Earth Hour…it was supposed to eliminate tons and tons of carbon in the atmosphere. It was a statement made by the environmentally-minded among us that they were going to make a stand!
In reality, contrary to the press reports otherwise, it was nothing and did nothing; it was a sham just like AGW itself. Symbolic garbage like this make these fruitcakes feel better about themselves, however.

Earth Hour, hysterically promoted by The Age, the Sydney Morning Herald, the ABC, SBS, Sky News and the federal and state governments, resulted in no significant fall in power usage.The organisers will say never mind [about the lack of participation], this was about raising awareness (although not of raising awareness of the facts).
