11.25 euros per passenger (17.75 dollars) for European destinations and 45 euros for intercontential points.

With higher fuel prices pushing up air fares worldwide, travel industry experts say the tax will hurt business at Schiphol and see many Dutch travellers go to nearby German airports instead.

GASP!: Everything is spinning out of control!

Chicken-LittleOh, my word! Chicken Little screams, "THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING!" Give me a break!

The Associated Press has managed to publish the ultimate portent of doom. And of course, they've managed to work in global warming in a plethora of creative ways. Just see my highlights and links in their article below to see how far the fear-mongering press has come in programming you to BE AFRAID.

Be afraid...be VERY AFRAID! Make AP happy. Read other posts in the GASP! series and witness the media's fear-based approach to get you fired up about the global warming cult.

Everything seemingly is spinning out of control | AP:

Is everything spinning out of control? Midwestern levees are bursting. Polar bears are adrift. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Home values are abysmal. Air fares, college tuition and health care border on unaffordable. Wars without end rage in Iraq, Afghanistan and against terrorism.

***

Floods engulf Midwestern river towns. Is it global warming, the gradual degradation of a planet's weather that man seems powerless to stop or just a freakish late-spring deluge?

It hardly matters to those in the path. Just ask the people of New Orleans who survived Hurricane Katrina. They are living in a city where, 1,000 days after the storm, entire neighborhoods remain abandoned, a national embarrassment that evokes disbelief from visitors.

Food is becoming scarcer and more expensive on a worldwide scale, due to increased consumption in growing countries such as China and India and rising fuel costs. That can-do solution to energy needs — turning corn into fuel — is sapping fields of plenty once devoted to crops that people need to eat. Shortages have sparked riots. In the U.S., rice prices tripled and some stores rationed the staple.

Residents of the nation's capital and its suburbs repeatedly lose power for extended periods as mere thunderstorms rumble through. In California, leaders warn people to use less water in the unrelenting drought.

Hollywood Hypocrites

LOL! Of course rich, spoiled, elitist celebrities don’t practice what they preach. We’ve seen this years before global warming. How many wealthy Hollywood lurkers have we seen bemoan the plight of various challenged groups (i.e., the poor, AIDS patients, homeless vets, etc.)? How many of them open up their own pocket books and dole out some solutions in the form of cash? What we mostly hear from them is hot air, which as you know is not good for global warming.

We also hear them implore us to donate!!?? I love it when rich people tell me—an average Joe with an average income—to donate and help someone else. Give me a break! Therefore Mr. and Mrs. Celebrity, stop driving SUVs and private jets! Give the environment a break! I don’t care how many carbon credits you buy from Al Gore. This especially goes for Arnold Swarz—how-ever-you-spell-it-enger and Al Gore. Al Gore, with his new Oscar, should feel right at home in the BS cauldron of Hollywood.

You hippy-crites! When it comes to saving the planet do celebrities practise what they preach?

Is the hot air emitted by celebrities when they spout ecological platitudes a greenhouse gas? If so, then the melting of the polar ice caps just moved a step closer, following calls by Trudie Styler, a leading celebrity ecological hypocrite - call them hippy-crites for short - for the general public to eat more locally grown vegetables.

Campaigning against food miles might seem an unlikely cause for Styler, given that a tribunal last year heard how she ordered her personal chef to travel over 100 miles to make a bowl of pasta for her youngest child and has sold olive oil and honey from her Tuscan estate, Il Palagio, 1,000 or so miles away, in Harrods in London.

Here, have another cup of FEAR, travelers

Subway

AGW is "causing" everything else wrong in the world, so let's go ahead and make this terrifying portent too. Beware, all the roads, rails, and bridges will be flooded or fail because of global warming...which doesn't exist...because it's a big sham.

Yep, they're ignoring the erasure of all the "warming" this past winter season. Predictable. What happens to all these idiots when they can't ignore the truth any longer?

The Associated Press: Global Warming to Affect Transport:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Flooded roads and subways, deformed railroad tracks and weakened bridges may be the wave of the future with continuing global warming, a new study says.

Climate change will affect every type of transportation through rising sea levels, increased rainfall and surges from more intense storms, the National Research Council said in a report released Tuesday.

Complicating matters, people continue to move into coastal areas, creating the need for more roads and services in the most vulnerable regions, the report noted.
