Charles Manson: "We're Doing Bad Things to the Atmosphere"

All you need to know is that Charles Manson is Californian, a convicted murderer, and a global warming alarmist. Enough said. Don’t worry, Charlie. All alarmists ‘trail off’ in their ridiculous fear mongering.

'Everyone’s God and if we don’t wake up to that there’s going to be no weather because our polar caps are melting because we’re doing bad things to the atmosphere.

'If we don’t change that as rapidly as I’m speaking to you now, if we don’t put the green back on the planet and put the trees back that we’ve butchered, if we don’t go to war against the problem...' he added, trailing off.

CA Judge Halts Cap and Trade

Wow! Really?! Could someone involved in the government of California actually have a brain? I mean, I know some people who live in California who have brains...I even know some liberals out there with brains (who are just dimwits at politics and science). But one doesn't usually expect a government official--be they judge, congressman, or governor--to take too many conservative stances. It's "anything goes" out there on the left coast.

A San Francisco superior court judge has put California's sweeping plan to curb greenhouse gas pollution on hold, saying the state did not adequately evaluate alternatives to its cap-and-trade program.

In a 35-page decision, Judge Ernest H. Goldsmith said the Air Resources Board had failed to consider public comments on the proposed measures before adopting the plan, which affects a broad swath of the state's economy. In particular, the judge noted, officials gave short shrift to analyzing a carbon fee, or carbon tax, devoting a “scant two paragraphs to this important alternative” to a market-based trading system in their December 2008 plan.

Did CA Reverse Course on Crap-&-Tax?

No clue if California passed this or not, but I hope they reversed course. If they passed it then they give me hope that their state is not entirely stupid.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- If California were a country, it would be the world's 19th largest polluter. Recognizing that, a few years ago lawmakers here passed AB 32, a first in the nation 'cap and trade' type anti-global warming bill.

But come Tuesday, voters here have the opportunity to turn back the clock. Proposition 23 would stop the state's "Global Warming Solutions Act' from taking effect in January.

Proposition 23 would put a hold on the new emission standards until the state's unemployment rate drops to 5.5 percent or less for an entire year. The last time that occured was in the 1970s.

CA Overstated Pollution by 340% to Pass Diesel Laws

Sounds amazingly like all the global warming scandals that have surfaced over the past two years. Please note everyone: Scientists (even "consensus" ones) are not infallible human beings; they have political inclinations which CAN AND DO (sometimes) bias their research.

Please don't fall for the arrogant liberal maxim that says normal, "uneducated" folk are unintelligent morons who can't think their way out of a paper sack. Common sense is sometimes useful in sniffing out the rats in one's science.

California grossly miscalculated pollution levels in a scientific analysis used to toughen the state's clean-air standards, and scientists have spent the past several months revising data and planning a significant weakening of the landmark regulation, The Chronicle has found.

The pollution estimate in question was too high - by 340 percent, according to the California Air Resources Board, the state agency charged with researching and adopting air quality standards. The estimate was a key part in the creation of a regulation adopted by the Air Resources Board in 2007, a rule that forces businesses to cut diesel emissions by replacing or making costly upgrades to heavy-duty, diesel-fueled off-road vehicles used in construction and other industries.

GASP!: Gore's Divorce to Enhance Global Warming in CA

It's not enough that Al Gore is buying a new, huge, energy-sucking, multimillion dollar home on the CA coast (a coast he claims will be inundated by floods caused by global warming). No, Al must contradict himself and his minions, even further, by getting divorced from Tipper. And as you can see below in CNET news (from the Green Nazis), divorce increases global warming (that doesn't exist...because these people are stupid-assed morons).

At least it's obvious that Gore knows he's full of it. Fitting that Al Gore is moving to the Left Coast, because his native Tennessee has rejected his stupid, liberal, militant, hypocritical environmentalism. I'm sure he's tired of being mocked.

Make sure you check out the GASP! series and warmlist to see the level of ridiculousness to which we've risen.

As if the burden of divorce weren't bad enough, people with failed marriages can be blamed for global warming, according to a study by Michigan State University.

