GASP!: Climate Change Alters Tea Taste?

Yes, you read that right. Someone has actually (scientifically, I'm sure) related "manmade global climate disruption" to the changed taste of tea. There are so many ways to pick this apart as a scientist that it's not funny. Someone throw the BS flag, please. Need more bullshit? Read the GASP! series and visit Dr. Brignell's warmlist page to grasp the depth of the stupidity associated with this pseudo-science religion that refuses die amid scandal upon scandal.

GAUHATI, India -- Tea growers in northeastern India say climate change has hurt the country's tea crop, leading not just to a drop in production but also subtly altering the flavor of their brew.

Record Winter Storm Slams Eastern U.S. (Caused by Humans, Of Course)

Empirical evidence mounts each winter, even in the face of dire "record warm" predictions. But don't worry folks; the global warming pipe dream is still alive. The New York Crimes says so. No matter what the's caused by warming. Scam protected.

WASHINGTON (AP) - A band of frigid weather snaking its way up the East Coast on Sunday threatened to bring blizzards and a foot of snow to New York City and New England, while several states made emergency declarations as the storm caused crashes on slick roads.

Airlines grounded hundreds of flights Sunday along the Northeast corridor in anticipation of the storm, affecting major airports including New York's JFK and Newark. Airlines said more cancellations were likely as the storm progressed. Travel misery began a day earlier in parts of the South, where a rare white Christmas came with reports of dozens of car crashes.

NYT: Record Cold Caused by Warming (They're Serious)

I've been saying this for years, but try not to swallow your tongue anyway. These guys in the media (and the leftist "thinking" establishment) can't accept that they've been completely bamboozled by a climate cartel intent on global governance and global economic control. That's all this bullshit is. Average Americans know it. But the so-called 'smartest among us' are apparently the greatest morons. Every recent winter has been record setting in terms of COLD and the summers HAVE NOT been record setting in terms of WARMTH, despite predictions to the contrary! So, the shift has been to blame the cooler climate on warming in both summer and winter. Can anyone else see the imbecility of this crap besides me?!!!!

All of this cold was met with perfect comic timing by the release of a World Meteorological Organization report showing that 2010 will probably be among the three warmest years on record, and 2001 through 2010 the warmest decade on record.

How can we reconcile this? The not-so-obvious short answer is that the overall warming of the atmosphere is actually creating cold-weather extremes. Last winter, too, was exceptionally snowy and cold across the Eastern United States and Eurasia, as were seven of the previous nine winters.

For a more detailed explanation, we must turn our attention to the snow in Siberia.

Annual cycles like El NiƱo/Southern Oscillation, solar variability and global ocean currents cannot account for recent winter cooling. And though it is well documented that the earth’s frozen areas are in retreat, evidence of thinning Arctic sea ice does not explain why the world’s major cities are having colder winters.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Global Shamming would like to wish everyone a Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year. Please enjoy all the warm weather outside, brought to you courtesy of that evil capitalist carbon atom.

A storm system off the Northeast Coast will unleash a paralyzing blizzard along a vast swath of the I-95 corridor today.

The storm is no joke and threatens to shut down major highways in the region and could close some major airports, creating a nightmare for those souls heading home after the Christmas holiday.

[From - Weather News | Dangerous Blizzard to Slam Philadelphia to Boston]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A winter storm that brought a rare white Christmas to parts of the South was barreling up the East Coast early Sunday, with forecasters predicting 6 to 10 inches of snow for Washington and blizzard conditions for New York City and New England.

Airlines canceled hundreds of Sunday flights in the Northeast corridor, with more likely to come as the storm intensifies.

Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina declared states of emergency early Sunday or Saturday night. As North Carolina road crews tried to clear snowy and icy highways, Mid-Atlantic officials spent Christmas Day preparing for up to a foot of snow, plunging temperatures and high winds.

MOSCOW, Dec 26 (Reuters) - Moscow's Domodedovo airport was closed and thousands of Muscovites were left without power on Sunday after a heavy overnight snowfall, the RIA Novosti news agency said.

