Nobel Mistake: Hero Irena Sendler dissed for Al Gore

A good friend sent me this and it's well worth the read. It's also verified as TRUE via Read this and tell me who deserved the Nobel Peace Prize: Al Gore or Irena Sendler? Ironic that Al chose to use the Holocaust denier moniker to label global warming skeptics.

A Lady Named Irena

There recently was a death of a 98 year old lady named Irena.

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.

She had an ulterior motive...

She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German).

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger kids).

She also had a dog in the back, that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in, and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, and arms, and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out, and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the family.

Most of course had been gassed.

Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes, or adopted.

Last year Irena was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize....

Al Gore won, for doing a slide show on Global Warming.

Farmer's Almanac: 'Catastrophic' Winter Predicted

Another nail in the AGW coffin? I think so. 80-85% accuracy is already better than all the global warming predictions combined. And it sure is cool so far...THIS SUMMER!

Farmer's Almanac Predicts Colder, 'Catastrophic' Winter

LEWISTON, Maine — People worried about the high cost of keeping warm this winter will draw little comfort from the Farmers' Almanac, which predicts below-average temperatures for most of the U.S.

"Numb's the word," says the 192-year-old publication, which claims an accuracy rate of 80 to 85 percent for its forecasts that are prepared two years in advance.

The almanac's 2009 edition, which goes on sale Tuesday, says at least two-thirds of the country can expect colder-than-average temperatures this winter, with only the Far West and Southeast in line for near-normal readings.

"This is going to be catastrophic for millions of people," said almanac editor Peter Geiger.

Record MN frost in August

LOL! Where is the global warming? Late August and we see frost? Why can’t AGW warm us up, since CO2 keeps going up? Hello? Bueller? <cricket, cricket>

Up North may see patchy frost tonight | JSOnline:

Here's some news you probably hoped you wouldn't hear for another four months.

The National Weather Service says areas of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin could see patchy frost this weekend. That's right, patchy frost in August.

The weather agency says clear skies could allow temperatures to dip into the low to mid-30s late tonight into early Monday.

Meteorologist Roman Berdes says an unusual cold-air mass from Canada will bring lower temperatures, but warmer air from the central Midwest should replace it by Monday.

Berdes says these temperatures are uncommon but not unheard of. He says those areas saw temperatures in the 20s at this point in 2004.

In the Milwaukee area, today's forecast calls for a high of 75 today and a low tonight of 54.

Mexican scientist: Get ready for next "little ice age"

Think there's "consensus"? Me thinks not. We keep hearing this one bantered about every few months. Now, wait! You mean the Sun could help vary our climate??!! No way! It's La Nina, damn you!

Translated version of

An expert from the National Autonomous University of Mexico predicted that in about ten years the Earth will enter a "little ice age" which will last from 60 to 80 years and may be caused by the decrease in solar activity.

Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the UNAM, as argued earlier during a conference that teaches at the Centre for Applied Sciences and Technological Development.

Japan labels products' "carbon footprint"

Not far away in NZ, record snows are on the ground. While in Japan, record goons are still running around.

Japan to label goods' carbon footprints: official:

Japan is planning to label consumer goods to show their carbon footprints in a bid to raise public awareness about global warming, an official said Tuesday.

Under the plan, a select range of products from beverages to detergent will carry markings on the carbon footprint -- or how much gas responsible for global warming has been emitted through production and delivery.

New Zealand: Biggest snow base ever recorded

More proof of global warming...or La Nina revisionism. Take your pick.

Turoa claims largest snow base ever - 19 Aug 2008 - NZ Herald: New Zealand National news:

Mt Ruapehu is claiming the biggest snow base ever recorded for a New Zealand skifield with over 4.5m of snow on the ground.

Ruapehu Alpine Lifts, operator of Mt Ruapehu ski area, was celebrating what it called a major milestone today.

The snow measuring stake at Turoa previously only stood at 380cm so had to be extended to measure today's 455cm snow base.

The Whakapapa side of the mountain also had 350cm of snow, the biggest since 1995.

TS Fay caused by AGW!

Okay, let me beat them to the punch! Remember, you heard it here first...Tropical Storm (likely soon-to-be hurricane) Fay is being driven by evil poot gases that result from humankind's love for Western capitalism. Our own greedy transgressions are punishing us! Now the lefties can relax; I put out the press release first.

If it's cold out in the summer, that means nothing; if there's a hurricane or a tornado outbreak, that means there's warming! Get the picture?!!

Denver breaks cold record set in 1890!

Empirical evidence mounts; the story has been the same this summer season for AK, HI, IL, and NC. New Jersey has even smartened up a bit. The world is putting the global warming cult on-notice; the extended period of over-hyped, hysterical news coverage is doing you alarmists no good.

