End of March: more winter in the midst of "warming"

Record-breaking snow this winter season in Caribou, Maine and Canada—and it’s still coming at the dead-end of March!

I guess this empirical evidence in opposition to the evidence normally associated with global warming (e.g., a warm spell) isn’t going to be touted by the alarmists anytime soon, unless of course they use the tactic they’ve used before—everything “record-breaking” or anomalous in the weather is proof of manmade climate change, whether it’s a winter-cold/heat anomaly, a summer-heat/cold anomaly, a flood anomaly, a drought anomaly, or cyclonic storm anomaly.

We’ve always had weather anomalies; that’s why almanacs have been published—to keep a historical record of those strange weather events that HAVE ALWAYS OCCURED. However, let’s not forget what the rest of world went through this winter. The media and propagandists have tried everything they can to hold on to the pipedream of AGW; and they’re not going to give it up (even with the scientific evidence mounting out there), because there’s too much money at stake and too many reputations on the brink.

Caribou sets snowfall record:

FORT KENT, Maine — It’s official. The 2007-08 snow season in northern Maine is one for the record books. Just in time for the start of spring.

The old record of 181.1 inches of snow recorded in Caribou, set in 1955, was shattered by noontime Friday when the National Weather Service in Caribou recorded 182.5 inches of snow since the start of the season.

Tons of Snow Test a Place Where Cold Is No Stranger - New York Times:
OTTAWA — People here are divided between those longing for a few more inches of snow to set a record and others who think the 14 feet that has already landed, and mostly lingered, is more than enough.

No one needs to ask Luc Guertin his view. His front yard on a suburban street here features his personal monument to eastern Canada’s unusually prolonged, relentless and snowy winter. A snow wall, about 18 ½ feet high, 6 to 10 feet wide and 30 feet long, rises along one edge of the driveway. Standing next to a flagpole at the top, a balaclava-clad mannequin holds a snow shovel aloft in “Rocky”-style triumph. A sign, decorated with fuzzy chickens, offers outdated Easter greetings to the steady stream of sightseers who make their way to Toulouse Crescent.

Newsweek: the "not-so-well" funded publication

Newsweek had a big story that I discussed recently about us “climate deniers” being a "well-funded machine." We skeptics (cynics or "flat earthers") are people that they most disrespectfully refer to in that article as “THEY,” as if we’re lepers or worse. Amazing how simply demanding debate (which we never get from those of the opposing position on AGW) can turn you into a outcast among certain groups of people. Interesting that their publication is going down the toilet. Au revoir!

Fresh Intelligence : Radar Online : Over 100 Staffers Leave Newsweek :

The staff of Newsweek will shrink dramatically, after 111 staffers on its news and business sides accepted a buyout last week. Among those leaving are some of the magazine's best-known, most-admired and longest-service critics, including David Gates, David Ansen and Cathleen McGuigan. Harold Shain, a former president of the magazine who moved over to sister publication Budget Travel at the beginning of this year, is also departing.

Gore launches "NEW" climate campaign?

You mean Al Gore was not ALREADY on an advocacy campaign for manmade climate change?! What the heck was his dumb movie? What the heck is that boatload of hot air permeating from his oral orifice on a near weekly basis via the media spotlight? Why is the media helping him create this illusion that this “NEW” campaign is somehow different from the one we’ve been witnessing for years? I guess this "new" campaign is for those of you tired of the old one.

Why won’t Al Gore—a cult-anointed climatologist—debate some of the smartest people in climate science, like Dr. Richard Lindzen, a climate scientist from MIT and fellow AGW skeptic? I know why. Because Gore's no authority whatsoever; he would have his shorts handed to him in a real scientific debate with a real scientist, because this ain’t politics, baby, though lately it’s getting harder to discern the difference between science and politics.

We deniers (those who are RIGHT ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE) need a fiscal benefactor to help us fight this load of bull. However, everyone with money in the debate is on the profiteering side of global warming, so we’ll likely be in for a long wait. We’re just going to have to wait for Mother Nature to continue to make buffoons of these alarmists in the way that this winter season did. Hopefully, Al Gore will still be alive by the time AGW is accepted as an undeniable hoax by a greater number of people than currently present in the skeptical ranks; then maybe someone will smarten up and sue his butt like John Coleman suggests.

Wouldn't that $300M be better served towards something real, like AIDS or the homeless?