It quoted an airport spokeswoman as saying flights at the airport, Russia's busiest, were halted after two electricity substations were knocked out.

"The airport service is suspended," the spokeswoman, Elena Galanova, was quoted as saying, adding that it was not clear when operations would resume.

The Moscow United Electric Grid Company said about 100,000 people in the region were affected by power outages, according to RIA.

The temperature in Moscow hovered around zero degrees Celsius on Saturday and early Sunday. Some rail services were also disrupted.

PARIS (Reuters) – Hundreds of travellers trapped by icy weather spent Christmas Day queuing for flights in Europe on Saturday after sleeping on camp beds overnight in Paris and Brussels airports.

Travel disruptions this month have upset year-end travel for hundreds of thousands of people and raised questions about the air industry's lack of preparation for icy weather.
Flight schedules were returning to normal in Paris, thanks to fresh deliveries of de-icing fluid from Germany and the United States.

Thulsa Doom Obama and EPA Say 'Screw You, America'

What does a dictator do when he's 'stymied by Congress' (which was elected by the American people to stop his ass)? Act unilaterally, of course. And remember (after decades), the EPA FINALLY admitted that there's no danger from saccharin. How long before these liberal morons will let go of the great 'global warming scare' and move on to the next scam?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Stymied in Congress, the Obama administration is moving unilaterally to clamp down on greenhouse emissions, announcing plans for new power plants and oil refinery emission standards over the next year.

In an announcement posted on the agency's website late Thursday, Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson said the aim was to better cope with pollution contributing to climate change.

"We are following through on our commitment to proceed in a measured and careful way to reduce GHG pollution that threatens the health and welfare of Americans," Jackson said in a statement. She said emissions from power plants and oil refineries constitute about 40 percent of the greenhouse gas pollution in this country.

EPA: CO2 Supplants Saccharin as Environmental Threat

Seems like the politics, fear campaigns, and brouhahas of the present day will always give way to the next generation of scams designed to implant further government regulation, oversight, and control. CO2--that gas that you exhale every moment--has been deemed a 'threat' for climatic warming by our lovely liberal government (though the weather outside is currently frightful). You can see where the scares of old end the scrap heap of history. No more 60 Minutes news stories with the nervous, chain-smoking CEO on saccharin's dangers now.

Now the obvious conclusion that no one seems to be making in our "skeptical media." If the EPA thinks saccharin is not 'a threat after all then maybe CO2 isn't either. I guess we'll have to wait a few decades for the newest, lamest scare to come along.

CHICAGO – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has dropped the artificial sweetener saccharin from its list of hazardous substances, the agency said on Tuesday.

The white crystalline powder used in diet drinks, chewing gum and juice was dubbed a potential cancer-causing agent in 1980. While a review by the National Toxicology Program and the International Agency for Research on Cancer cleared saccharin in the late 1990s, it has remained on the EPA's potential hazard list.

[From EPA Says Saccharin Not a Threat After All -]

The Obama administration has said it will regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants amid opposition from industry and Republicans in Congress.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said it would regulate emissions from fossil fuel power plants by 2011 and petroleum refineries by 2012.

President Barack Obama is pushing the EPA to cut emissions after a climate bill failed in Congress this year.

But Republican lawmakers have said the EPA's new rules will harm the economy.

Empirical Winter Worsens for Warming Believers

A look at recent cold weather news from around the globe here in one of these "warmest years on record." Empirical evidence has looked like this for the past several years during winter. Weird how alarmists either look only at warming-related empirical data, or they now proclaim that these winter weather events are caused by warming too.

“We could really see some big avalanches that we haven’t seen in 50, maybe even 100 years if this kind of snow comes in like they say,” Toepher said.
For too many people safety isn’t a concern. When it snows, people will come despite the warnings.

[From Avalanche Danger Could Be Worst In Colo. History « CBS Denver – News, Sports, Weather, Traffic and the Best of Denver]

But in this city, hard by the Snow Belt beneath Lake Ontario, there is no need for any caveat. By this time, every year, it has snowed so heavily and so often that any more would be incomprehensible.

