Interesting read from someone who still espouses global warming as reality. Even they admit the doomsday predictions are WRONG.

The incorrect belief that ocean water is evenly distributed lives on in the debate over climate change, says Stammer. The rising sea level is widely viewed as the most threatening consequence of global warming. Images of Bangladeshis wading through floodwaters are a favorite horror scenario used by some environmentalists. But the reality is counter-intuitive. According to the most recent estimates, the sea level is expected to rise by about 1 meter (3.28 feet) -- on average -- in the next 100 years. Scientist Asks: Where Is Alarming Sea Level Rise?

Sir, the sea-level rise is up the alarmists' butts. That's where you can find it.

CHICAGO -- Global warming advocates say rising sea levels will soon drown Venice. But a top scientist says they're full of hot air -- and he says he’s got the data to prove it.

In a new scientific paper, Nils-Axel Morner, former emeritus head of the paleogeophysics and geodynamics department at Stockholm University in Sweden, says that observational records from around the world -- locations like the Maldives, Bangladesh, India, Tuvalu and Vanuatu -- show the sea level isn't rising at all.

Morner's research, revealed Monday at the fourth International Conference on Climate Change, demonstrates that there is no “alarming sea level rise” across the globe, and it says a U.N. report warning of coastal cities being deluged by rising waters from melting polar ice caps “is utterly wrong.”

Constantly Retreating Global Floating Ice

Remember a few summers ago (in 2008) when the North Pole was supposed to completely melt away? Well, now they've moved their prediction forward to 2050. Guess they didn't suspect someone like me would remember their flawed, stupid-assed prediction from before.

At least they're finally admitting to the Archimedes Principle, though you have to read to the bottom to avoid believing that any melted, floating ice will not raise the sea levels (or as they say "adds little"...how 'bout NONE?). Besides, Al Gore just bought a $9-million dollar home on the coast...guess he's not too concerned about all the coastal flooding he prophesies every chance he gets to earn a few thousand bucks for his Armageddon presentations.

Picking apart these stupid, liberal environmentalists over global warming is like taking candy from a baby.

The study did not shed new light on how soon the North Pole may be ice-free in summer, which many climate experts say could happen by 2050, perhaps even earlier.Melting of floating sea ice and ice shelves adds little to sea level rise, because their entire mass is already in the water. By contrast, ice on land which melts into the sea will add to levels according to the equivalent of its entire weight.

Climate Scientists Withdraw Rising Sea Level Claims

Another British media piece on the rising tide of recent global warming scandals that the U.S. mainstream media REFUSES to acknowledge or cover (except for Fox News, which still won't cover it very much). As certain scientists have been exposed, they're now frantically turning to damage control measures to mitigate the harm to themselves personally. I predicted this would happen a long time ago.

Scientists have been forced to withdraw a study on projected sea level rise due to global warming after finding mistakes that undermined the findings.

The study, published in 2009 in Nature Geoscience, one of the top journals in its field, confirmed the conclusions of the 2007 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It used data over the last 22,000 years to predict that sea level would rise by between 7cm and 82cm by the end of the century.

Announcing the formal retraction of the paper from the journal, Siddall said: "It's one of those things that happens. People make mistakes and mistakes happen in science." He said there were two separate technical mistakes in the paper, which were pointed out by other scientists after it was published. A formal retraction was required, rather than a correction, because the errors undermined the study's conclusion.

U.N. Admits Netherland-gate

Add this to all the other "errors" that the latest IPCC report contains. Every story that now admits these various climate scandals has the same disclaimer:

"...DO NOT AFFECT CORE CONCLUSIONS THAT HUMAN ACTIVITIES, LED BY BURNING FOSSIL FUELS, ARE WARMING THE GLOBE"

You'll find some version of the disclaimer listed above in every news story that MUST ADMIT flawed data or sourcing as it pertains to global warming. Why? Because they've got to keep the little fart cloud aloft somehow. Too many livelihoods, profits, and reputations are at stake to admit the lie completely.

OSLO (Reuters) - The U.N. panel of climate experts overstated how much of the Netherlands is below sea level, according to a preliminary report on Saturday, admitting yet another flaw after a row last month over Himalayan glacier melt.

A background note by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said a 2007 report wrongly stated that 55 percent of the country was below sea level since the figure included areas above sea level, prone to flooding along rivers.

The United Nations has said errors in the 2007 report of about 3,000 pages do not affect the core conclusions that human activities, led by burning fossil fuels, are warming the globe.

"The sea level statistic was used for background information only, and the updated information remains consistent with the overall conclusions," the IPCC note dated February 12 said.

