Greenhouse Gases Drop to 15-Yr Low

Remember when prominent liberals said that we needed to cool the U.S. economy to fight global warming?!? Weird how the mainstream liberal media doesn’t follow-up on those earlier proclamations, now that people are struggling in this limp economy. Why aren’t Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Browner, and other liberals all proclaiming their efforts at fighting climate change a success by the crippling of the U.S. economy through socialist policies? Hmmm? Anyone?

Thulsa Doom Obama is getting what he wanted. High fuel prices. Government dependence. Higher debt and deficits. But lower carbon emissions. This country is heading to hell.

In total, in 2009 emissions of the greenhouse gases, which are linked to climate change, were the equivalent of 6,640 metric tons of carbon dioxide, down from 7,062 metric tons in 2008 and a high of 7,265 metric tons in 2007. U.S. emissions in 2009 were more than 7% greater than 1990 levels, the report said.

WikiLeaks: US Manipulated Copenhagen

Surprised? I think not. Global warming (or whatever you want to call it now to fit reality) morphed into worldwide politics and trapped the grant-seeking climatologists along with it. See how the liberals in our government used underhanded diplomacy to force other nations into our line of thinking? Chicago politics gone global.

Hidden behind the save-the-world rhetoric of the global climate change negotiations lies the mucky realpolitik: money and threats buy political support; spying and cyberwarfare are used to seek out leverage.

The US diplomatic cables reveal how the US seeks dirt on nations opposed to its approach to tackling global warming; how financial and other aid is used by countries to gain political backing; how distrust, broken promises and creative accounting dog negotiations; and how the US mounted a secret global diplomatic offensive to overwhelm opposition to the controversial "Copenhagen accord", the unofficial document that emerged from the ruins of the Copenhagen climate change summit in 2009.

Hillary Clinton: AGW 'Unequivocal' and 'Human-induced'

You've just got to understand why they can't let this go. So much has been invested in creating this myth; so many reputations and so much money hangs in the balance, even though there is NOTHING there.

All this in an attempt to save the next Crap and Tax bill that most Americans don't want. Like that ever stopped Democrats.

WASHINGTON, April 19 (Reuters) - An environmental coalition publicized a new U.S. draft report on climate change on Monday, one week before the expected unveiling of a compromise U.S. Senate bill that aims to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

The Project on Climate Science, a coalition of environmental groups, publicized the report in advance of Earth Day on April 22, a spokeswoman said. The report was released with little fanfare on April 7 and posted on the Federal Register on April 8.

The report, a draft of the Fifth U.S. Climate Action Report that will be sent to the United Nations, says bluntly: "Global warming is unequivocal and primarily human-induced ... Global temperature has increased over the past 50 years. This observed increase is due primarily to human-induced emissions of heat-trapping gases."

Hillary Pledges $100B in Copenhagen

Hillary rides to the rescue in Copen-hating. She's pledging $100B of your money to give to poor countries for our capitalistic transgressions. One problem. She can't appropriate one red cent without Congress, and I believe that several Democrats will be trying hard to save their asses over the coming year. Obama is going to get them all fired, and he's going to get himself fired. Quoth Yoda, "At an end your reign is. And not soon enough it was."

The planet may be saved after all, and it will only cost $100 billion.

Just as the Copenhagen climate summit appeared to be on the verge of unraveling, the United States Thursday announced its support of an annual $100 billion climate protection fund, the Associated Press reports.

“The US is prepared to work with other countries toward a goal of jointly mobilizing $100 billion a year by 2020 to address the climate change needs of developing countries,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.

Clinton Apologizes to India for Climate Transgressions

I've had it! I'm tired of these apologists--going to every country on Earth and apologizing for how awful the United States is in any given political subject. We are NOT! If we were so awful, Iraqi youth wouldn't be mimicking our culture right now.

Global warming is not REAL, Hillary. Kind of like your career and experience--not REAL!

"We acknowledge now with President Obama that we have made mistakes in the United States, and we along with other developed countries have contributed most significantly to the problem that we face with climate change," she said. "We are hoping a great country like India will not make the same mistakes."

AP: Recession Has Cut Warming

The AP is attempting to vindicate the statements of prominent liberal politicians (like Clinton, Prince Charles, Chu, and Geithner), who—before the recession—said that cooling our economy was key to fighting global warming. This article is now saying that the recession (i.e., REDUCED CAPITALISM) has helped our environment by cutting CO2 emissions.