Syracuse has met the incomprehensible. As of Tuesday, even before winter had officially begun — at 6:38 p.m. Eastern time — 71.9 inches of snow had fallen this month, making it the city’s snowiest December on record.

[From In Syracuse, a Record December Snowfall -]

The snow will likely continue across metro Atlanta through Saturday night before ending Sunday morning.

"Across the north Georgia mountains, the precipitation should fall as snow the entire time, allowing 2 to 4 inch accumulations there," Nitz said.

In a statement issued early Thursday, the National Weather Service predicted that 1 to 3 inches of snow could fall across metro Atlanta, with accumulations of an inch or less south of the city.

Winter is already in full swing in the Colorado high country as a WINTER STORM WARNING remains in effect through Tuesday night for nearly all mountain areas in Colorado, which could see 12 to 36 inches of snow.

The mountains surrounding Vail, Aspen, Snowmass, Crested Butte, Telluride and Silverton should see 1 to 3 feet of snow by Tuesday evening with the heaviest snow on west-facing slopes.

Swathes of Britain skidded to a halt today as the big freeze returned - grounding flights, closing rail links and leaving traffic at a standstill.

And tonight the nation was braced for another 10in of snow and yet more sub-zero temperatures - with no let-up in the bitterly cold weather for at least a month, forecasters have warned.

The Arctic conditions are set to last through the Christmas and New Year bank holidays and beyond and as temperatures plummeted to -10c (14f) the Met Office said this December was ‘almost certain’ to become the coldest since records began in 1910.

At least 60 people have died across Europe during the current cold snap, as snow plagued transport in Britain on Friday and serious flooding prompted mass evacuations in the Balkans.

Seventeen people died in Central Europe in the last 24 hours from the cold, bringing the total this week to 45. A further 11 died in Russia, plus three in France and one in Germany, according to local authorities.

Heavy snow and subzero temperatures swept across Europe, killing at least eight homeless people in Poland, closing major airports in Britain and Switzerland and causing hundreds of highway accidents.

Workmen clear snow from Edinburgh Airport car park on December 1, 2010 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Freezing weather conditions and heavy snow have forced Scotland's main airport to close for the day.

Gatwick, London's second largest airport, and Geneva, a major hub for low-cost carrier Easyjet, were forced to shut down Wednesday as staff struggled to clear runways of snow, along with Edinburgh airport in Scotland and Lyon-Bron in southeastern France.

Journalists Were Once Ultimate Skeptics

Not any more. "Journalists" are advocates for liberal causes; they don't question shit. Look at all the ignored climate scandals. Look at all the empirical evidence (i.e., cold) that prompted the language shift from "global warming" to "climate change" and then, finally, "global climate disruption" (Obama's minions). The fact that so many "smart" people can't see through this crap is truly fascinating.

Well, you must be wrong because Fox News Washington Bureau Chief Bill Sammon is getting a raft of garbage from liberal activists masquerading as journalists at Media Matters, some liberal bloggers and a scattering of real journalists who ought to know better.

Why? Politico’s headline captures the controversy perfectly: “Fox editor urged climate skepticism.”

A journalist being skeptical? Who would ever have thought such a thing could be. I don’t know, maybe anybody who has heard this (attributed long ago to a crusty desk editor at the illustrious City News Bureau in Chicago): “If your mother tells you she loves you, check it out.”

In other words, we journalists are paid to BE SKEPTICAL.

More Death of Climate Fad: Pelosi's Panel Sacked

So much for ol' Bug Eye's climate panel. It was dumb while it lasted. LOL! More evidence that this fad and myth will only be a footnote in history.

Republicans will eliminate the House committee created by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to highlight the threat of climate change, Representative James Sensenbrenner, the top Republican on the panel, said today.

In one of her first acts as speaker in 2007, Pelosi, a California Democrat, created the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming to draw attention to climate-change science and showcase how a cap on carbon dioxide needn’t be a threat to economic growth.