Skeptics say errors have exposed sloppiness and over-reliance on "grey literature" outside leading scientific journals. The panel's reports are a main guide for governments seeking to work out costly policies to combat global warming.

Gore Admits North Pole Faux Pas

First, this is why Al Gore won't debate anyone. He knows he's pulling BS out of his butt and putting it out there as unassailable science. Down with this moron already and his alarmist accomplices. Here, Gore is taking a global warming scientist--one of the people he's counting on to save his ass--and ascribing assertions to the scientist that the scientist claims he never made. Gore is throwing one of his own under the bus just to pump up his already huge ego; this is why he turns off microphones when challenged on his stupid Power Point shows.

Second, the climate alarmists concluded in 2008 that the North Pole would melt completely IN THE SUMMER OF 2008. Guess what? IT NEVER HAPPENED. Another example of our media dropping the ball and avoiding the hard questions and EVEN HARDER follow up, after these stupid predictions don't happen. Even if it did, the Earth's sea levels WOULD NOT RISE. This is based on basic scientific knowledge--the Archimedes Principle.

Oh, and what news organization reported this? The U.K. press! Once again, they're carrying the banner where our liberal media falters.

In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”

However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.

“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”

Mr Gore’s office later admitted that the 75 per cent figure was one used by Dr Maslowksi as a “ballpark figure” several years ago in a conversation with Mr Gore.

Amid Climategate, Hypocritical Alarmists Continue Unabated

Can you say ostrich? The hypocritical Alarmist-in-Chief Al Gore is still making his usual ridiculous assertions following the Climategate scandal, but it's been a while since the RINO hypocrite Schwarzenegger stuck his foot in his mouth. Here, the Governater unveils a predicted flood map of San Francisco; man, most of those folks in California are just living on another planet from the rest of us.

So, I think we have our answer. The alarmist and boondoggle crowd isn't about to give up the charade. Their faith in the global warming religion is unshaken.

Even if a deal is reached at the UN climate change talks in Copenhagen next week it will only be the first step towards the far more radical cuts that are needed in global carbon emissions, Al Gore, the former US Vice-President, told The Times last night.

Mr Gore said that to avoid the worst ravages of climate change world leaders would have to come together again to set more drastic reductions than those now planned.

“Even a final treaty will have to set the stage for other tougher reductions at a later date,” he said. “We have already overshot the safe levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.”

A map of how California will be affected by climate change in the future was unveiled yesterday by state governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The map, which demonstrates the devastating effects of global warming in just a century, shows how San Francisco Airport would be completely underwater if sea levels were to rise by 150cm (60in).

The coastline on the map was also coloured, highlighting how nearly half a million Californians are at risk from rising sea levels.

GASP!: Flooding Cities Will Need Dams

Yep, Climategate is raging right now, but you wouldn't know that by reading this AP article. The media is keeping faith with its alarmist allies--liberal politicians and politically-motivated, crooked scientists.

With the world losing the battle against global warming so far, experts are warning that humans need to follow nature's example: Adapt or die.

Adapting to rising seas and higher temperatures is expected to be a big topic at the U.N. climate-change talks in Copenhagen next week, along with the projected cost — hundreds of billions of dollars, much of it going to countries that cannot afford it.

GASP!: Melting Greenland to Flood U.S. Cities

It had been a few weeks, so they decided to throw another ice-melt-flooding-coastal-areas fear story out there. The pattern is that the media alternates talking about Greenland's melting ice sheet (which IS NOT melting), the Arctic, the Antarctic, and glaciers. If they repeat this ice-melt tripe enough, they figure you'll give in and think you've always known this hogwash to be true.

Now, I'll repeat my prediction, since they KEEP REPEATING theirs. NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO U.S. CITIES IF WE DO NOTHING! Case closed. There is ZERO global warming happening as a result of increased CO2.

Greenland ice could fuel severe U.S. sea level rise

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - New York, Boston and other cities on North America's northeast coast could face a rise in sea level this century that would exceed forecasts for the rest of the planet if Greenland's ice sheet keeps melting as fast as it is now, researchers said on Wednesday.

Sea levels off the northeast coast of North America could rise by 12 to 20 inches more than other coastal areas if the Greenland glacier-melt continues to accelerate at its present pace, the researchers reported.

GASP!: Warming to Cause NYC Flooding

This article takes a different tact, distancing itself from descriptions of melting polar ice, icebergs, and glaciers, where in the past these immersed icy bodies have been erroneously described as dangerous, if warming were to melt them, raise sea levels, and cause floods (see Archimedes Principle). The writer makes sure to mention only Greenland this time--"melting LAND ice."