Gore Launches Ambitious Advocacy Campaign on Climate:

Former vice president Al Gore will launch a three-year, $300 million campaign Wednesday aimed at mobilizing Americans to push for aggressive reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, a move that ranks as one of the most ambitious and costly public advocacy campaigns in U.S. history.

"Earth Hour" was actually a little dour

Earth Hour
Earth Hour…it was supposed to eliminate tons and tons of carbon in the atmosphere. It was a statement made by the environmentally-minded among us that they were going to make a stand!

In reality, contrary to the press reports otherwise, it was nothing and did nothing; it was a sham just like AGW itself. Symbolic garbage like this make these fruitcakes feel better about themselves, however.

Earth Hour crashes to Earth | Herald Sun Andrew Bolt Blog:

Credit the public with sense. Earth Hour, hysterically promoted by The Age, the Sydney Morning Herald, the ABC, SBS, Sky News and the federal and state governments, resulted in no significant fall in power usage.

The organisers will say never mind [about the lack of participation], this was about raising awareness (although not of raising awareness of the facts). But here’s the awareness it should raise: how difficult it is to get even a tiny cut in just electricity use for one lousy hour, in a country responsible for just 1.5 per cent of the world’s emissions.

And then think what the Rudd Government is promising: a 60 per cent cut in all emissions, all year. And it’s to be matched by every country around the world.

Meanwhile, the world has not warmed since 1998. Indeed, the oceans and atmosphere have cooled over the past couple.

Global-Warming Deniers: Well-funded?

One should read this entire article to see how blind these idiots are to their own unquestioning advocacy. They just don't see their own alarmism, hysteria, and kool-aid-drinking zealotry.

I'm still trying to figure out where my funds are for doing this? Oh, funds? Funds? Where are you, funds?! Could someone send me some funds, please. I get NOTHING FOR DOING THIS. I do this to fight stupidity.

They only forgot to call me a "flat earther." I'm insulted. Notice below that we say we hate being called "deniers." Why would we hate being branded as Nazis associated with the Holocaust...now, why on earth would anyone be insulted over that? Hmm...no clue there.

I like also how I'm part of a "THEY"--a "machine," if you will. I'm in a very exclusive club of smart people who aren't asleep and taking the spoon-feeding lying down. If I'm part of a "THEY" (a group of deniers) then why can't they also see themselves as a part of a "THEY" (a group of unquestioning alarmist advocates)?

Global-Warming Deniers: A Well-Funded Machine - Newsweek Technology - MSNBC.com:

Since the late 1980s, this well-coordinated, well-funded campaign by contrarian scientists, free-market think tanks and industry has created a paralyzing fog of doubt around climate change. Through advertisements, op-eds, lobbying and media attention, greenhouse doubters (they hate being called deniers) argued first that the world is not warming; measurements indicating otherwise are flawed, they said. Then they claimed that any warming is natural, not caused by human activities. Now they contend that the looming warming will be minuscule and harmless. "They patterned what they did after the tobacco industry," says former senator Tim Wirth, who spearheaded environmental issues as an under secretary of State in the Clinton administration. "Both figured, sow enough doubt, call the science uncertain and in dispute. That's had a huge impact on both the public and Congress."

Animal Death-Watch: Frog disappearance now disputed

I can barely believe I’m reading this. If the NYT is slowly turning on global warming theory, what next? Here we see that these poor, helpless frogs that we were killing off due to our evil human transgressions are actually not biting it thanks to our love of capitalism. Yes, a fungus is responsible. Not human-induced climate change as originally claimed with glee.

Link to Global Warming in Frogs’ Disappearance Is Challenged - New York Times:

In the scientific equivalent of the board game Clue, teams of biologists have been sifting spotty evidence and pointing to various culprits in the widespread vanishing of harlequin frogs.

The amphibians, of the genus Atelopus — actually toads despite their common name — once hopped in great numbers along stream banks on misty slopes from the Andes to Costa Rica. After 20 years of die-offs, they are listed as critically endangered by conservation groups and are mainly seen in zoos.

It looked as if one research team was a winner in 2006 when global warming was identified as the “trigger” in the extinctions by the authors of a much-cited paper in Nature. The researchers said they had found a clear link between unusually warm years and the vanishing of mountainside frog populations.