Global warming as a theory is nothing more than socialism masquerading as science, pure and simple; it’s a parlor trick designed to flabbergast the stupid among us into hating capitalism. Capitalism is destroying the Earth, after all (they’re contention…not mine).

I predicted that alarmists would try to find a way out of their lie, such that they solved global warming through their policies. The truth is that there was never a problem, so they can wait for the opportune moment to declare their solutions worked.

Global Recession Cuts Down on Global Warming

AMSTERDAM — The global recession has an up side, at least for people worried about climate change: Carbon emissions are growing more slowly than in recent years, Dutch researchers said Thursday.

But they also said the emissions of developing countries were higher than those of the industrialized world for the first time last year.

Less money in the bank, higher oil prices and a growing use of wind, solar and other renewable energy resources put a brake last year on the increase of the most common greenhouse gas blamed for global warming, said the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency.

During April Winter Storms, EPA Moves To “Halt Warming”

The looney tunes at the EPA are pressing ahead with their Draconian, anti-capitalist measures, and because of the Democrat-Obama takeover that recently occurred in our government, there doesn’t appear to be much standing in their way of succeeding.

Remember, prominent liberals of all persuasions went on record in the media within the last year stating that we had to cool our economy to fight global warming (look at previous posts about Clinton, Prince Charles, and Geithner). They got their wish, and no media outlet is doing their job and asking the tough follow-up questions: Are you pleased that the economy is now in the toilet?

This EPA-liberal alliance to regulate poot gases will only harm the economy further—not strengthen it. And they’ve told us that this is what they want.

EPA moves toward climate change regulations

WASHINGTON — In a major reversal of years of government policy, the Environmental Protection Agency on Friday proposed regulating greenhouse-gas emissions to combat global warming.

"In both magnitude and probability, climate change is an enormous problem," concluded EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson in a 130-page report. She found that projected levels of greenhouse gases "endanger the public health and welfare of current and future generations."

The finding came two years after the Supreme Court ruled the EPA had the authority to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions under the Clean Air Act.

Now the battle shifts from whether the gases should be regulated to how. The EPA's announcement puts pressure on Congress to enact its own restrictions this year, rather than leave all decisions up to the EPA.

New pollution limits seen for cars, big plants

WASHINGTON (AP) - Cars, power plants and factories could all soon face much tougher pollution limits.

The government took a major step in that direction Friday, concluding that carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases "endanger public health and welfare" under federal clean air laws, that they help cause climate change, or global warming and pose an enormous threat "in both magnitude and probability."

Meanwhile, in the very same news cycle, we see these empirical findings:

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow -- in April (Storm brings rain, strong winds to Las Vegas region)

Storm to grind on into Saturday (A strong spring storm will continue to move over Colorado on Saturday. Heavy, wet snow is expected for many areas with the most significant accumulation in the foothills and down near Monument Hill.)

GASP!: Climate 'Going Over Edge'

From the same reliable news rag, Newsweek, that brought you the “The Cooling World” in the 1970s, we get a new fear piece that--sticking with the popular media’s ‘we-refuse-to-question’ template—continues the media’s practice of proclaiming ‘global warming’ as a foregone conclusion.

Has this writer experienced the same winter that we all have? True our record-setting winter is empirical evidence, but alarmists never fail to spout empirical evidence (i.e., hurricanes, fires, floods, etc.) when it backs up their own propaganda. They also ignore the hard data that points away from manmade global warming, and they DEFINITELY ignore scientists that state the truth: AGW resides in Malarkey City.

It has become as politically incorrect to question manmade climate change as it has to be a member of the KKK.

Here’s something I absolutely promise you. Nothing is going over the edge, except for maybe our economy, which would go further over the edge if we enact any politically driven attempt to modify the climate. But hey...remember that liberals like Bill Clinton, Prince Charles, and Obama's climate czar stated that we NEEDED to shrink our economy to fight global warming; so what do they say today? Why isn't the media asking them both this tough question: Mr. Clinton and Ms. Browner, are you satisfied now that the economy is in recession?

It has become as politically incorrect to question manmade climate change as it has to be a member of the KKK. And it’s unfortunate, because the two—climate denials and racial bigotry—can’t be equated as equally reprehensible. They’re not even close.

