CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., July 26 (Reuters) - A Canadian astronaut aboard the International Space Station said on Sunday it looks like Earth's ice caps have melted a bit since he was last in orbit 12 years ago.

Bob Thirsk, who is two months into a planned six-month stay aboard the station, said he is mostly in awe when he looks out the window, particularly at the sliver of atmosphere wrapped around the planet.

"It's a very thin veil of atmosphere around the Earth that keeps us alive," Thirsk said during an in-flight news conference. "Most of the time when I look out the window I'm in awe. But there are some effects of the human destruction of the Earth as well."

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Today's snow has moved New Hampshire up a notch in the list of all-time snowy winters, making this the snowiest winter in 135 years.

The National Weather Service says that as of 7 a.m., an inch of snow had fallen in Concord from the latest storm. That inch moved the state into third place for all-time snowfall, at 113.4 inches. It hasn't snowed this much since the winter of 1872-73.

While seals continue "dying" in the Antarctic due to AGW-created melting ice, seal hunters in Canada have a different, opposing problem. Huh?

But my question is: why just move the start point north for lack of snow? Wouldn't the entire race need to be moved northward? Could there be a lack of snow there? How'd they judge that? And why didn't they come down south here to the CONUS to pick up all the snow they wanted? Or heck, see the above article...they could have just trucked some up from Canada.

Point is, if warming caused a lack of snow in Alaska for the Iditarod as the LA Times claims, what's caused the over abundance of snow everywhere else in the world?

Minus 30 degrees Celsius. That's how cold it's been in large parts of western Greenland where the population has been bundling up in hats and scarves. But how do these new reports fit in with continual reports that ice in the Arctic Ocean has been melting at a record rate due to increasing temperatures? And isn't global warming at the top of the political agenda these years?

You have to understand that they can't let this go; too many professional reputations hang in the balance and too many gloom-and-doom news stories have been written to profess our coming peril. Notice when it's really cold, excessively snowy, or demonstrating some other empirical evidence that is antithetical to AGW, "the experts" say we're only in a temporary hiatus from global warming--it will PROBABLY be back next year. Meanwhile, if we have a severe tornado outbreak or a really bad hurricane, they IMMEDIATELY say it's proof of manmade climate change. Surely, the simplest of idiots can see through this hypocrisy and chicanery. If empirical evidence can mean one thing, surely the opposite of it can mean another!