So both last winter and this summer have been VERY cool! Either their initial predictions and "observations" failed, or they've conducted a little revisionism to save face (warming is being masked by cooling...LOL).

Warnings for Denver | Weather Underground:

Statement as of 8:00 PM MDT on August 16, 2008

... Record low maximum temperature set in Denver for August 16th...

The high temperature at Denver International Airport today was 58 degrees.

This 58 degree reading will replace the previous low maximum temperature record for August 16th which was 63 degrees set 118 years ago in 1890.

Chicago: Fewest 90-degree days since 1930

Poot! The continuing slide and downfall of the stupid, bungling global warming theory. Again, this is empirical data, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander. The alarmists site empirical evidence all the time when it suits their purpose.

Oh wait...we’ve been told that colder temperatures are a sign of “warming”...oops, forgot. Or the other revisionary trick is to say that this “cooling trend” is temporary and that in 10-20 years, global warming will no longer be “masked” by the cooling of La Nina.

Temperature data produces an oscillating waveform that will vacillate between colder and warmer periods. So the alarmists have actually (and finally) made a prediction that will hold true; it will eventually get warmer, and then later cooler, and then later warmer, etc. It’s sort of like predicting that the sun will rise tomorrow, however.

Decade has had fewest 90-degree days since 1930

August is the wettest and often the muggiest month of the year. Yet, summer heat continues in short supply, continuing a trend that has dominated much of the 21st Century's opening decade. There have been only 162 days 90 degrees or warmer at Midway Airport over the period from 2000 to 2008. That's by far the fewest 90-degree temperatures in the opening nine years of any decade on record here since 1930.

This summer's highest reading to date has been just 91 degrees. That's unusual. Since 1928, only one year—2000—has failed to record a higher warm-season temperature by Aug. 13.

GASP!: Global warming eating our bridges and tunnels!

Yes, the daily dose of fear from the media is as predictable as your morning coffee. Learn about what global warming is doing to us and the world by viewing the warmlist and the GASP! series. Learn to be afraid! They need you afraid--fear will force stupid political action for a non-existent problem. Fear will give the profiteers what they most want—more money!

Climate Change Could Wreck New York's Bridges, Tunnels

NEW YORK — Flooded subways. Bridges deteriorating in the hot sun. Rising seas nipping at the edges of Manhattan.

Those scenarios are up for review by a panel of scientists, government officials and private sector representatives studying how the city's infrastructure will hold up to climate change.

The Climate Change Adaptation Task Force met Tuesday for the first time as part of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's plan to address global warming in New York City, which already includes orders to switch the city's taxi fleet to hybrids by 2012 and to retrofit city buildings to meet greener standards.

Dumb "Scientific" Endeavors

Please read “The Cooling World” article from Newsweek, 1973. Back then, climate scientists were warning that a climate catastrophe would soon envelope the world; of course, “global cooling” was the cause back then—we were going to freeze to death.

Read it very carefully and notice some of the solutions these idiots dreamed up. They were going to cover the poles in black soot to absorb sunlight, heat up the Earth, and melt the ice, LOL! We’ve heard similar stupid ideas on hurricanes, where scientists have proposed all sorts of hilarious solutions to stop them from forming, prevent strengthening, or “turn them off.”

German researchers? They were in the news recently before this article, and what I read then was equally amusing. Did you know that CO2 may be beneficial to plants?!

We’re pathetic if we think we cause any NATURAL climate variability, and we’re really quite dense if we think we can do ANYTHING to reverse the power of this natural Earth. We’re nothing to this place we call home, though we arrogantly believe we are somehow “in-charge.”

Germans try to slow glacier melt with giant screen

German researchers trying to slow melting glaciers have set up a large screen in the Swiss Alps that they hope will trap cold air over the icy mass, Johannes Gutenberg University said Thursday.

"We hope our installations will bring about a net cooling of the area. And if the melt is not stopped, that it is at least slowed," the project's leader, geography professor Hans-Joachim Fuchs, said in a statement.

The structure, 15 metres long and three metres high (49 feet by 10 feet), was raised in the middle of the Rhone glacier in Switzerland's southwestern Valais region by 27 students from the German university.

NJ: Repeal AGW Response Act?

This is just so tremendously enjoyable to read. Looks like the environmentally-psychotic left will eventually be forced to deal with their own hot air, greed, and stupidity in the form of “manmade climate change.” It’s happening all over the world. Thousands of scientists aren’t buying it. Most normal, everyday folks here and abroad aren’t buying it. Penn and Teller aren’t buying it. George Carlin didn’t buy it. John Coleman (Weather Channel founder) isn’t buying it.