The problem is what we saw in previous articles--Greenland's ice sheet IS NOT MELTING. Neither is the North Pole, which had been predicted to completely dissolve last summer (and DID NOT melt).

Warming to make N.Y. vulnerable to storms-study

NEW YORK, March 15 (Reuters) - Global warming should lift sea levels along the U.S. Northeast nearly twice as fast as global rates this century, putting New York City at risk to damage from hurricanes and winter storm surges, scientists said.

"The northeast coast of the United States is among the most vulnerable regions to future changes in sea level and ocean circulation, especially when considering its population density," said Jianjun Yin, a climate modeler at Florida State University.

GASP!: Never Ending Sea Rise Malarkey

Before you read this post, please go here and read about the Archimedes Principle. Let me quote his work, On Floating Bodies:

Any body wholly or partially immersed in a fluid experiences an upthrust equal to, but opposite in sense to, the weight of the fluid displaced.

This is what ship builders know as displacement related to buoyancy (i.e., a ship will displace a volume of water equal to the mass of the ship). Now, after reading that, do you understand how a chunk of ice floating (or partially immersed) in water CANNOT raise sea levels, even if every last bit of the ice were to melt or even if smaller chunks of a large floating ice mass break off and then later melt? If ice is already displacing water, it cannot and will not raise water levels if it melts. You can do this experiment in your home with a dish, some water, and some ice.

Actually, if increasing heat were causing all that ice to melt, the increasing heat would also be causing increased evaporation, and I hypothesize that sea levels WOULD ACTUALLY GO DOWN…NOT UP!

Therefore, if you still believe the thrust of this fear-provoking article below (or any of the thousands written on melting ice caused by global warming that have been written over the past several years with the intention of scaring you to death), you are a complete, utter moron.

Scientists Warn of Catastrophic Sea Level Rise

COPENHAGEN — Top climate scientists warned Tuesday that sea levels could rise twice as much as previously projected as they presented the latest research on global warming.

A 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicted a sea level rise of 7 to 23 inches by the end of the century.

But scientists meeting in Copenhagen dismissed those estimates as too conservative, saying new data suggests that sea level rise could exceed 39 inches and is unlikely to be less than 20 inches.

"This means that if the emissions of greenhouse gases is not reduced quickly and substantially even the best-case scenario will hit low-lying coastal areas housing one-tenth of humans on the planet hard," organizers said in a statement at the three-day congress hosted by the University of Copenhagen.

The melting of polar ice sheets and of glaciers are two big factors that will affect sea levels, they added.

GASP!: Venice floods sometimes

Predictably, the media manages to make some far-reaching assertions in this article. When I saw the headline, I just knew they’d bury the words “global warming” in it someplace, and I wasn’t wrong.

Venice is a city (a lot like New Orleans) built on swampy land. IT HAS ALWAYS HAD FLOODING PROBLEMS! They even tell you in the article that this is the worst flooding since 1986 (meaning it occurred then and in times before)! Global warming is NOT increasing the “severity and frequency” of floods in Venice (or anywhere else for that matter).

I wonder if the North Pole completely melted as predicted for this past summer (due to climate change)? I sure didn’t hear anything more about it in the news after the original fear piece, did you? Seems that it would have been big news. Hmmm...

The entire city, founded on a collection of marshy islands in the 5th century, suffers from periodic flooding. The growing severity and frequency of the floods is attributed to silt deposits raising the floor of the lagoon and a rise in sea levels caused by global warming.

Floods. They’ve happened since the beginnings of recorded human history, and I wager they occurred long before humans stood up and threw spears at their dinner. Midwest floods show signs of global warming

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Floods like those that inundated the U.S. Midwest are supposed to occur once every 500 years but this is the second since 1993, suggesting flawed forecasts that do not take global warming into account, conservation experts said on Tuesday.

"Although no single weather event can be attributed to global warming, it's critical to understand that a warming climate is supplying the very conditions that fuel these kinds of weather events," said Amanda Staudt, a climate scientist with the National Wildlife Federation.

Floods and droughts make mild diseases deadly | Reuters:

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Extreme floods and droughts brought on by climate change can turn normally harmless infections into significant threats, international researchers said on Tuesday.

They said weather extremes can create conditions in which several fairly harmless diseases converge at once, creating a "one-two punch" that can devastate populations of wildlife or livestock.

Many researchers have predicted that climate changes brought on by heat-trapping carbon dioxide emissions could alter traditional relationships between pathogens and their hosts, making normally benign diseases more deadly.

Is everything spinning out of control? Midwestern levees are bursting. Polar bears are adrift. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Home values are abysmal. Air fares, college tuition and health care border on unaffordable. Wars without end rage in Iraq, Afghanistan and against terrorism.

