The global-warming caravan has moved on, bound for a destination in oblivion. The United Nations is hanging the usual lamb chop in the window this week in Mexico for the U.N.'s Framework Convention on Climate Change, but the Washington guests are staying home. Nobody wants to get the smell of the corpse on their clothes.

Everybody who imagined himself anybody raced to Copenhagen last year for the global-warming summit, renamed "climate change" when the globe began to cool, as it does from time to time.

Scientists: Some Sea Levels 'Could Fall'

Interesting read from someone who still espouses global warming as reality. Even they admit the doomsday predictions are WRONG.

The incorrect belief that ocean water is evenly distributed lives on in the debate over climate change, says Stammer. The rising sea level is widely viewed as the most threatening consequence of global warming. Images of Bangladeshis wading through floodwaters are a favorite horror scenario used by some environmentalists. "But people act as if the water from melting glaciers were distributed as uniformly in the oceans as the water in our bathtubs at home," says Stammer.

But the reality is counter-intuitive. According to the most recent estimates, the sea level is expected to rise by about 1 meter (3.28 feet) -- on average -- in the next 100 years. This is the number that will be mentioned again and again during negotiations at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Cancun, Mexico over the next two weeks. "But this average value doesn't really help coastal planners," says Stammer.

Global Warming (Climate Change) Now 'Global Weirding'

As I predicted long ago, the new tactic--now that climate predictions continue to FAIL--will be to call anything that happens 'global warming.' In other words, the warming climate is causing all unusual weather events. But I have news for you psychos out there; we have hundreds of years of written accounts of 'unusual' weather and climate events, dating back to the global floods of ancient times (not to mention the Medieval Warm Period...a time that alarmists don't want you to bring up).

This bullshit is such a complete and utter farce. It's a failed government power grab. Interesting that Europeans seem to be awakening from their stupor far faster than we are.

So then the mantra became “climate change.” The liberals formerly known as “warmists” began predicting that we would experience fundamental changes in our weather. Scientists at the University of East Anglia — the Harvard of climate change — said snow would be “a very rare and exciting event.” Children wouldn’t know what it was.

As for summers, in the wake of Katrina “change-ist” groups like realclimate.org predicted “global warming will make hurricanes even worse in the future.”

What happened? Nothing. Europe has had three winters in a row of snow and cold temperatures. In the Atlantic, “there has been a dramatic decrease in the number of hurricanes in the last five years,” according to meteorologist Art Horn. “The total energy in all hurricanes around the world has plunged since 1993. The opposite of what was predicted.”

So the new fall back is “global weirding.” The site thedailygreen.com has a “Weird Weather Watch” page. The uber-liberal Huffington Post ran a story in August headlined “Global Weirding”: Extreme Climate Events Dominate The Summer.”

With Bulb Ban, Prices Skyrocket on AGW Bulbs

Apart from the deadly mercury these new, stupid, unpleasant global warming bulbs possess, they're (predictably) raising prices after the older, cheaper, better bulbs were banned. Any surprise that this liberal stupidity generated more expense for the masses? This is what awaits us if the government moves in and forces us to abide by ridiculous laws and regulations to halt something that IS NOT HAPPENING!!!! This is just like Prohibition; it's doomed because the masses will reject it.

Retailers also claim bulbs that currently cost only 33p are expected to sell for more than £1 within three months. Some will cost £3 or more.

The move comes as Britain is gearing up to phase out the last incandescent light bulbs in an effort to meet climate change targets.

The EU has already banned shops from buying stocks of 100watt bulbs and stopped them stocking up on any type of frosted incandescent bulbs.

Enviro-nuts Try to Prop Up Global Warming with Sex

If this doesn't tell you how doomed this cult is then nothing will. When the nutjobs start trying to "shock" you into believing their bullshit using nudes and blood (and I argue that they've been trying to shock us for years into believing), that's when you know the death knell is sounding for manmade climate calamities as a mythological tool to advance socialism.

Environmentalists and scientists are concerned about the massive drop in public interest in the topic over the last year. Now they are looking for new strategies to turn the tide. They're searching for so-called "mind bombs" -- highly emotional images that reduce a complex problem down to one core message.

Some environmental organizations are placing their bets on the shock factor. One commercial in a campaign by the British-based environmental organization 10:10 showed a teacher blowing up two students who were skeptical about cutting their carbon emissions, with fountains of blood spraying the others in the class. Other 10:10 videos have the same fate befalling recalcitrant office workers and footballers. But the campaign proved a dud -- it sparked massive protests and was quickly withdrawn.

Average 2010 Temp 1 Deg Below "Normal"

Amazing. NOAA (and their buddies at NASA) always try to play the manmade climate change game, but read the last paragraph too. I've bolded the most interesting parts.

The main culprit behind the cold temperatures in December 2010 was the same one which caused the cold winter of 2009-2010; a strongly negative North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and Arctic Oscillation (AO). When these atmospheric oscillations are in the strong negative phase, they essentially “flip” the weather pattern across North America, with upper-level high pressure and relative warmth over Greenland and Northeastern Canada and upper-level low pressure and cold over the eastern Continental United States, including Florida (Figure 1). This pattern forces the jet stream to plunge south from northern Canada into the southeastern U.S., transporting Arctic air masses into Florida.

As mentioned above, South Florida experienced its hottest summer on record in 2010 (with the exception of Naples which recorded its second hottest recorded summer). Despite the record hot summer, average yearly temperatures at the main climate sites will end up around 1 degree below normal, which will be the coolest calendar year since the early and mid 1980s, and among the top 10 on record (except for Miami). At secondary sites Miami Beach and Moore Haven, it was the coolest year on record (please note caveat below table).

Ten Ships Trapped in Arctic Sea Ice

Oh yeah...that arctic sea ice certainly is disappearing at an alarming rate. Tell that to these poor souls.

Rescue efforts are under way to evacuate more than 600 crew on 10 ships trapped in ice in the Sea of Okhotsk.

The ice is up to 30cm (12 inches) thick in some places, according to the Russian news agency Itar-Tass.

Signals are reported to have been received from a fishing boat and a research vessel which are in the greatest distress, stuck in the ice about 12 miles (19km) from the coast.

The sea rescue centre says three tugboats have been dispatched.