Only those with ulterior motives are buying in and pushing for more public indoctrination. Or the really dumb are buying Prince Charles and other dimwits.

Responding to various new scientific reports questioning the concept of global warming, Assemblyman Michael Doherty today called on Governor Corzine to hold off on proposing any new regulations associated with the state’s Global Warming Response Act and urged the Legislature to repeal that act when it returns to legislative business after Labor Day.

“There are many credible members of the scientific community who have questioned the theory of global warming, and now we have some scientists actually suggesting the earth’s temperatures may be entering a period of dramatic cooling,” said Doherty, R-Warren and Hunterdon. “With this growing level of scientific uncertainty, it makes no sense to enact a new set of economically damaging regulations prompted by the global warming hysteria of recent years.”

The Global Warming Response Act was signed last year by Corzine, which requires the state to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 20 percent by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050. The law required the state Department of Environmental Protection to release a report detailing how the state would meet the goals, with recommendations now expected to be issued this fall.

Prince Charles: Genetic prophet

The Prince of Wails (spelling intended) is back in the news showing his vast dimwittedness. Seriously. How many of you think he knows ANYTHING about genes, DNA, genetics, and genomics? This guy is no more an authority on genetically-engineered food than Al Gore is on the climate. But that doesn't stop Prince Charles from making stupid predictions about genetic engineering or other complicated subjects for which he is no authority at all--like climate change.

Prince Charles stated a few months ago that we only have 18 months to go before global warming kills us all. At least we won’t have long to wait to laugh at his prediction, because he wasn’t smart enough to set it at a date that will be long after we’re all dead. At least the other climate alarmists set their doom predictions to a time beyond their own lifespan. Conveniently, no one will be left to call them out on their stupidity, so I hope this blog will hang around out there long enough in some form to do just that.

Prince Charles warns GM crops risk causing the biggest-ever environmental disaster

The mass development of genetically modified crops risks causing the world's worst environmental disaster, The Prince of Wales has warned.

In his most outspoken intervention on the issue of GM food, the Prince said that multi-national companies were conducting an experiment with nature which had gone "seriously wrong".

The Prince, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Telegraph, also expressed the fear that food would run out because of the damage being wreaked on the earth's soil by scientists' research.

He accused firms of conducting a "gigantic experiment I think with nature and the whole of humanity which has gone seriously wrong".

"Why else are we facing all these challenges, climate change and everything?"

Poll: Only 25% of Americans think AGW is biggest environmental challenge

Har, har, hardy, har, har! Let the alarmist whining and crying begin. Notice how the article below complains that the reason for the fall-off in global warming beliefs among Americans is because the news media is currently not indoctrinating and propagandizing Americans enough. Right! LOL! The election and economy have "distracted" everyone from believing in "what's really important."

If they would just fill your head with more BS then you’d believe in this false climate garbage more! They still try to put that ol’ environmentalist spin on it all, however, by telling us straight away that Americans are still “reducing their carbon footprints” anyway, LOL! Everyone except for Al Gore that is.

Other recent polls show the rest of the world is falling into disbelief too, with 70% of Britons saying global warming is nonexistent. I guess there's still hope for common sense.

Waning Warming Debate

Americans Aim To Reduce Carbon Footprints, Despite Drop In Concern For Climate Change

For all the recent coverage of the pollution surrounding Beijing's Olympic Games, global warming has gotten relatively little attention, whether on the nightly news or on the campaign trail. While the majority of Americans still say they consider climate change a serious issue, a new poll suggests public concern over the issue has ebbed since last year.

According to a survey [PDF] from ABC News, Planet Green and Stanford University, fewer than half -- 47 percent -- of Americans consider global warming an important issue to them personally, down from 52 percent in April 2007. Although a vast majority still think the planet is warming -- 8 in 10 respondents -- that figure is also down from last year, having dropped 4 percentage points.
Furthermore, in an open-ended question, the number of respondents who called global warming the biggest environmental challenge facing the world fell 8 points from 2007 and currently hovers at 25 percent.

According to an analysis by ABC News' Gary Langer,
the drop in these numbers coincides with decreased media attention to climate change, in favor of the election and economy. "A database search finds 50 percent fewer news stories on global warming in the month before this poll was conducted, compared with the month before last year's survey," Langer wrote.

That dimmer media spotlight could explain respondents' lack of knowledge about how John McCain and Barack Obama measure up on global warming. About 8 in 10 respondents said they knew little or nothing about the candidates' positions on the issue. Nevertheless, the Democratic contender has a clear advantage: Fifty-five percent of respondents said Obama would do a better job of reducing global warming, while only 23 percent said so of the GOP nominee.

