Animal Death-Watch: All male fish!

LOL! It’s comical. Okay, I know it’s getting old, but please look at the warmlist and pay attention to the section on extinctions being attributed to global warming, and while you’re at it, look at our Animal Death-Watch series to discern just how many animals we evil humans are killing off by just breathing and pooting out more greenhouse gases.

Oh, I know...fossil fuels. But the culprit is supposedly a byproduct of fossil fuel usage—that ever-present gas called CO2 that
plants just love to use to make O2 for us to breath via photosynthesis. CO2 is a greenhouse gas. It is increasing in our atmosphere. It is STILL a minor greenhouse gas compared to water vapor and methane, however, even in increasing amounts. CO2 has gone up over the past ten years while temperatures (if measurements are even accurate) have gone down (and plummeted over the past year).

Therefore, realize that GLOBAL WARMING IS
NONSENSE AND NON-EXISTENT, even though the propaganda machine is trying to hold on to the pipedream as if we “doubters” are worthless sub-humans that don’t deserve to be taken seriously. The British have already beaten us Americans to sanity (70% of Brits disbelieve in global warming versus 50% of Americans). I guess we Americans are more susceptible to media stories that tell us how to think and what to believe; I applaud the British for using their brains.

Global Warming's Fish-Sex Effect:

Once scientists began studying the impact of global warming on everything from tourism to asthma, it was only a matter of time before they got around to sex. Now two biologists at Spain's Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) have done just that, at least when it comes to fish.

You may have missed it in biology class, but in some finned species, like the Atlantic silverside — as well as in many reptiles — sex is determined not by genetics but by temperature: the undifferentiated embryo develops testes or ovaries on the basis of whichever option conveys evolutionary advantages for that particular environment.

Now, in a study published in the July 30 edition of the scientific journal Public Library of Science, Natalia Ospina-Alvarez and Francesc Piferrer have gone a little further in explaining how that mechanism works. In laboratory tests, they have demonstrated that higher water temperatures result in more male fish.

News Flash: Plants like CO2

I'm sure my fellow life science aficionados will enjoy learning that CO2 is good for plants. I believe this is basic scientific knowledge with which most high school freshman are thoroughly familiar--photosynthesis, of which CO2 is a key ingredient.

These German scientists are obviously brilliant, especially when you read the climate disclaimer they made sure to insert below (which I've bolded for you). They don't want you (or their brainwashed colleagues) getting any funny ideas about their results; CO2 is still a scourge to hysterical alarmists out there, even if scientific evidence and empirical evidence continues to say otherwise.

Higher CO2 levels may be good for plants: German scientists:

The dangerous rise in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere may be troubling scientists and world leaders but it could prove to be a boon for plants, German researchers said Tuesday.

Increasing exposure to carbon dioxide appears to boost crop yields, Hans-Joachim Weigel of the Johann Heinrich von Thuenen Institute for rural areas, forestry and fisheries in the central city of Brunswick told AFP.

"Output increased by about 10 percent for barley, beets and wheat" when the plants were subjected to higher levels of carbon dioxide, Weigel said.

The Thuenen Institute, which has been monitoring the phenomenon in fields since 1999, trains CO2 jets on the plants so the gas reaches 550 parts per million in the air around them -- the level expected in the atmosphere by 2050.

Weigel said the studies have indicated that while greater CO2 exposure appears to spur growth, it can also undermine the quality of the produce.

He said the next step in the study would be to evaluate the effect of higher temperatures on plant growth -- which scientists cite as another consequence of higher CO2 emissions in the atmosphere.

Weigel said that while the institute's findings may prove surprising to some, they are not intended to undermine the drive to slash CO2 emissions.

Animal Death-Watch: Koalas

From now until this hoax is fully exposed, I will highlight media fear pieces that predict the demise or harm of species as a result of "manmade climate change." These pieces will be entitled "Animal Death-Watch." An oft-used media tactic is to pick cute, cuddly looking creatures and show how our modern way of life (i.e., capitalism) is killing them off.

In the past, we've seen stories of polar bears, seals, newts, frogs, and now koalas. And, please review the extensive list of articles that predicted all sorts of extinctions due to global warming. Let's see how many of these critters actually end up harmed, shall we? I predict NONE!

This one is funny, because it depicts the harm first to a plant (eucalyptus trees), the leaves of which form the dietary staple of these lovable little fuzz balls. Aren't plants nourished by CO2, heat, and sunlight? Whatever happened to basic biology and botany? No matter...just stick a few eucalyptus seeds in the Arctic lock box and call it a day.

Climate change threatens Australia's koala: report | Environment | Reuters:

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australia's unique tree-dwelling koalas may become a victim of climate change, new research reported on Saturday shows.

Australian scientists say that eucalyptus leaves, the staple diet of koalas and other animals, could become inedible because of climate change.

Seeds in a 'lock box'

Seeds
They're really taking Al Gore literally on that whole 'lock box' shtick.

Okay, so we're saving seeds in an arctic vault in the event climate change wipes out natural plants? How do they plan to grow them if the climate runs amok and kills all natural plants? Which is retarded, because we're freezing to death this winter (though I suppose it could be argued that an ice age could do the same).

Here's another thought. In the Earth's 4.5 billion year history, we've had several "doomsdays" that have obliterated species, but the natural order always reestablishes life. Why should we be so arrogant to think we'll survive doomsday only to bring back the same life that was just made extinct? We really are pathetic, haughty animals.

FOXNews.com - Norway Formally Opens Arctic Doomsday Seed Vault - Science News | Science & Technology |Technology News:

LONGYEARBYEN, Norway — A "doomsday" seed vault built to protect millions of food crops from climate change, wars and natural disasters opened Tuesday deep within an Arctic mountain in the remote Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard.