Get more fear by reading the GASP! series and the warmlist.

Will Climate Go Over The Edge?

There is something compelling, in a ghoulish sort of way, about the notion that earth's climate may be headed toward a tipping point. The idea gained broad currency in 2007, when a panel of scientists, including Harvard environmental expert John Holdren—now the White House science adviser—warned that the planet is approaching a threshold beyond which damage to the environment would be irreversible. As policymakers work toward a climate treaty in Copenhagen in December that will include new limits on emissions, the question in the back of everyone's mind is whether an agreement can halt the warming trend, or at least stave off the worst consequences. Or is it already too late? A definitive answer isn't forthcoming, but the signs in recent months have been gloomy.

GASP!: Obama has little time left to save us

I just swallowed my tongue (and threw up in mouth a little). The AP steps in, once again, and shows just how biased and stupid they are. First, they imply that "only Obama" can save us, which is just asinine, even if global warming was real--AND IT IS NOT REAL!!! This Obama-worship is really disgusting to behold, because I realize there will be ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THIS MAN. If he controls the press then he has absolute power to do with us and our country as he pleases.

Second, the AP echos a common alarmist theme to explain the cooling weather--GLOBAL WARMING IS CAUSING THE COOLING!!! The ultimate unified dichotomy (yes...I just contradicted myself because they certainly do)!

On the fear front, they throw in "time has run out" and animals are "going extinct"--all common fear themes we've seen time and time again.

This would be funny if it wasn't so audacious. Take antithetical empirical evidence and turn it around! This way, if it's hot out then it's global warming...and if it's cold...you guess it...global warming is causing it. They win no matter which side of the zero line the temperature waveform travels. Read other GASP! posts and check the warmlist to learn how stupid this propaganda has become.

Remember what Cornell University recently said (because the AP won't tell you): GLOBAL WARMING IS OVERESTIMATED!!! The only thing time has run out on is the lie of global warming.

See below where they let slip another juicy tidbit: Some scientists "but not all" believe in global warming. Yeah...how about >31,000 scientists (including me) DON'T BELIEVE.

Besides, we should be safe now, because Bill Clinton and others said that we needed to slow the economy to fight global warming. Well, they got their wish, so we should be all fine now.

My Way News - Obama left with little time to curb global warming:

WASHINGTON (AP) - When Bill Clinton took office in 1993, global warming was a slow-moving environmental problem that was easy to ignore. Now it is a ticking time bomb that President-elect Barack Obama can't avoid.

***

"We're out of time," Stanford University biologist Terry Root said. "Things are going extinct."

***

Now some scientists, but not all, say the safe carbon dioxide level for Earth is about 10 percent below what it is now.

***
Mother Nature, of course, is oblivious to the federal government's machinations. Ironically, 2008 is on pace to be a slightly cooler year in a steadily rising temperature trend line. Experts say it's thanks to a La Nina weather variation. While skeptics are already using it as evidence of some kind of cooling trend, it actually illustrates how fast the world is warming.

Prince Charles: Climate trumps economy

Prince-CharlesThe Royal Moron speaks once more. He's really smart...like Al Gore...so we should definitely listen to him. First, he called us skeptics insane, and then he furthered his brilliance by declaring we only had 18 months to avoid disaster (he made this prediction back in May of this year, so our time is rapidly running out). Finally, he made other predictions about another subject he's equally unqualified to comment on--genetics.

We should heed the advice extracted from the vast wisdom of Charles, because he's heavily educated in climatology and received his Ph.D. from...oh, sorry, he has no Ph.D. in any science, and neither does Al Gore. Charles also divorced Diana for Camilla. Nothing more needs to be said.

Don't listen to morons, no matter how famous they are. But remember...this is right out of the liberal playbook first espoused by Bill Clinton: We must slow the economy to fight global warming. Don't believe that doom garbage.

Prince Charles says climate the real crisis | The Daily Telegraph:

BRITAIN'S Prince Charles has urged the world today to fight climate change, saying that while the global credit crunch may be temporary, the effects of the "climate crunch" were irreversible.

The heir to the British throne issued his appeal on a visit to Tokyo, where he and his wife Camilla are marking the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Britain.