Respondents split evenly when pollsters asked whether government-led or market-based solutions would do a better job of reducing global warming, but they did favor government measures such as a cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions.

Americans appear to be holding themselves responsible as well for the energy crisis. About 7 in 10 respondents said they're attempting to reduce their carbon footprint, by driving less, using less electricity and recycling.

But despite the overwhelming consensus that global warming is indeed occurring, doubt over the science behind the issue is still lingers strongly in people's minds. Only 30 percent of ABC News respondents said they trust what scientists have to say about the environment "completely" or "a lot," with 39 percent saying they trust them "a moderate amount" and 30 percent saying they do not trust them. On top of that, nearly 60 percent of respondents said there is "a lot of disagreement" within the scientific community as to how dangerous climate change is.

GASP!: All we can prepare for is EXTINCTION!

Hyperbole? Hysteria? Not if you're a invective-carrying environmental alarmist. Need more hysteria to help you through your week? Go to the warmlist and dose up on an unending list of dire news stories (all the bad stuff global warming causes), and then make certain you read through our GASP! series here. Then maybe you'll get some clarity and put all this nonsense into perspective.

I'm making a prediction (and we've seen how accurate the predictions of these alarmists are). Since the global mean temperatures fell nearly a single degree in one year (2007-08) and scientists now predict AGW is being "masked by cooling," global mean temperatures will come NOWHERE NEAR a 4 degree rise--except for maybe when the sun turns into a red giant a few billions years from now.

And remember...this is a British paper, and 70% of Britons believe global warming is malarky (so no wonder the propaganda machine is really pumping out the theatrics over there).

Oliver Tickell: On a planet 4C hotter, all we can prepare for is extinction | Comment is free | The Guardian:

We need to get prepared for four degrees of global warming, Bob Watson told the Guardian last week. At first sight this looks like wise counsel from the climate science adviser to Defra. But the idea that we could adapt to a 4C rise is absurd and dangerous. Global warming on this scale would be a catastrophe that would mean, in the immortal words that Chief Seattle probably never spoke, "the end of living and the beginning of survival" for humankind. Or perhaps the beginning of our extinction.

The collapse of the polar ice caps would become inevitable, bringing long-term sea level rises of 70-80 metres. All the world's coastal plains would be lost, complete with ports, cities, transport and industrial infrastructure, and much of the world's most productive farmland. The world's geography would be transformed much as it was at the end of the last ice age, when sea levels rose by about 120 metres to create the Channel, the North Sea and Cardigan Bay out of dry land. Weather would become extreme and unpredictable, with more frequent and severe droughts, floods and hurricanes. The Earth's carrying capacity would be hugely reduced. Billions would undoubtedly die.

EPA Continues Gore's Plan: Drive Climate Famine

Does the EPA consist of a mere bunch of alarmist enviro-nazis? The answer is a big YES. Review sham-articles here and here.

Here we see that these alarmists at the EPA will stop at nothing to prop up the mass of stupidity that is the farcical “human-induced climate change” scam. Just like Al Gore, they’re willing to make the poor of the world go hungry to protect their little lie.

EPA Denies Texas' Request for Ethanol Waiver:

LUBBUCK, Texas — The Environmental Protection Agency has denied a request from Texas to temporarily reduce ethanol requirements for gasoline in hopes of bringing down corn prices.

Gov. Rick Perry called the decision "a mistake" and "bad public policy."

EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson spoke to Perry about his waiver request by phone Thursday, shortly before Johnson was to announce the agency's decision publicly, said the governor's spokeswoman, Allison Castle.

A federal energy bill passed in December requires that 9 billion gallons of ethanol be blended into gasoline from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, 2009. Perry asked the EPA in April to drop the Renewable Fuels Standard requirement to 4.5 billion gallons, saying demand for ethanol is raising corn prices for livestock producers and driving up food prices.

"I am greatly disappointed with the EPA's inability to look past the good intentions of this policy to see the significant harm it is doing to farmers, ranchers and American households," Perry said. "For the EPA to assert that this federal mandate is not affecting food prices not only goes against common sense, but every American's grocery bill.”

Hawaii: Record Low of 64° on August 3, 2008

More empirical evidence that backs up the undeniable fact that we’re still in a strong cooling trend (see also Alaska’s summer cooling records). Of course, the alarmists will say this is just proof of “global warming” or “manmade climate change.” Or, La Nina’s cooling effect is just masking the warming for at least ten to twenty years, LOL!