Divorced couples use up more space in their respective homes, which amounts to to 38 million more rooms worldwide to light, heat and cool, noted the report.

And people who divorced used 73 billion kilowatt-hours more of electricity and 627 billion gallons of water than they would otherwise in 2005.

Reporting from Washington — They were the happy exceptions — high school sweethearts whose passionate romance led to a famously stable marriage in a capital perpetually rocked by tawdry scandals and sleazy affairs.

But on Tuesday, less than a month after they marked their 40th wedding anniversary, former Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, announced they were breaking up.

[From Al and Tipper Gore announce separation - latimes.com]

How inconvenient is this news? Former vice president Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, bought a gated $8,875,000 ocean-view villa in Montecito, Calif., where Oprah Winfrey also owns a mansion, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Gore, author of the best seller An Inconvenient Truth about the dangers of global warming, received much criticism for the high electric use of his 10,000-square-foot historic home in Nashville. He says he's added 33 rooftop solar panels and seven geothermal wells and buys only renewable energy.

Breaking it to You, Gently

How do the Marxists get you to accept job losses and tough economic burdens due to their phony climate change laws and requirements? They break the news to you early, of course. Here we have lefty psychos out in CA letting everyone know ahead of time that there will be jobs lost due to energy cost increases, and these increases will be driven by “aggressive” climate change laws. And all one needs to do is actually look at all the climate scandals and, maybe...just maybe, consider the voice of a skeptical scientist to realize that we’re all being taken for suckers. If we let these assholes get away with it then WE ARE SUCKERS.

California is likely to see modest job losses in the near term from its aggressive climate change policy due to higher energy costs and other factors, the state's independent Legislative Analyst's Office said. Skip related content

The budget watchdog was responding to a request by Republican state Senator Dave Cogdill to study the effects of California's 2006 climate change law, which mandates changes to cut greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020.

California's environmental vanguard approach is being hotly debated in the state ahead of a November gubernatorial race and in the midst of an economic downturn that has pushed unemployment to recent records. Many other states and the federal government are watching closely.

Boxer: Hackers at fault for Climategate

See what psycho Democrats do when their little hoax is in mortal danger of being consumed by fire? They go after the "hackers" who made everyone aware of the lie. Only problem is that no one knows for sure that this was a hacker. There have been some reports that Climategate was set off by a whistleblower on the inside. God, I hope that's true. I love watching these environmentalist nutcases writhe around in agony because they look like idiots, and NOTHING is more delicious than watching Barbara Boxer writhe around.

Of course, she doesn't want to treat the perpetrators of this climate bullshit as criminals...people like Al Gore and these so-called scientists who were cooking the data to make a case for global warming.

MA'AM, MA'AM, MA'AM, MA'AM! There I said it! I refuse to call you Senator, MA'AM. MA'AM, MA'AM, MA'AM, MA'AM!

As Senator Inhofe said, "We won, you lost...GET A LIFE!" Is it me or does this woman look like Bea Arthur from Maud?

Leaked e-mails allegedly undermining climate change science should be treated as a criminal matter, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Wednesday afternoon.

Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently released e-mails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a crime.

"You call it 'Climategate'; I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" she said during a committee meeting. "Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not? I'm looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public."

California: Brilliant alarmists have AGW answers

California has been featured on this blog many times, because a large number of its politicians and 'thinkers' are all too ready to adopt any crazy 'environmental solution' that comes down the pike. There's nothing wrong with wanting to save energy due to shortages in your state; however, squeaking in that little phrase "reducing greenhouse gases" immediately marries this initiative to halting global warming, a simple myth primarily designed to drive government intervention in our lives and provide wealth and power to its political proponents.

One should also be aware that manufacturers won't pay for the costs of increasing television efficiencies, as this article cleverly avoids mentioning. The article, predictably, plays up the positive: Consumers will save money on their energy bills! But consumers will pay more for the televisions (manufacturers will pass on the costs), so it's still an indirect tax on capitalist consumers.

Increasing TV energy efficiency provides a triple benefit to California by boosting the economy, lowering electricity ratepayers' utility bills and helping the state meet its goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions 15% by 2020, Larson said. "Every dollar spent on energy efficiency returns $2 in savings," he added.