"Given the current turbulence in the international financial system and the immediate and damaging effect it is having on the whole world, the credit crunch is rightly a preoccupation of vast significance and importance,'' Charles said.

"But we take our eye off the 'climate crunch' at our peril,'' he said in a speech at Japan's National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.

"While we hope and pray that the underlying strengths of the global economy will once again enable it to bounce back, the effects of climate change will be far from temporary and will, indeed, be irreversible,'' he said.

Global markets have been battered in recent weeks by a global crunch in credit as some of the world's top financial institutions crumble under the weight of toxic subprime housing loans.

Charles, who has long championed environmental causes, cited predictions by UN scientists that temperatures could rise by more than six degrees Celsius by 2100 if no action is taken.

He called it a "level unprecedented in human experience.''

Rising sea levels would "threaten the survival of coastal cities such as Tokyo, London and indeed New York,'' the prince said.

Slower Economy Will Fight AGW

Do I hear a liberal echo in here? Bill Clinton said this very thing quite a while ago: Slow down the economy to fight AGW. Fact: A slower economy should, in theory, reduce CO2 emissions. Fact: CO2 emissions are not driving worldwide climate as heralded by alarmists, because CO2 has only gone up since 1998 (the so-called hottest year on record), while global mean temperatures have declined, and, recently, they’ve plummeted, sparking fears of a new ice age for some scientists. It’s also worth mentioning that this ding-dong is a Nobel Prize winner (and remember, so is Al Gore...also a ding-dong) who advocated blocking out the sun’s light to help cool the Earth. I wonder if he’s considered that the Earth is cooling without his nitnoid plan.

Economic woes may give planet a breather:

NICOSIA (Reuters) - A slowdown in the world economy may give the planet a breather from the excessively high carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions responsible for climate change, a Nobel Prize winning scientist said on Tuesday. Atmospheric scientist Paul J Crutzen, who has in the past floated the possibility of blitzing the stratosphere with sulfur particles to cool the earth, said clouds gathering over the world economy could ease the earth's environmental burden. Slower economic growth worldwide could help slow growth of carbon dioxide emissions and trigger more careful use of energy resources, though the global economic turmoil may also divert focus from efforts to counter climate change, said Crutzen, winner of the 1995 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on the depletion of the ozone layer. "It's a cruel thing to say ... but if we are looking at a slowdown in the economy, there will be less fossil fuels burning, so for the climate it could be an advantage," Crutzen told Reuters in an interview.

GASP!: The health risks of global warming!

Seems the EPA has been featured in the news a lot lately, with complaints of government interference from both parties in attempting to bias the EPA’s findings either for or against global warming. However, after I read the article, it’s obvious what the EPA scientists believe: They’re all about global warming alarmism, even though incontrovertible scientific proof and recent empirical evidence have shown the stupidity of this hoax. Why? Read on.

...in the United States alone, the adult mortality rate DROPPED 11 points for males and DROPPED 35 points for females from 1990 to 2006! (source: World Health Organization)

You should be afraid, because the SCOTUS has given the EPA broad leeway in regulating CO2 as a pollutant. Yes, that’s right. CO2—that precious, naturally occurring gas that is a waste product for us but an essential requirement for plants—has become such a boogeyman via the farcical global warming alarmism campaign that your government is likely going to “manage it.” To “manage it,” the economy of the world will have to suffer, as we’ve been told by prominent Democrats. This ultimately means socialism moves ahead in its struggle against capitalism.

Okay, so what does global warming cause? Well, EVERYTHING! Let’s go right to the source; read the news articles yourself—it will take you WEEKS to read them all. If you believe these fear-mongering idiotic stories then you believe that global warming is worse than any plague that has ever beleaguered mankind, because the warmlist and the GASP! series show just how stupid the "blame game" has become with alarmist scientists and their sycophants--the media. Kidney stones, cannibalism, extinctions of all sorts, increased infections, just to name a few. The list is long and sordid. And stupid.

All of these awful things are ascribed to anthropogenic global warming (AGW). Global warming is allegedly caused by increasing CO2 (still a minor greenhouse gas compared to water and methane), and anthropogenic CO2 increases have been attributed to Western-styled capitalism prevailing in the world (read “American-styled” capitalism). So, how do we cure all these ills? We hurt capitalism and all things capitalistic. Very simple solution. Harm capitalism and less CO2 is emitted; return more control to “government” to help “manage” CO2, and AGW will subside. Now you can see the truth of politics in play behind this supposed “scientific endeavor” to save the planet. So, it’s truly about politics, power, and profit (the 3 Ps), including believing scientists who need to continue their federally-funded climate research indefinitely in order demand government action. Quite a little scam they're all involved in together!