Trade winds pick up; fire threat increases:

It may appear to be an abrupt change in conditions, after Maui County experienced a record low 64 degrees on Sunday that combined with steady afternoon showers to provide another near record 65 degrees on Monday, before the daytime temperature zipped up to a high of 91 degrees that afternoon.

Brit Lefty Laments the Fall of “Green” Fad

The U.K. is a lot further along than we are at dismissing the stupidity of the global warming cult (70% of Britons disbelieve in it); we dumb-sheep Americans are slowly learning that we’ve been taken for a ride (thankfully 58% of Americans believe that AGW poses NO THREAT AT ALL). Here, we have an obviously left-leaning guest columnist at the London Times, Alice Thompson, bemoaning the fact that people in the developed world are tossing aside their media-induced “green consciousness” faster than they discard the fads and fashions of yesteryear.

Now, this belief that environmentalists have that they’re “saving the planet” (which Nancy Pelosi so emphatically and laughably claims she’s doing at this very moment by resisting increased domestic drilling) is easily on display in this pile of rubbish called an “article.” The late, great George Carlin spoke very accurately about those enamored with this ridiculous convinction that they’re “saving the planet” through their silly actions; he said, “I’m getting tired of that sh*t.” You’re not the only one, George!

Dear Dummies,

You can't "save" something like our planet; it's impervious to our arrogant belief that we can do anything to it. The Earth was here thousands of millennia before we arrived on scene, and it will be here long after we're gone--silently existing and changing, as it always has.

Suddenly being green is not cool any more | Times:

As the credit crunch bites, environmental policies are being ditched. But oddly we are doing better at saving the planet

Julie Burchill can't stand them. According to her new book, Not in my Name: A Compendium of Modern Hypocrisy, she thinks all environmentalists are po-faced, unsexy, public school alumni who drivel on about the end of the world because they don't want the working classes to have any fun, go on foreign holidays or buy cheap clothes.

When David Cameron became leader of the Conservative Party he said that green issues were at the top of his agenda. His slogan for the local elections last year was “Vote Blue, Go Green”. But in the past few months he has realised that voters have lost the appetite for their greens.

He has only given one environmental speech since Christmas. Once he used to talk about putting a £3,000 windmill on top of his house. Now the message is not about conserving the planet but preserving his bank balance. He wears catalogue clothes, grows his own vegetables and holidays barefoot in Britain because it is less extravagant, not because he is trying to reduce his global footprint.

Boris Johnson was the first to realise that the tolerance for green taxes may have peaked. When he became Mayor of London, he dropped plans to charge a £25 congestion fee on gas-guzzling cars.

The Tories have quietly been reviewing many of their green policies. A range of measures designed to penalise motoring and other polluting activities has been put on hold in case they alienate families struggling to pay their bills. A proposal to tax the highest emitting cars up to £500 more than the greenest vehicles has been quietly shelved, as has the plan to raise taxes on short-haul flights. Instead George Osborne, the Shadow Chancellor, has promised to cut tax on fuel when oil prices rise.

It's the downturn that has made greenery look unappetising - but it may yet prove to do more than anything to
save the planet.

Alaska Mad At DC Democrats For Polar Bear “Protections”

As the left-thinking side of our nation continues in its attempts to push us over the “climate change cliff,” the governor of Alaska cried foul for playing with her state’s economic growth potential based on shoddy data and stupid science.

Alarmists love to claim that polar bears (and scores of other animals) are on the verge of extinction due to manmade global warming—an imagined “reality” that is completely stupid and without any merit in data or science (and that’s with consideration of the opinions and pseudo-science offered up by its usual suspects). The warmlist and Animal Death-Watch series list scores of such “endangered animals.” If you believe these “news” stories then you believe that the Earth will be without most flora and fauna within a few decades, which is the most comical thing I’ve ever heard...much less typed.

The hyperbolic paragraph below attributed to Kassie Siegel really brings home just what sort of crack these alarmists are smoking. POLAR BEARS ARE NOT EXTINCT and they are IN NO DANGER OF BEING EXTINCT! If anyone has their “head in the sand” it’s the stupid alarmists like Siegel, who continue to ignore the fact that manmade global warming is nonexistent.

In my opinion, the global warming hoax and cult have been completely exposed, but as long as the media still maintains its unassailability as truth then we’ll continue to watch as opportunists maneuver to take advantage in whatever way they can—whether for profit or political power (or both).

Alaska Sues U.S. Over 'Threatened' Polar Bear Status:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The state of Alaska sued Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne on Monday, seeking to reverse his decision to list polar bears as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act.

