Cambridge, MA: Going Green To Be Mandatory

See what's happening? Government control of your lives will take hold where you will allow it. When government arrogantly assumes it knows better than you what's good for you, you should be very afraid. We've seen similar moronic solutions to the "climate emergency" before. These leftists act as if no climate scandals have recently unfolded.

Going green will not be optional in Cambridge, Mass., if the Cambridge Climate Congress has its way. It will be mandatory.

There will be congestion pricing to reduce car travel. Curbside parking will be eliminated. There will be a carbon tax "of some kind," not to mention taxes on plastic and paper bags. And the Massachusetts city, home of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will advocate vegetarianism and veganism, complete with "Meatless or Vegan Mondays."

Those are just some of the proposals put forth by the Congress, which was created in May 2009 to respond to the "climate emergency" plaguing Cambridge. Once the Congress settles on its recommendations, they will submitted to the City Council.

Eat Less Meat and Dairy, Sustainably

The commissars of global warming are at it again. They want to regulate sex, food, alcohol, milk, and EVERYTHING, all in the name of being SUSTAINABLE...the new global warming fad buzz word.

You see if you fart less, you'll help save the planet from those atrocious greenhouse gases in your butt. If you have less sex then you won't be breathing out as much CO2. Make sense yet? You're right...it doesn't.

Besides, Al Gore's fat meat-eating butt isn't about to give up his steaks. Remember...these a-holes are HYPOCRITES. Do as they say, not as they do.

And the dissing of the Climategate reality goes on and on.

The first official recommendations for a diet that is both healthy and good for the environment are published today, and they are likely to be seen as an assault on the UK's current food system.

To fight climate change and tackle the growing crisis of diet-related diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer, British consumers must cut down on meat and dairy produce, reduce their intake of processed foods and curb waste.

GASP!: We must ration meat and milk!

The scare tactics and silly "solutions" never cease. More fear and hysteria available for you in the warmlist and our other GASP! posts.

Meat must be rationed to four portions a week, says report on climate change | Environment | The Guardian:

People will have to be rationed to four modest portions of meat and one litre of milk a week if the world is to avoid run-away climate change, a major new report warns.

The report, by the Food Climate Research Network, based at the University of Surrey, also says total food consumption should be reduced, especially "low nutritional value" treats such as alcohol, sweets and chocolates.

It urges people to return to habits their mothers or grandmothers would have been familiar with: buying locally in-season products, cooking in bulk and in pots with lids or pressure cookers, avoiding waste and walking to the shops - alongside more modern tips such as using the microwave and internet shopping.

The report goes much further than any previous advice after mounting concern about the impact of the livestock industry on greenhouse gases and rising food prices. It follows a four-year study of the impact of food on climate change and is thought to be the most thorough study of its kind.

Indian Vegetarian: Eat Less Meat to Fight AGW

I think the sentence I highlighted below says it all; AGW, as a political vehicle, is a liberal boondoggle and myth that is designed to normalize all sorts of left-of-center ideals--like vegetarianism, for example. This guy is probably a Hindu, and eating meat is strictly forbidden in that religion.

Remember how crazy the lefties got when Al Gore wouldn't stop eating his beef? Why should that bit of hypocrisy matter? Al Gore can't halt his ravenous consumption of energy either.

Man, that steak I just ate for dinner sure was good. Yum, yum!

UN says eat less meat to curb global warming | Environment | The Observer:

People should have one meat-free day a week if they want to make a personal and effective sacrifice that would help tackle climate change, the world's leading authority on global warming has told The Observer

Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which last year earned a joint share of the Nobel Peace Prize, said that people should then go on to reduce their meat consumption even further.

His comments are the most controversial advice yet provided by the panel on how individuals can help tackle global warning.

'Give up meat for one day [a week] initially, and decrease it from there,' said the Indian economist, who is a vegetarian.

PETA mad at Al for chewing on a cow

1187414026409
Remember? Cow farts are deadly!

Why question just Al Gore’s diet? Why not point out all the other hypocrisies associated with his climate crusade, such as his excessive home energy use and his use of private jets to travel the world in order to give his several-thousand-dollar PowerPoint presentation on how WE AMERICANS can cut back to save Earth? Eating a hunk of meat is the least of Al’s contradictions. Of course, there’s also the fact that he’s scientifically wrong about AGW, as are his ridiculous predictions of doom.

Al says the “law must change” when it comes to the climate, and this really gets at the heart of what he’s after. He’s a politician, and politicians need a dire situation—real or imagined—to accumulate power through lawmaking. New laws rarely, if ever, require fewer resources from you—the average American, which means you can plan on opening your wallet up.

Global warming for Al means relevancy and cash (ahem, his carbon credit business). What were some of Al’s previous campaigns requiring governmental action and the wastage of your tax dollars? Stamping out $80 hammers, ozone holes, and obscene pop music lyrics (remember Tipper Gore's PMRC?). Once AGW is a forgotten crusade, he’ll find another cause; crafty politicians always do. Don’t be dumb, America.

FOXNews.com - Pop Tarts: Exclusive: Not So Earth-Friendly? Activists Attack Al Gore - Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Arts And Entertainment:

LOS ANGELES — Look out, Al Gore ... People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says you are refusing to face one very "inconvenient truth."

On Monday, the animal rights organization launched the campaign offsetalgore.com (conveniently timed for Earth Day) in an attempt to counter the effects that they say the former vice president's meat-laden diet has on Mother Nature.

While reps for Gore had no comment, Pop Tarts confirmed with people who have worked with the ex-veep that he loves his steak and sausage, plus he was notorious for chowing down on the almost all-meat Atkins diet during his run for president.

And he warns that while individual efforts such as changing to low-energy lightbulbs are important, it is more significant for world leaders to change laws to stop pollution pouring into the atmosphere and affecting the climate.

Eat whale and save us all!

Whales
Remember, all things capitalistic are killing the earth, including our love of meat! You'll have to give that up too, or be cursed for all eternity, sinner!

Eat whale and save the planet | Reuters
:

OSLO (Reuters) - Eat a whale and save the planet, a Norwegian pro-whaling lobby said on Monday of a study showing that harpooning the giant mammals is less damaging to the climate than farming livestock.

Environmental group Greenpeace dismissed the survey, saying almost every kind of food was more climate friendly than meat.

The survey, focused on whale boats' fuel use, showed that a kilo (2.2 lbs) of whale meat represented just 1.9 kilo (4.2 lbs) of greenhouse gases against 15.8 for beef, 6.4 for pork and 4.6 for chicken.

"Basically it turns out that the best thing you can do for the planet is to eat whale meat compared to other types of meat," said Rune Froevik of the High North Alliance, which represents the interests of coastal communities in the Arctic.

"Greenhouse gas emissions caused by one meal of beef are the equivalent of eight meals of whale meat," the study said.