Republicans, who won control of the House in the Nov. 2 election, have opposed legislative efforts to regulate carbon emissions as a tax on energy. When the panel convened today, Sensenbrenner, a Wisconsin Republican, said that the hearing “will be the last of the select committee.”

Death of Climate Fad: Thulsa Doom Frees Big Energy from Oversight

How do you know that global warming is a DEAD POLITICAL MOVEMENT? Because liberals got what they wanted and it didn't work out in their favor. The economy shrunk just as they wanted to 'fight global warming,' but the economy's showing over the past few years will kill their chances at regaining or maintaining power (as the elections of 2010 showed). Therefore, global warming is now deader than dead; liberals have seen where it ranks with Americans, and it's no replacement for a good economy. It's a footnote in history, and I'm glad my children have witnessed this utterly ridiculous bullshit, so that they can teach their kids to watch out for government shenanigans (i.e., power and tax grabs for noble causes).

In the name of job creation and clean energy, the Obama administration has doled out billions of dollars in stimulus money to some of the nation’s biggest polluters and granted them sweeping exemptions from the most basic form of environmental oversight, a Center for Public Integrity investigation has found.

The administration has awarded more than 179,000 “categorical exclusions” to stimulus projects funded by federal agencies, freeing those projects from review under the National Environmental Policy Act, or NEPA. Coal-burning utilities like Westar Energy and Duke Energy, chemical manufacturer DuPont, and ethanol maker Didion Milling are among the firms with histories of serious environmental violations that have won blanket NEPA exemptions.

Cancun: Scientists Want to Ration Developed World

Remember when I wrote about prominent liberals in this country (and elsewhere) who said that we must 'shrink the economy' to stop global warming? Well, they've gotten their wish, and thus (following the 2010 election results), you can bet your ass that global warming as an issue is now dead. Americans aren't buying it and prefer wealth to poverty.

I've said this for years: Global warming is nothing but a means to--finally--circumvent capitalism and advance socialism. The intellectual elite figured they had finally found a way to sneak it past all of us simpletons. After all, what's more noble than trying to save the planet? If you raise taxes, you're doing it to save the planet. If you harm wealthy, developed countries to redistribute wealth to the underdeveloped Third World, you're doing it to save the planet. If you kill off oil as the primary source of energy (and kill oil companies and capitalism in the process), it's all done to preserve Mother Earth.

Why would scientists really want to do anything except advance science? Because most of them are left-leaning intellectual elites; they know better than you about things and want to save you from yourselves. But don't worry...they're not narcissists or anything.

In one paper Professor Kevin Anderson, Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, said the only way to reduce global emissions enough, while allowing the poor nations to continue to grow, is to halt economic growth in the rich world over the next twenty years.

This would mean a drastic change in lifestyles for many people in countries like Britain as everyone will have to buy less ‘carbon intensive’ goods and services such as long haul flights and fuel hungry cars.

Prof Anderson admitted it “would not be easy” to persuade people to reduce their consumption of goods
He said politicians should consider a rationing system similar to the one introduced during the last “time of crisis” in the 1930s and 40s.

Cancun Climate Moonbats Pray to "Moon God"

Need you any additional evidence that we're dealing with a bunch of tree-hugging hippy psycho-libs? This climate scam is dead...deader than dead. It has been dead for years, but it really had a cardiac arrest with the exposure of the recently revealed scandals involving prominent players of the so-called climate 'consensus.' Die a good death, global warming garbage. Even if the news media refuses to acknowledge reality.

With United Nations climate negotiators facing an uphill battle to advance their goal of reducing emissions linked to global warming, it's no surprise that the woman steering the talks appealed to a Mayan goddess Monday.

Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, invoked the ancient jaguar goddess Ixchel in her opening statement to delegates gathered in Cancun, Mexico, noting that Ixchel was not only goddess of the moon, but also "the goddess of reason, creativity and weaving. May she inspire you -- because today, you are gathered in Cancun to weave together the elements of a solid response to climate change, using both reason and creativity as your tools."