Gov. Sarah Palin and other state officials fear a listing will cripple offshore oil and gas development in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas in Alaska's northern waters, which provide prime habitat for the only polar bears under U.S. jurisdiction.

"We believe that the Service's decision to list the polar bear was not based on the best scientific and commercial data available," Palin said in announcing the lawsuit.

Kassie Siegel of the Center for Biological Diversity, the lead author of the petition that led to the listing, said U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service scientists addressed skeptics' objections during the listing process. She called the lawsuit "completely ridiculous and a waste of the court's time."

"This lawsuit and her head-in-the-sand approach to global warming only helps oil companies, certainly not Alaska or the polar bear," Siegel said. "Gov. Palin should be working for sustainable, clean energy development in Alaska instead of extinction for the polar bear."

Gorillas Ignore “Climate Change,” Expand Populations

You mean we've had a SIGNIFICANT INCREASE in the gorilla population? How is this possible given all the animals that global warming is driving to extinction? LOL!

Researchers Discover 125,000 Gorillas in Congo Forests:

EDINBURGH, Scotland — Wildlife researchers said Tuesday that they've discovered 125,000 western lowland gorillas deep in the forests of the Republic of Congo, calling it a major increase in the animal's estimated population.

The Wildlife Conservation Society, based at New York's Bronx Zoo, and the Republic of Congo said their census counted the newly discovered gorillas in two areas of the northern part of the country covering 18,000 square miles.

Revised Hurricane Season

Okay, I respect Dr. Gray for his global warming skepticism, but what he's doing here with the hurricane forecast is just revisionism--which is what the global warming phonies do (climate revisionism). When your predictions are going south, just find a way to make them right by revising what you said initially. Then you can never be wrong. In the case of global warming, you can still believe in the BS because it’s just “being masked” by cooling. LOL!

One thing is certain: The global warming alarmists will love this new forecast, because if it pans out they’ll be able to claim that this is more empirical evidence of global warming (while they ignore or denigrate contrary empirical evidence).

Contrary empirical evidence? When alarmists tell us that we can't use a mean temperature drop over one season (or even over the past ten years) to say that global warming is nonexistent, that's called dismissing empirical evidence. However, note how quickly they see a single cyclone or group of tornados (or anything else deemed anomalous) and claim that global warming was the cause? If they site empirical data, it's okay. If we realists do it, they say that we can't claim that against "the long-term average." "Long-term" in this case means the statistically non-significant period of roughly thirty years between 1970 and 2000. We've addressed how statistically stupid that is on here many times.

Colorado State Team Increases Hurricane Predictions:

The hurricane research team at Colorado State University increased the number of storms expected to form in the Atlantic Tuesday, predicting a total of 17 named storms.

The revised predictions were made based on warm sea surface temperatures and low sea level pressure over the tropical Atlantic Ocean in June and July as well as an active early season in the deep tropics, the university reported on its Web site.

Five named storms have already been observed this season, as Edouard hits Texas with high winds and a rising surf.

The team, formed by William Gray, whose predictions have not been accurate in recent years, predicted the six-month hurricane season would produce 15 storms, of which eight would be hurricanes, Reuters reported.

Brazilian Boondoggle

MoneyBoondoggle? You bet global warming is. Are other countries paying attention? Of course they are. Here we see Brazil with its hand out; they want “donations from developed countries” to help them “combat global warming.” Do you see? Profiteering...plain and simple.

"Developed countries" means you and I pay via our already generous federal tax contributions, and this supplements BILLIONS we already send to the third-world each year in aid. Such AGW-related scams are a dime-a-dozen these days.

Funny how the Brazilian President says that Brazil "will certainly assume its responsibility" in combating global warming, but instead of assuming the responsibility, they ask us for the money to assume responsibility. LOL!

This is all comes as Brazil recently rejected billions in US aid because the grant was linked to AIDS prevention campaigns that promoted abstinence and required anti-prostitution pledges.

I’m going to invent some environmentally friendly soap or something so that I can make some money too off this global warming nonsense. LOL!

Brazil's President Creates Fund to Protect Amazon, Combat Global Warming:

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva signed a decree Friday creating a fund that will seek donations from developed countries to help protect the Amazon rain forest and combat global warming.

Officials say the fund could raise as much as US$21 billion by 2021 for projects promoting alternatives to rain forest destruction, protecting nature preserves and developing scientific and technological advances to protect the environment.

"Brazil will certainly assume its responsibility to preserve the Amazon, to combat global warming," Silva said at a ceremony at Brazil's National Development Bank, which is charged with administering the fund.

Branson a Global Warming Virgin

VirginLOL! See I told you so...let's review Sir Richard Branson here, here, and here! It's all profiteering folks. Hope you can see that by now. If not then I have some oceanfront property to sell you in Montana.