CO2 vs Global Mean Temperature

Read it and weep, warmaholics! CO2 keeps going up while the temperature went down from the claimed 1998 high (if you believe the baseline) and plateaued. Notice which year is missing on this graph? This past winter (2008) saw the temperature spike sharply downward (way below the zero baseline). See this graph to see what the temperature waveform looks like with 2008 added. Notice that if you do believe the baseline (which is highly suspect), there HAS BEEN NO WARMING SINCE 1998!!! With the increasing CO2, there should be more warming, if we're to believe the theory being shoved down our throats by the "consensus."

This is all the scientific proof needed to dispel the myth, but the media and alarmists are predictably ignoring all this evidence (and all the empirical evidence of the past year that points to cooling).

GASP!: AGW causing more bee stings

Bee
Add this to the considerable list of things caused by "manmade climate change."

Warming seen having immunological consequences | Environment | Reuters
:

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters Health) - The first two bee sting-related deaths were reported in Fairbanks, Alaska in the summer of 2006, which researchers suspect was a consequence of global warming; and they predict that this is just the beginning.

Honeybees and yellow jackets were rare in the area until the past few years. "The yellow jacket population has increased tenfold and the first two sting-related deaths were reported," Dr. Jeffrey Demain of the University of Alaska in Anchorage told attendees here this week at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Media tries to spray paint your eyes (and brain)

Yep, this past winter was record-breaking worldwide. I've linked to countless stories on this blog from all over the world showing just what an awful winter we've had over the past year (2008). "Global warming" has reversed itself completely (100 years of warming gone in one year, if--and that's a big IF--you believe their baseline that showed 1998 was the warmest on record).

So, what does the media do when it has an agenda? Why, stoke the myth of course! Here we see empirical evidence touted as proof of warming, while ignoring the pile of empirical (and scientific) evidence we've had that shows a cooling trend. Typical...but we've discussed why that is before. Too many reputations stand to suffer greatly if that CO2 fart cloud dissipates.

Study shows Russian and Canadian winter days much milder | Environment | Reuters
:

OSLO (Reuters) - The coldest winter days in Russia and Canada have become up to 4 Celsius (7 Fahrenheit) milder since the 1950s in an extreme sign of climate change, the British Meteorological Office said on Wednesday.

A study of daily minimum and maximum temperatures said that a trend towards warmer nights and hotter days was set to bring more heatwaves and shifts in crop growing seasons.

"Minimum temperatures have seen the biggest increases, most notably over Russia and Canada, where the coldest days are now up to 4 Celsius warmer than they were in the middle of the 20th century," the Met Office's Hadley Centre said.

Governments work to save us sheep from doom

And yet, CO2 emissions continue to rise while the mean global temperature has fallen!

Britain's 2007 emissions fall, on track for Kyoto | Environment | Reuters

LONDON (Reuters) - British greenhouse gas emissions fell nearly two percent in 2007, keeping the country on track to meet its targets under the Kyoto Protocol, the government's environmental agency said on Thursday.
U.N. human rights body turns to climate change | Environment | Reuters:
GENEVA (Reuters) - Climate change could erode the human rights of people living in small island states, coastal areas and parts of the world subjected to drought and floods, the U.N. Human Rights Council said on Friday.
Climate negotiators start work on Kyoto II | Environment | Reuters:
BANGKOK (Reuters) - Scientists and officials from across the world meet in Thailand this week for the first formal talks in the long process of drawing up a replacement for the Kyoto climate change pact by the end of 2009.

Around 190 nations agreed in Bali last year to start the two-year negotiations to replace Kyoto, which only binds 37 rich nations to cut emissions of greenhouse gases by an average of five percent from 1990 levels by 2012.

Here's a reason why our "actions" to save us will fail; we will have to disavow capitalism to make all the psychos happy. It's the only way.

Wait, I thought dark colors absorbed light, which theoretically would warm up the earth more? Chlorophyll has a dark green color, so losing trees should theoretically cool the earth. Oh that's right...alarmists claim the sun has nothing to do with global warming. They're obviously taking the position that losing the trees raises CO2 levels...except that CO2 has NOTHING TO DO WITH WARMING! It comes AFTER WARMING...NOT BEFORE.
Asia must reverse deforestation: U.N. | Environment | Reuters:
NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Parts of Asia are losing more than 28,000 square kilometers (10,800 square miles) of forest every year, a trend that must to be reversed immediately to fight climate change, a United Nations report said on Thursday.
As I already mentioned, even if we BELIEVE (as in have ‘blind faith’ in the ‘consensus’ as we’ve been instructed to do by the media), there’s no workable solution to reverse the nonexistent warming that they’ve imagined. Kyoto won’t work—far too expensive for the estimated net CO2 reductions. Mercury-tainted light bulbs won’t work; they poison the planet worse than the perceived “pollution” of greenhouse gases (please note that we would all be frozen popsicles without greenhouse gases in our atmosphere to hold in the sun’s heat). Some climate alarmists even believe that we’ll all be dead in a few decades, regardless of what we do to fix the problem.