[From Flat-screen TVs to face energy-efficiency rules in California - Los Angeles Times]

Not satisfied with their already hefty tax revenues (CA is one of the most taxed states in the country), San Francisco plans to 'protect the environment' by charging drivers to drive in areas considered 'congested.' Again, this is just a tax. Governments don't really believe in global warming either, but it's a useful scapegoat to tax your ass once more.

The plan faces opponents in the city's business community. On Dec. 22, the president of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, Steve Falk, wrote in an op-ed article in The San Francisco Chronicle that such tolls amount to a "stealth tax." The headline on the article was "San Francisco Is Not London."

The economic downturn also has prompted caution. During his second inaugural address a year ago, the city's mayor, Gavin Newsom, called congestion pricing "the single greatest step we can take to protect our environment and improve our quality of life."

Snow in Malibu; CA freeways close

Cue the global warming fear and tap-dancing articles to stem the flow from these open, empirically-inflicted wounds in the hearts and minds of alarmist cult members everywhere!

FOXNews.com - Frigid Storm Closes California Freeways, Drops Snow in Malibu:

LOS ANGELES — Snow snarled major mountain highways and even dusted Malibu on Wednesday as a cold storm hit parts of California. One person was killed by a wind-related helicopter crash, and an overflowing river on the U.S.-Mexico border led to the evacuation of nearly two dozen people, rescues of about 50 horses and the deaths of four others.

Winter weather raining on alarm parade

But don't worry...the Lord Obama will save us from the "warming" by signing a stupid, worthless dork-ument for the U.N. Actually, I'm sure it's much colder now simply because He was elected--the weather obeys His every whim. LOL!

San Diego County saw light drizzle in many areas in a prelude to what is expected to be a wet and cold week, according to the National Weather Service.
Blizzard hits the northern Plains and upper Midwest - USATODAY.com:

A blizzard expected to drop nearly a foot of snow in some parts of North Dakota by the end of the weekend ushered in the coldest weather of the winter.

"We've got that arctic air that's just going to be stuck over us," said Ken Simosko, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Bismarck. "It's going to be dangerously cold."

The weather service posted a blizzard warning for western and central North Dakota for Saturday afternoon, and for the east Saturday night. Simosko said the storm was a combination of Pacific moisture and arctic air.
AFP: Disdain for Bush, hope for Obama on climate change:

POZNAN, Poland (AFP) — George W. Bush's last hurrah in the global climate arena has met with a welling of disdain contrasting with the outsized expectations for his successor, Barack Obama.

At the UN climate talks in Poznan, no farewell tears were shed for Bush, whose rejection of the landmark Kyoto Protocol in 2001 almost destroyed multilateral efforts to roll back global warming.

Lefties give up their bottled water?

Ah, beautiful California. Home of beautiful coastlines, wonderful summer days, and fantastic palm trees. And it has unfortunately been overrun by psychopathic zealots, like Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, and even pseudo-conservative Ah-nuld Schwarzenegger. In the nineties, CA-based liberals made bottled water all the rage; you wouldn’t see a latte-slurping lefty chick at a health club without a huge bottle of Evian in tow. Now, to quote Bobby Bouchet’s mom, “Plastic bottles is the devil!”

Ahem, ahem...testing, testing, one, two...attention world! Global warming is the biggest bunch of cow dung ever crapped out of leftwing environmentalist political factions. Look at the science and empirical evidence on global warming and wake up from this mesmerized stupor into which the media has placed you through your own accommodating, hypnotized compliance.

CA. AG Cracks Down On Nestle Bottling Plant:

SACRAMENTO (AP) ― Attorney General Jerry Brown on Tuesday said he will sue to block a proposed water-bottling operation in Northern California unless its effects on global warming are evaluated.

Nestle Waters North America wants to pump about 200 million gallons of water a year from three natural springs that supply McCloud, about 280 miles north of San Francisco. Brown's office said that's enough to fill 3.1 billion 8-ounce plastic water bottles.

The water would be bottled at a 350,000-square-foot facility on the outskirts of the former lumber town.