Branson's 1.9B pledge to fight global warming (money paid to his own conglomerate - LOL) sounds a lot like Al Gore addressing critics of his personal energy usage by purchasing carbon credits--from his own company!

Branson’s bogus eco-drive | Sunday Business Post | Irish Business News:

The Virgin boss’s much trumpeted pledge of €1.9bn to tackle global warming is nothing but smoke and mirrors.

In September 2006, Virgin boss Richard Branson pledged €1.9 billion towards tackling global warming. For the next ten years, he announced, the profits from his aviation and rail businesses would go towards combating the biggest, most complex problem that mankind has ever faced.

The promise earned Branson headlines around the world. Media outlets carried photos of him, Bill Clinton and Al Gore at a Clinton Global Initiative press conference in New York. Adults, Branson solemnly told the assembled media, had a duty to pass a ‘‘pristine’’ planet on to the next generation. Politicians and campaigners were effusive in their praise for his imagination and generosity.

However, a look at the not-very-small print revealed that this amazing gesture would not be a matter of taking the profits from Branson’s polluting industries and using them to protect vast tracts of the Amazon.

In fact, the money would go to a new division of the Virgin conglomerate, called Virgin Fuel. Branson was simply gearing himself up to make more money. But as always, the PR spin was that he’d be doing the rest of us a favour in the process.

Scientists: Are they corruptible?

The angle of the association here to global warming is actually obvious if you think about it. I've written about it many times in this blog.

We skeptics and climate realists are told to more or less "shut up" (to shut off debate) when presenting calm, deliberate, scientific points and data that counter the pseudo-scientific basis of the global warming scam; the authority used to dismiss skeptics and turn off debate--even highly-intelligent, tenured atmospheric scientists--as outliers is based on a politically- and profit-driven "consensus."

The "consensus" is very questionable, since many once part of the consensus are abandoning their old theories, and we know of at least 31,000 scientists who are brave enough to declare AGW a huge lie.

One must ask: Can scientists have corrupt motivations, and can they internally justify their actions to the point of actually harming mankind? Dr. Ivins here apparently (and allegedly) did just that and only killed himself after it was apparent he was going to be held to account.

Now, I know alarmists will attempt to say that this is what denying, outlying, "flat-earth" scientists do, but they never think to question the authoritative basis of their own beliefs--authorities like Al Gore, Heidi Cullen, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Prince Charles, James Hansen, Bill Nye, and the list goes on. These names are seen time-and-again in the media to offset the credentials of actual climatologists who question--quite sanely--the scientific basis of the global warming cult; climatologists such as Dr. Roy Spencer (UAH and formerly with NASA), Dr. William Gray (CSU) and Dr. Richard Lindzen (MIT) make sensical, well-thought counter-arguments to the alarmism, but the usual tactic from the contrary side is to "name call" and denigrate with PC terminology designed to close off debate to the public's awareness (words like "denier," "consensus," and "IPCC").

Anthrax scientist Bruce Ivins stood to benefit from a panic - Los Angeles Times:

Bruce E. Ivins, the government biodefense scientist linked to the deadly anthrax mailings of 2001, stood to gain financially from massive federal spending in the fear-filled aftermath of those killings, the Los Angeles Times has learned.

Ivins is listed as a co-inventor on two patents for a genetically engineered anthrax vaccine, federal records show. Separately, Ivins also is listed as a co-inventor on an application to patent an additive for various biodefense vaccines.

GASP!: Global warming increasing jellyfish!

Jellyfish Motivationalposter

Just remember: Everything that seems weird (and of course...NEGATIVE in some way) right now is caused by global warming. Check out the warmlist and the GASP! series. Then go ahead and LOL!

Jellyfish Invasion Bothering Beachgoers, The Stinging Creatures Showing Up On Sand And In Water In Unusually High Numbers - CBS News:

"I think the level of jellyfish that we are seeing, and the fact that they outnumber the fish that we want to eat, is unprecedented," observes Margo Stiles, a marine scientist for Oceana, an organization dedicated to, as its Web site puts it, "protecting the world's oceans."

Marine biologists blame the overabundance of jellyfish on several factors, including global warming, the over-fishing of their predators, such as tuna, and pollution -- such as runoff from lawn fertilizer.

Animal Death-Watch: All male fish!

LOL! It’s comical. Okay, I know it’s getting old, but please look at the warmlist and pay attention to the section on extinctions being attributed to global warming, and while you’re at it, look at our Animal Death-Watch series to discern just how many animals we evil humans are killing off by just breathing and pooting out more greenhouse gases.

Oh, I know...fossil fuels. But the culprit is supposedly a byproduct of fossil fuel usage—that ever-present gas called CO2 that
plants just love to use to make O2 for us to breath via photosynthesis. CO2 is a greenhouse gas. It is increasing in our atmosphere. It is STILL a minor greenhouse gas compared to water vapor and methane, however, even in increasing amounts. CO2 has gone up over the past ten years while temperatures (if measurements are even accurate) have gone down (and plummeted over the past year).

Therefore, realize that GLOBAL WARMING IS
NONSENSE AND NON-EXISTENT, even though the propaganda machine is trying to hold on to the pipedream as if we “doubters” are worthless sub-humans that don’t deserve to be taken seriously. The British have already beaten us Americans to sanity (70% of Brits disbelieve in global warming versus 50% of Americans). I guess we Americans are more susceptible to media stories that tell us how to think and what to believe; I applaud the British for using their brains.

Global Warming's Fish-Sex Effect:

Once scientists began studying the impact of global warming on everything from tourism to asthma, it was only a matter of time before they got around to sex. Now two biologists at Spain's Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) have done just that, at least when it comes to fish.

You may have missed it in biology class, but in some finned species, like the Atlantic silverside — as well as in many reptiles — sex is determined not by genetics but by temperature: the undifferentiated embryo develops testes or ovaries on the basis of whichever option conveys evolutionary advantages for that particular environment.

Now, in a study published in the July 30 edition of the scientific journal Public Library of Science, Natalia Ospina-Alvarez and Francesc Piferrer have gone a little further in explaining how that mechanism works. In laboratory tests, they have demonstrated that higher water temperatures result in more male fish.

U.N.'s "No Oil, No Food" Program

The U.N. has had no real comment on the huge bolus of funds some of its most powerful members (ahem, Kofi Annan's son) embezzled over the years in programs like the “Oil for Food” scandal. Don’t look for that money to be returned, which could do a lot for the poorest people of the world--people whose plight the U.N. claims to champion. Heck, global warming alarmism--fueled by the U.N.'s hyperbolic IPCC--is harming the world's poorest nations as we speak.

So, my question is: Why has the U.N. just now done this after griping about climate change and global warming for years? Could this be more

Dear Simpletons at the U.N. (especially Ban Ki-moon), You cannot “mitigate climate change.” Even if the climate was changing in a truly measurable way (
and it is not), there would be nothing you could do to change it, because CO2 IS NOT CAUSING THE WORLD TO HEAT UP. Geez!

This little stunt is pure,
environmentally-tinged political grandstanding--nothing more or less.

U.N. thermostat to be set higher:

UNITED NATIONS | Everyone complains about climate change, and the United Nations is finally doing something about it - on Friday, the temperature inside U.N. headquarters in New York will rise by 5 degrees.

Ban Ki-moon, the United Nations' self-professed environmental secretary-general, ordered the "In-House Climate Change Initiative" to save energy, cut carbon emissions and try to mitigate climate change.

Officials said the month-long experiment - dubbed "Cool U.N." - also will allow engineers to test energy consumption and utility costs in the notoriously antiquated building.

Lefties give up their bottled water?

Ah, beautiful California. Home of beautiful coastlines, wonderful summer days, and fantastic palm trees. And it has unfortunately been overrun by psychopathic zealots, like Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, and even pseudo-conservative Ah-nuld Schwarzenegger. In the nineties, CA-based liberals made bottled water all the rage; you wouldn’t see a latte-slurping lefty chick at a health club without a huge bottle of Evian in tow. Now, to quote Bobby Bouchet’s mom, “Plastic bottles is the devil!”

Ahem, ahem...testing, testing, one, two...attention world! Global warming is the biggest bunch of cow dung ever crapped out of leftwing environmentalist political factions. Look at the science and empirical evidence on global warming and wake up from this mesmerized stupor into which the media has placed you through your own accommodating, hypnotized compliance.

CA. AG Cracks Down On Nestle Bottling Plant:

SACRAMENTO (AP) ― Attorney General Jerry Brown on Tuesday said he will sue to block a proposed water-bottling operation in Northern California unless its effects on global warming are evaluated.

Nestle Waters North America wants to pump about 200 million gallons of water a year from three natural springs that supply McCloud, about 280 miles north of San Francisco. Brown's office said that's enough to fill 3.1 billion 8-ounce plastic water bottles.

The water would be bottled at a 350,000-square-foot facility on the outskirts of the former lumber town.

The Swiss-based company scaled back its plans in May after years of opposition from environmentalists and a group of McCloud residents. It originally sought to pump more than double the amount of water.