Open up epidemiological journals from 1998 (the so-called highest global mean temperature ever--which is statistically hilarious to assert) and peruse the data from then until now (a decade later). On almost all fronts, world health is IMPROVING. Mortality is not increasing; people ARE LIVING LONGER THAN EVER BEFORE. The mean lifespan for human beings is expanding, not shrinking. So how does that fact jibe with what this article is portending?

If there is warming (and there's not), it's actually IMPROVING OUR LIVES according to the epidemiological evidence. The theory espoused in this article is that the alleged period of warming (since before the "really warm" 1998)--and I do mean "ALLEGED"--has hurt human health, which is the opposite of the actual statistical evidence we have on-hand. For instance, in the United States alone, the adult mortality rate DROPPED 11 points for males and DROPPED 35 points for females from 1990 to 2006! (source: World Health Organization) That's nearly the entire decade since 1998, and as you can see HEALTH IS IMPROVING!!!

And climate history has shown that true warm periods do improve the health of populations and increase economic growth; just look at the Medieval Warm Period for your historical proof (a span of time climate alarmists would like you to forget about).

When did a real news article ever say the White House “buried” something? Is this an editorial? Oh no, wait...it’s the New York Crimes. My bad...should have known. No wonder they’re near collapse.

EPA experts detail global warming's health risks

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Government scientists detailed a rising death toll from heat waves, wildfires, disease and smog caused by global warming in an analysis the White House buried so it could avoid regulating greenhouse gases.

''Risk (to human health, society and the environment) increases with increases in both the rate and magnitude of climate change,'' scientists at the Environmental Protection Agency said. Global warming, they wrote, is ''unequivocal'' and humans are to blame.

The document suggests that extreme weather events and diseases carried by ticks and other organisms could kill more people as temperatures rise.

Allergies could worsen because climate change could produce more pollen. Smog, a leading cause of respiratory illness and lung disease, could become more severe in many parts of the country. At the same time, global warming could mean fewer illnesses and deaths due to cold.

And now a warning from Sen. Inhofe

We already know that liberals and certain conservatives want to hurt our economy to "fight global warming for our grandkids" Am I lying? Bill Clinton said it himself--read it and weep. There's a ton of proof right here in this blog listing the antics of liberal alarmists, and the solutions always involve slowing, eliminating, or hindering some vestige of capitalism. Here's more proof in this article. The liberal believers at the EPA want to do all sorts of damage to our way of life (capitalism) in the name of "saving the planet." Guess what? You can't save something that IS NOT IN DANGER!

Bravo for standing up for truth, Senator Inhofe.

Tulsa World: Inhofe: EPA too powerful, could damage economy:

WASHINGTON — While others criticized the Bush administration's inaction on greenhouse gases, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe warned Friday that it has put in place a scenario that will bankrupt the U.S. economy.

A key player in the years-long debate over climate change, the Oklahoma Republican agreed that using the Clean Air Act to put new regulations in place would be an unprecedented expansion of the Environmental Protection Agency's authority that would impact every household.

"Obviously the concept of regulating carbon dioxide under the Clean Air Act is flawed and the act must be amended by Congress," Inhofe said.

"Today's notice should concern all lawmakers; no one should want the EPA to exercise the kind of power and authority that the career staff at EPA contemplates."

Last month, he said, the Senate rejected a "cap-and-trade" proposal that would allow companies to buy or sell allowances depending on their level of pollution.

"It is ironic that the EPA has proposed an even more economically destructive scheme this close to that bill's demise," Inhofe said.

"If Congress does not act, then the resulting regulations could be the largest regulatory intrusion into Americans' personal lives, a nightmare scenario.

"Big Brother is alive and well in the career ranks at the EPA."

Insurers use "global warming" to hike rates

Hurricanes. Al Gore was one of the original proponents of this flawed theory; Hurricanes aren’t spurned by global warming, especially since global warming is a stupid sham being propped up by nutjobs. Want proof? There’s a lot of anecdotal evidence that Al Gore is a lunatic, but if one looks here at my posts on hurricanes, you can find expert opinions and evidence that Mr. Gore has chosen to ignore since “horrible” hurricane seasons (post-Katrina) failed to materialize as predicted.

What have we heard on the U.S. coastlines since Hurricane Katrina, which Gore implied was fed by global warming in his stupid movie?

“Cricket, cricket!”
The AGW alarmist’s response to these subsequent “non-seasons” following continued predictions to the contrary?
“Cricket, cricket!”
What would be the outcry if there had been devastating storms since 2005? We all know the answer, because EVERYTHING IS CAUSED BY GLOBAL WARMING. The hurricane seasons continue to defy even Dr. Gray’s often-praised predictions, proving once again the arrogant fallibility of man in conducting prophecy on Mother Nature.

AGW becomes a convenient way to raise rates or eliminate hurricane insurance coverage within the insurance industry.

Cyclones are fed and strengthened in-part by warm oceans waters, but they originate from thunderstorms that are formed by contrasting temperature gradients (mixing of COLD AND HOT air masses). Note again—COLD AND HOT air coming together, not just HOT. The stronger the contrast between air masses, the stronger the resulting thunderstorms. I’m not even a meteorologist and I know this. Incidentally, tornados come from thunderstorms too, so they are also NOT CAUSED BY GLOBAL WARMING, even if Senator Kerry says they are (and he’s not a meteorologist either).

So, what’s happening now? What I told you about earlier. Those who jump on the AGW bandwagon are either blind, unthinking followers, looking to make a buck somehow, or they have some other personal agenda they’re keeping close to the vest. In this case, AGW becomes a convenient way to raise rates or eliminate hurricane insurance coverage within the insurance industry; it's simply profiteering. See? AGW solutions and adjustments will only harm the American consumer and hurt the economy, which Bill Clinton openly stated was necessary to “save the planet for our grandkids.” Give me a break!

Hurricane Watch: Insurers Criticized for New Rate Models | WSJ:

Scientists say the jury is still out on whether rising sea temperatures will cause more hurricanes to hit U.S. coastlines. Yet some insurance companies are boosting premiums based on assumptions that they will. Others are withdrawing from coastal communities altogether.

Global warming stupidity backfiring

...or maybe it isn't, if one's goal is to cause and sustain an economic recession. After all, Bill Clinton said the economy needed to be slowed to fight global warming . So, here we go! We're already seeing the results of what will happen to capitalism as this stupid cult movement becomes entrenched in the psyches of sheep worldwide, and those sheep hand over power to the "government" to save them from doom. When we let the liberals run our lives for us and "save us from doom," we're frickin' doomed. Get ready to enjoy a proletarian lifestyle!

Tax means fewer travellers at main Dutch airport: report:

Some 50,000 fewer passengers are expected to use Amsterdam Schiphol airport, one of Europe's busiest, this summer on account of a Dutch environmental tax on flights, it was reported Saturday.

"We're expected zero growth in 2008, and in fact a decrease (in passenger numbers) in July and August," an airport spokesman was quoted as saying by the domestic ANP news agency.

The Netherlands is the only country that levies an environmental tax on flights departing the country -- 11.25 euros per passenger (17.75 dollars) for European destinations and 45 euros for intercontential points.

With higher fuel prices pushing up air fares worldwide, travel industry experts say the tax will hurt business at Schiphol and see many Dutch travellers go to nearby German airports instead.

Obama: We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want!

Just so that you're aware (even though you might be infatuated with goo-goo eyes and Beatle-esque fainting spells), Obama is as full of crap about global warming as McCain, Bush, and Clinton. They're all idiots on this subject of so-called "unassailable science."

The socialists are coming for your affluence, America. Are you going to let them just take it from you, or are you going to resist them?

AFP: Obama camp spies endgame in Oregon:

Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.

Clinton: Ignore experts when I say so

This is quite telling; I wonder if anyone else will pick up on it. Here we have an avowed believer in global warming alarmism, a theory which stands only on the authority of "consensus" experts--elites, if you will. Mrs. Clinton should be well acquainted with the subject of elitism, since she happens to be a Jedi Master of said subject.