The Swiss-based company scaled back its plans in May after years of opposition from environmentalists and a group of McCloud residents. It originally sought to pump more than double the amount of water.

Pelosi: She’s saving the planet ya’ll

Pelosi-HippieFear not everyone! Nancy P is on the job; she’s going to “save the planet” for us, since we're too dumb to believe in global warming or do anything about it ourselves.

I’m dumbfounded by this elitist, left-coast, liberal arrogance. Neat to pick up on the fact that, when these liberals go off script (when “impatiently” dealing with those pesky questions that few in the media seem willing to ask them anymore), they really show their true colors.

Pelosi: 'I'm trying to save the planet' | Politco:

With fewer than 20 legislative days before the new fiscal year begins Oct. 1, the entire appropriations process has largely ground to a halt because of the ham-handed fighting that followed Republican attempts to lift the moratorium on offshore oil and gas exploration. And after promising fairness and open debate, Pelosi has resorted to hard-nosed parliamentary devices that effectively bar any chance for Republicans to offer policy alternatives.

“I’m trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet,” she says impatiently when questioned. “I will not have this debate trivialized by their excuse for their failed policy.”

“I respect the office that I hold,” she says. “And when you win the election, you win the majority, and what is the power of the speaker? To set the agenda, the power of recognition, and I am not giving the gavel away to anyone.”

Hypocrite Schwarzenegger blasts Bush on AGW?

Schwarzenegger BushThis is what I was referring to earlier--certain "conservatives" are now onboard with this big hoax, likely because they see its potential politically. Governor Conan Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose brain is obviously destroyed from all the steroids he did in the 1970s, is just another one of the cast of characters that includes George Bush, John McCain, and Newt Gingrich--all are suddenly tree-hugging greenies who proclaim that the precious gas needed for the tree locked in their embrace sucks. And we've seen how liberals don't want conservatives on their "green territory," so no matter what Republicans or conservatives do for the climate, it won't be enough for the alarmist psychos out there. Therefore, I think some conservatives sense a political opportunity in backing global warming publicly, so that they can hinder the wedge issue for liberals and Democrats like Obama in coming elections.

And to hear the stupidity coming from Schwarzen-egg-head should be surprising, but it isn't. He's another hypocrite, driving his huge Humvees, flying to work everyday, and consuming more energy in a day than most of use in a month, just like the liberal hypocrites who are doing the same thing. Politically, he's got a lot to lose too if he doesn't back the boondoggle, because California typically backs anything that limits capitalism.

Also quite funny to hear him slam Bush, because Bush is a believer in global warming--at least he says he is publicly. Maybe he's just saying that to stall, and if he is I applaud him for his brilliant chess move.

Political Radar: Schwarzenegger Blasts Bush on Global Warming:

ABC News' Mary Bruce Reports: Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, R-Calif., spoke out against President Bush this morning attacking his administration for its failure to counter global warming emissions.

"This administration did not believe in global warming," Schwarzenegger told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview that will air Sunday on ABC's "This Week."

"They just didn't believe in it or they didn't believe that they should do anything about it, since China is not doing anything about it and since India is not willing to do the same thing, so why should we do the same thing?" Schwarzenegger said.

Lol-10Yep, it's California, the land of practically all left-wing environmental ideas. 'Nuff said. Stick this one in the really dumb AGW solutions category.

New Cars in California Must Display Global Warming Score | GreenBiz.com:

OAKLAND, Calif. -- California is making it mandatory for cars to be labeled with global warming scores, figures that take into account emissions from vehicle use and fuel production.

The law requiring the labels goes into effect at the start of next year for all 2009 model cars, though its expected the labels will be popping up on cars in the coming months.

Governments work to save us sheep from doom

And yet, CO2 emissions continue to rise while the mean global temperature has fallen!

Britain's 2007 emissions fall, on track for Kyoto | Environment | Reuters
:

LONDON (Reuters) - British greenhouse gas emissions fell nearly two percent in 2007, keeping the country on track to meet its targets under the Kyoto Protocol, the government's environmental agency said on Thursday.
U.N. human rights body turns to climate change | Environment | Reuters:
GENEVA (Reuters) - Climate change could erode the human rights of people living in small island states, coastal areas and parts of the world subjected to drought and floods, the U.N. Human Rights Council said on Friday.
Climate negotiators start work on Kyoto II | Environment | Reuters:
BANGKOK (Reuters) - Scientists and officials from across the world meet in Thailand this week for the first formal talks in the long process of drawing up a replacement for the Kyoto climate change pact by the end of 2009.

