Animal Death-Watch: Frog NOT extinct after all

You mean to say scientists and researchers were WRONG about something?! No, say it ain’t so! More about AGW-caused "extinctions" on the warmlist.

'Extinct' Frog Found Alive and Well in Australia:

SYDNEY, Australia — A tiny frog species thought by many experts to be extinct has been rediscovered alive and well in a remote area of Australia's tropical north, researchers said Thursday.

The 1.5 inch-long Armoured Mistfrog had not been seen since 1991, and many experts assumed it had been wiped out by a devastating fungus that struck northern Queensland state.

"A lot of us were starting to believe it had gone extinct, so to discover it now is amazing," Hoskin said. "It means some of the other species that are missing could potentially just be hidden away along some of the streams up there."

Animal Death-Watch: Koalas

From now until this hoax is fully exposed, I will highlight media fear pieces that predict the demise or harm of species as a result of "manmade climate change." These pieces will be entitled "Animal Death-Watch." An oft-used media tactic is to pick cute, cuddly looking creatures and show how our modern way of life (i.e., capitalism) is killing them off.

In the past, we've seen stories of polar bears, seals, newts, frogs, and now koalas. And, please review the extensive list of articles that predicted all sorts of extinctions due to global warming. Let's see how many of these critters actually end up harmed, shall we? I predict NONE!

This one is funny, because it depicts the harm first to a plant (eucalyptus trees), the leaves of which form the dietary staple of these lovable little fuzz balls. Aren't plants nourished by CO2, heat, and sunlight? Whatever happened to basic biology and botany? No matter...just stick a few eucalyptus seeds in the Arctic lock box and call it a day.

Climate change threatens Australia's koala: report | Environment | Reuters:

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australia's unique tree-dwelling koalas may become a victim of climate change, new research reported on Saturday shows.

Australian scientists say that eucalyptus leaves, the staple diet of koalas and other animals, could become inedible because of climate change.

Animal Death-Watch: Frog disappearance now disputed

I can barely believe I’m reading this. If the NYT is slowly turning on global warming theory, what next? Here we see that these poor, helpless frogs that we were killing off due to our evil human transgressions are actually not biting it thanks to our love of capitalism. Yes, a fungus is responsible. Not human-induced climate change as originally claimed with glee.

Link to Global Warming in Frogs’ Disappearance Is Challenged - New York Times:

In the scientific equivalent of the board game Clue, teams of biologists have been sifting spotty evidence and pointing to various culprits in the widespread vanishing of harlequin frogs.

The amphibians, of the genus Atelopus — actually toads despite their common name — once hopped in great numbers along stream banks on misty slopes from the Andes to Costa Rica. After 20 years of die-offs, they are listed as critically endangered by conservation groups and are mainly seen in zoos.

It looked as if one research team was a winner in 2006 when global warming was identified as the “trigger” in the extinctions by the authors of a much-cited paper in Nature. The researchers said they had found a clear link between unusually warm years and the vanishing of mountainside frog populations.