Floods engulf Midwestern river towns. Is it global warming, the gradual degradation of a planet's weather that man seems powerless to stop or just a freakish late-spring deluge?

It hardly matters to those in the path. Just ask the people of New Orleans who survived Hurricane Katrina. They are living in a city where, 1,000 days after the storm, entire neighborhoods remain abandoned, a national embarrassment that evokes disbelief from visitors.

Food is becoming scarcer and more expensive on a worldwide scale, due to increased consumption in growing countries such as China and India and rising fuel costs. That can-do solution to energy needs — turning corn into fuel — is sapping fields of plenty once devoted to crops that people need to eat. Shortages have sparked riots. In the U.S., rice prices tripled and some stores rationed the staple.

Residents of the nation's capital and its suburbs repeatedly lose power for extended periods as mere thunderstorms rumble through. In California, leaders warn people to use less water in the unrelenting drought.

GASP!: Kiribati doomed by climate change?

This story is so easy to poke holes in that it's like taking candy from a baby. Kiribati is an atoll, which if you are unaware is a volcanically-engineered islet that has basically been been built up by coral reef formation; it is not a classic island or land mass, like Japan for example.

Kiribati is not the only atoll in existence, and it is definitely not the only island or ocean-surrounded land mass in existence. If global warming-induced water rise is flooding it, what about the other surrounding atolls in the Pacific (and elsewhere)? Are they flooding and disappearing? Are other worldwide coastal areas flooding at the same rate?

Since this atoll is in the Pacific (where La Nina is currently driving global cooling for 10 years - ahem), and since this past record cold winter cooled the global mean temperature 0.7 degrees, why is Kiribati still flooding? If we're going to cool for 10 years (because of La Nina's "masking effect" on global warming), won't all rising water reverse for at least a decade?

I'm not denying that certain coastal areas erode or flood (look at New Orleans--a problem since its beginning). What about Venice? We know that we have flooded coastal areas, because we've seen the archaeological evidence. So is that a normal consequence of NORMAL climate change, or is human intervention speeding these processes? I assert that humans ARE NOT WARMING THE EARTH AND MELTING MORE POLAR ICE. CO2, even in increasing concentrations because of emissions, remains a MINOR GREENHOUSE GAS compared to H2O and methane.

AFP: Kiribati likely doomed by climate change: president:

WELLINGTON (AFP) — The president of the low-lying Pacific atoll nation of Kiribati said Thursday his country may already be doomed because of climate change.

"Where they have been living over the past few decades is no longer there, it is being eroded."

"At two degrees of global warming we are already destroying the places that people have called their homes for hundreds, sometimes thousands of years," he added.

The focus of attempts to reach a global deal to replace the Kyoto plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions moved to Bonn, Germany, this week where 2,400 negotiators are trying to hammer out an agreement to be signed by the end of next year.

Steiner said governments and individuals should not ignore climate change because of current crises over soaring food and oil prices.

EPA scientists pressured to bias their results

Still question whether politics is currently corrupting science? A usual tactic often employed by these political elements is to recognize the truth and then claim the opposite: here, the NYT is telling us that politics is corrupting science, EXCEPT that the boogeyman is portrayed as CONSERVATIVE politics that is choosing to ignore “consensus science.” (Funny, because, right now, conservative elites are jumping on the bandwagon just like liberals.)

As a non-consensus scientist, let me state this fact:

There is NO SUCH THING AS CONSENSUS IN SCIENCE! Science DOES NOT work like an L.A. street gang. (Google “Galileo” or Google “Darwin” to read about mavericks who resisted the consensus—and were RIGHT!)

This article couldn't be more poignant at pointing out how politics is currently attempting to corrupt science for its own ends; right now, the lie of manmade global warming has become the centerpiece of worldwide climate politics and environmental movements (not climate science). It's surprising to see the AP publishing this rather frank admission, when they have been guilty of propagandizing this issue themselves for years.

Basically, these EPA scientists are saying, through a survey instrument (which they were initially told not to answer), that federal politicians have been trying to coax and intimidate certain results or answers out of the scientists, so that the politicians would be free to scream “consensus science” when confronted with debate and argument over proposed U.S. and U.N. environmental policies—policies that will cost you money and will increase the power of the politicians involved. In the process, many scientists have begun to wake up and realize that they're corrupting an institution that they've been charged with protecting—the unbiased, untainted scientific search for truth.

REAL climate science is currently under attack. Radical political and environmental elements have seized an opportunity in the theory of human-induced climate change—a theory that, regardless of the way it's portrayed by Al Gore and the media, is still not proven beyond scientific doubt. On the contrary, there are many problems