Now, when it's politically expedient, she urges the media to discount what the experts say and embrace the opinions and desires of "average folk." The implication is that the citizenry knows better than any expert economist when it comes to lowering gas prices.

I actually agree with her on this in some respects (gas taxes stink and drive up the costs for us all), but I especially agree when applying her same standard of elitist-dismissal to global warming theory. People aren't stupid. You can tell them there's human-induced global warming until you're blue in the face (based on the fact that you’re smarter than they are and know better), but empirical evidence (never mind all the scientific evidence we’ve seen from other experts) means a lot to the average citizen. People are aware of the harsh winter we just had; they’re not dumbbells.

Clinton discounts economists in gas tax debate

Pressed to name an economist who supports her plan to temporarily suspend the federal gas tax, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said today that commuters, truck drivers and other gas customers know it would make a difference.

“We have to get out of the mindset where somehow elite opinion is always on the side of doing things that really disadvantage the vast majority of Americans,” Clinton said during an appearance on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. “I’m not going to put my lot in with economists because I know if we did it right ... we would design it in such a way that it would be implemented effectively.”

Next Prez will push AGW action

Any of the potential POTUS candidates will likely meddle where they shouldn't after the next election, so make sure you let your elected officials in Congress know where you stand, if you're like me and think this is all fearmongering garbage.

My question isn't for the liberal Democrats, who I expect to back any crisis--real or otherwise--that will allow them to grow government programs and agencies. However, John McCain better realize who will elect his ass and lay off this global warming nonsense. Hopefully, the illegal immigrant fiasco has taught the would-be Democrat in GOP clothing a lesson.

FOXNews.com - Global Warming: Is It Really a Crisis? - Opinion:

John McCain, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton all promise massive new regulations that will cost trillions of dollars to combat global warming. McCain says that it will be his first task if he wins the presidency. After consulting with Al Gore, Obama feels the problem is so imminent that it is not even really possible to wait until he becomes president.

Ironically, this political unanimity is occurring as global temperatures have been cooling dramatically over the last decade.

Global temperatures have now largely eliminated most of the one degree Celsius warming that had previously occurred over the last 100 years. Hundreds of climate scientists have warned that there is not significant man-made global warming.

Slick Willy: Slow down economy to fight AGW

ClintonBill Clinton stepped in global warming stupidity at a recent campaign speech in CO.

Political Punch:

"And maybe America, and Europe, and Japan, and Canada -- the rich counties -- would say, 'OK, we just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions 'cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren.' We could do that.
This political theme is seen over and over again in the arguments from proponents of AGW: we've got to act now; we've got to save the planet for our grandchildren; we need more government resources (i.e., taxes from you) to fight AGW. You see these themes all the time from politicians who claim this "scientifically sound" policy isn't about politics--it's about saving the planet from you--the ignorant capitalist sheep who've caused all of this. They bitch at you, but they don't want to do anything themselves, so they buy "carbon credits" from companies they own, which is about the stupidest bull crap I've ever seen. If any of you are falling for these shenanigans then you're a dolt.

And these power-seeking politicians claim that scientists, not themselves, are driving the governments of the world to do something about AGW. Except that these particular scientists (those thoroughly onboard with the religion of global warming) need some of your tax dollars in the form of government research grants to make sure that they can remain healthy capitalists (shhhh!). The large number of scientists who denounce the theory of AGW, including some of those originally on the UN's IPCC, are denigrated and called oil company sycophants.

Problem is that there is no problem; the problem is a fart in the wind, literally and figuratively. Those who have power want only one thing more than power--to retain and grow their power. If you're scared that our greenhouse gas emissions are rapidly destroying the planet, you'll need to put them in charge of doing something about it. Then they'll need more revenue to do something about it. Voila! Power consolidation at its sneakiest.

There are mega-problems with the theory of manmade global warming. Dig around and you'll find all you can handle, and it's scientific evidence--not empirical evidence, which is what the news media shoves down your throat all the time. If it's "unusually warm" (whatever that is) the media either blatantly says or clandestinely implies it's manmade global warming; if it's "unusually cold," (again, huh?) they tell you it's driven by manmade climate change (aka global warming). If we have a strong hurricane season, they say we did it with our greenhouse gases; oops...except the hurricane seasons haven't cooperated for the past two years...sorry Gore-Christ, guess you'll need to edit your Oscar-winning movie.
