Patronage Alive-and-Well with EPA Rules

Thulsa Doom Obama--in true Chicago-thug fashion--is sidestepping Congress and using the EPA to institute global warming governance, which will harm the economy even more than it's already harmed. Just as Obama has issued many 'exemptions' for Obamacare to select unions and other supportive entities, he's going to do the same with the EPA rules that will harm other businesses. It's strong-arm politics designed to get the one with the strong arm what he wants. In this case, the Chicago thug is obvious.

Maybe GE CEO Jeff Immelt's closeness to President Obama, and his broad support for Obama's agenda, had nothing to do with this exemption. But we have no way of knowing that, and given the administration's record of regularly misleading Americans regarding lobbyists, frankly, I wouldn't trust the White House if they told me there was no connection.

More poetic justice and irony. Baltimore breaks the snow record set in 1995. Winter weather records are broken in Chicago, D.C., and Philadelphia. Empirical evidence to stick in your global warming pipe and smoke.

Apparently, in an attempt to head-off the constant, recent chipping away at the global warming religion, the leftwing NYT will publish a story tomorrow that blames all these record winter blizzards on GLOBAL WARMING! That's right! When it's warm or there's NO SNOW outside, that's warming caused by heat-trapping, man-emitted greenhouse gases. And when there's a record-setting blizzard, that's warming caused by heat-trapping, man-emitted greenhouse gases. Nice scam, huh? When it's hot, it's warming. And when it's cold, it's warming. This way, the alarmist psychos never lose, LOL!

If we're really honest (and most of us who aren't 12 years old can remember the 1970s or much further back), these record weather events--blizzards, tornado outbreaks, hurricanes, and heat waves--have always happened. If we grab Almanacs and stare back even further, we see that THEY'VE ALWAYS HAPPENED. But those facts won't stop the Kool-aid drinkers. Just as the recent climatology scandals won't stop them.

New Year Brings Deadly COLD Worldwide

The empirical evidence associated with GLOBAL COOLING has piled on over the past several years, even while alarmists refuse to acknowledge it, or--laughably and ironically--they chalk all the cold weather up TO global warming (i.e., climate change revisionism). Here, the DEADLY cold weather is attacking AROUND THE WORLD, including India (again)!

Yep. In warmer periods of our history--like the Medieval Warm Period (which alarmists want you to forget about)--humans have prospered, while cold is far more deadly.

New Delhi - At least 17 people died as towns and cities in India's northern states were hit by cold weather, officials said on Friday.

"Sixteen people have died in Uttar Pradesh since early Wednesday due to cold [weather] conditions in the state. Most victims were homeless or pavement dwellers," state police spokesman G N Khanna said.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Forecasters say the coldest stretch of weather in years if not decades could be heading for North Carolina.
While temperatures won’t be falling to record lows, the National Weather Service says the duration of the cold weather is unusual. Highs could struggle to get above freezing for the next week in areas from Raleigh west.

The body of 58-year-old Raymond Blaylock was discovered at Mount Vernon Park on Thursday morning and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office says an autopsy determined he died of cold exposure and heart disease.

Another Empirical Blow to the Myth

Whenever the media touts hurricanes or heat waves, they throw in the global warming mantra. Whenever we have freak cold like we've had over the past several years, they ignore it.

Snow could be coming to town as early as this weekend. That’s right, snow. Flurries and flakes.

The forecast says that Saturday night rain will turn into the white stuff early Sunday morning.

If the snow sticks, it would be the earliest recorded measurable snowfall in Chicago. The record was set just three years ago when it snowed on Oct. 12.

Have you left your air conditioner in the closet this summer, and worn long pants more often than shorts? If so, you may not be surprised to find out that Chicago is seeing its coldest July in more than 65 years.

The National Weather Service says 2009 has seen the coldest July since the official recording station was moved away from the lakefront in 1942. The average temperature this month in Chicago has been a mere 68.9 degrees.

Illinois Has Record Cold June

Is anyone out there awake? Is anyone else seeing all this? Pounds upon pounds of empirical evidence stack up like cord wood every year, and no one is even the slightest bit swayed against this global warming stupidity?

So far, June's chill is one for the records

The cloudy, chilly and rainy open to June here has been the talk of the town. So far this June is running more than 12 degrees cooler than last year, and the clouds, rain and chilly lake winds have been persistent. The average temperature at O'Hare International Airport through Friday has been only 59.5 degrees: nearly 7 degrees below normal and the coldest since records there began 50 years ago.

Poot! The continuing slide and downfall of the stupid, bungling global warming theory. Again, this is empirical data, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander. The alarmists site empirical evidence all the time when it suits their purpose.

Oh wait...we’ve been told that colder temperatures are a sign of “warming”...oops, forgot. Or the other revisionary trick is to say that this “cooling trend” is temporary and that in 10-20 years, global warming will no longer be “masked” by the cooling of La Nina.

Temperature data produces an oscillating waveform that will vacillate between colder and warmer periods. So the alarmists have actually (and finally) made a prediction that will hold true; it will eventually get warmer, and then later cooler, and then later warmer, etc. It’s sort of like predicting that the sun will rise tomorrow, however.

Decade has had fewest 90-degree days since 1930

August is the wettest and often the muggiest month of the year. Yet, summer heat continues in short supply, continuing a trend that has dominated much of the 21st Century's opening decade. There have been only 162 days 90 degrees or warmer at Midway Airport over the period from 2000 to 2008. That's by far the fewest 90-degree temperatures in the opening nine years of any decade on record here since 1930.

This summer's highest reading to date has been just 91 degrees. That's unusual. Since 1928, only one year—2000—has failed to record a higher warm-season temperature by Aug. 13.

Deep freeze in upper midwest (with warmth disclaimer)

Of course, Chicagoans are preparing to freeze their tootsies off, and the media must begrudgingly report this fact. But not without placing a disclaimer in the second paragraph about recent warmth.

Thus far this January, people across the Chicago area have been treated to a warm spell with one day where the mercury reached a shocking 65 degrees. But with the temperatures plummeting beginning last night, Chicagoans have been preparing.

What we have here is an attempt to discredit cold empirical evidence (denoting really cold January temperatures that are normal for Chicago) using warm empirical evidence (that helps denote climate change). [In case you didn't notice the subtle shift, climate change has replaced global warming as the en vogue catch-phrase, which is meant to allow the Enviro-Zealots a way out when the temps cool off, which they know is inevitable.]

So, which empirical evidence is right? The one that supports the religion of global warming/climate change (with Al Gore as messiah), or the one that says it freakin' cold outside--even for January!

Very sly and sneaky...and stupid. People aren't buying into the hysteria, media, no matter how many corkscrew neon light bulbs you turn on to reduce your carbon footprint.

Meanwhile at the National Weather Service, Green Bay is warned of the coming wind chill problems for the weekend:
