Dumb "Scientific" Endeavors

Please read “The Cooling World” article from Newsweek, 1973. Back then, climate scientists were warning that a climate catastrophe would soon envelope the world; of course, “global cooling” was the cause back then—we were going to freeze to death.

Read it very carefully and notice some of the solutions these idiots dreamed up. They were going to cover the poles in black soot to absorb sunlight, heat up the Earth, and melt the ice, LOL! We’ve heard similar stupid ideas on hurricanes, where scientists have proposed all sorts of hilarious solutions to stop them from forming, prevent strengthening, or “turn them off.”

German researchers? They were in the news recently before this article, and what I read then was equally amusing. Did you know that CO2 may be beneficial to plants?!

We’re pathetic if we think we cause any NATURAL climate variability, and we’re really quite dense if we think we can do ANYTHING to reverse the power of this natural Earth. We’re nothing to this place we call home, though we arrogantly believe we are somehow “in-charge.”

Germans try to slow glacier melt with giant screen

German researchers trying to slow melting glaciers have set up a large screen in the Swiss Alps that they hope will trap cold air over the icy mass, Johannes Gutenberg University said Thursday.

"We hope our installations will bring about a net cooling of the area. And if the melt is not stopped, that it is at least slowed," the project's leader, geography professor Hans-Joachim Fuchs, said in a statement.

The structure, 15 metres long and three metres high (49 feet by 10 feet), was raised in the middle of the Rhone glacier in Switzerland's southwestern Valais region by 27 students from the German university.