Around 190 nations agreed in Bali last year to start the two-year negotiations to replace Kyoto, which only binds 37 rich nations to cut emissions of greenhouse gases by an average of five percent from 1990 levels by 2012.

Here's a reason why our "actions" to save us will fail; we will have to disavow capitalism to make all the psychos happy. It's the only way.

California cuts future quotas for clean-air cars | Environment | Reuters
:
Advocates of clean car technologies called the move a step backward for California's push to cut car pollution, and accused the board of kowtowing to automakers.
Government officials to discuss CO2 content of alt fuels | Environment | Reuters:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Officials from across the U.S. government will meet this week to interpret an obscure item tucked into 2007 energy legislation that bars big federal fuel buyers from using fuel derived from coal if it contains more carbon than products made from crude oil.
Wait, I thought dark colors absorbed light, which theoretically would warm up the earth more? Chlorophyll has a dark green color, so losing trees should theoretically cool the earth. Oh that's right...alarmists claim the sun has nothing to do with global warming. They're obviously taking the position that losing the trees raises CO2 levels...except that CO2 has NOTHING TO DO WITH WARMING! It comes AFTER WARMING...NOT BEFORE.
Asia must reverse deforestation: U.N. | Environment | Reuters:
NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Parts of Asia are losing more than 28,000 square kilometers (10,800 square miles) of forest every year, a trend that must to be reversed immediately to fight climate change, a United Nations report said on Thursday.
As I already mentioned, even if we BELIEVE (as in have ‘blind faith’ in the ‘consensus’ as we’ve been instructed to do by the media), there’s no workable solution to reverse the nonexistent warming that they’ve imagined. Kyoto won’t work—far too expensive for the estimated net CO2 reductions. Mercury-tainted light bulbs won’t work; they poison the planet worse than the perceived “pollution” of greenhouse gases (please note that we would all be frozen popsicles without greenhouse gases in our atmosphere to hold in the sun’s heat). Some climate alarmists even believe that we’ll all be dead in a few decades, regardless of what we do to fix the problem.

Regardless of whether biofuels increase or reduce greenhouse gases, here’s one certain thing that we can already see—they’re driving up the price of corn, which is a staple food for the poorest people in the world. We also use corn to feed livestock, which is another food staple—providing beef, cheese, and milk. Food is already under several price pressures; surely we shouldn’t help prices creep up further, due to our religious-like zealotry with this climate change baloney.

So you fruitcakes are just hurting the people that you always claim to champion. This time, you’re hurting them under the guise of saving the planet; the only problem is that the planet doesn’t need your help, you arrogant bunch of know-it-all kool-aid drinkers!

Top scientists warn against rush to biofuel | Environment | The Guardian:
Gordon Brown is preparing for a battle with the European Union over biofuels after one of the government's leading scientists warned they could exacerbate climate change rather than combat it.
In an outspoken attack on a policy which comes into force next week, Professor Bob Watson, the chief scientific adviser at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, said it would be wrong to introduce compulsory quotas for the use of biofuels in petrol and diesel before their effects had been properly assessed.

Consensus: "Teach AGW to our children, damn it!"

GalileoWith all the numerous problems permeating the theory of AGW (including the bitter ass cold we're experiencing worldwide this winter), I can't believe this is happening. It's California? Oh, I can believe it now...

San Jose Mercury News - Bill would require California's science curriculum to cover climate change:

Some say the science on global warming isn't clear, while others worry the bill would inject environmental propaganda into classrooms.
I hope they also cover other historical examples of the actions of "consensus" zealots, such as those in the consensus who nearly killed Galileo for daring to say that the Earth was NOT the center of the Universe. He had to actually denounce what he had written to keep from being labeled a heretic, and all of this sounds remarkably close to the persecution deniers like myself face today.