Regardless of whether biofuels increase or reduce greenhouse gases, here’s one certain thing that we can already see—they’re driving up the price of corn, which is a staple food for the poorest people in the world. We also use corn to feed livestock, which is another food staple—providing beef, cheese, and milk. Food is already under several price pressures; surely we shouldn’t help prices creep up further, due to our religious-like zealotry with this climate change baloney.

So you fruitcakes are just hurting the people that you always claim to champion. This time, you’re hurting them under the guise of saving the planet; the only problem is that the planet doesn’t need your help, you arrogant bunch of know-it-all kool-aid drinkers!

Top scientists warn against rush to biofuel | Environment | The Guardian:
Gordon Brown is preparing for a battle with the European Union over biofuels after one of the government's leading scientists warned they could exacerbate climate change rather than combat it.
In an outspoken attack on a policy which comes into force next week, Professor Bob Watson, the chief scientific adviser at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, said it would be wrong to introduce compulsory quotas for the use of biofuels in petrol and diesel before their effects had been properly assessed.

N.H. snowfall nearing all-time record...IN LATE MARCH!

While icebergs are breaking apart and killing seals, winter in America (and most of the rest of the flat earth) threatens to continue into April. The story below is from March 28, 2008.

Again, if you consider empirical evidence like crumbling ice in the Antarctic, you also must consider the voluminous stories about the winter this year that erased 100 years of "warming" in one season!

N.H. snowfall now 3rd in all-time list - USATODAY.com:

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Today's snow has moved New Hampshire up a notch in the list of all-time snowy winters, making this the snowiest winter in 135 years.

The National Weather Service says that as of 7 a.m., an inch of snow had fallen in Concord from the latest storm. That inch moved the state into third place for all-time snowfall, at 113.4 inches. It hasn't snowed this much since the winter of 1872-73.

While seals continue "dying" in the Antarctic due to AGW-created melting ice, seal hunters in Canada have a different, opposing problem. Huh?

Thick ice hinders Canada's controversial seal hunt | Environment | Reuters:

CHARLOTTETOWN, Prince Edward Island (Reuters) - Canada's annual seal hunt, which the government promised would be more humane this year, cranked up slowly on Friday because of thick ice.

The government is allowing hunters to kill up to 275,000 young harp seals on the ice floes off Eastern Canada, but only three had been reported killed on the first morning of the hunt in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

"It's a very slow start," said Phil Jenkins, spokesman for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, noting that sealing boats were finding it difficult to get to the herds because of thick ice.

Absolute iceberg malarkey

For the fearmongering and alarmist portions of the article, please follow the link and read it for yourself. I've highlighted the disclaimer portions below (my emphasis in bold), whereby the author is letting loose little facts that actually detract from the fear this story is meant to instill in you (because of your greenhouse gas emissions, loser).

These collapses happen. They ARE NOT PROOF that human-emitted CO2 is causing the earth to warm. Don't let them snow you, so to speak.

Now, look here to see where ice is reforming. Note how they're still not wanting to admit that the new ice means anything.

Pressdemo.com Headlines | Western Antarctic Ice Chunk Collapses:

While icebergs naturally break away from the mainland, collapses like this are unusual but are happening more frequently in recent decades, Vaughan said. The collapse is similar to what happens to hardened glass when it is smashed with a hammer, he said.

Climate in Antarctica is complicated and more isolated from the rest of the world.

Much of the continent is not warming and some parts are even cooling, Vaughan said. However, the western peninsula, which includes the Wilkins ice shelf, juts out into the ocean and is warming. This is the part of the continent where scientists are most concern about ice-melt triggering sea level rise.

Here's Reuter's version, which is even more preposterous. Note the huge leap he makes in the last paragraph; they're watching ice break up, and that's all. They HAVE NOT IN ANY WAY TIED THIS TO GREENHOUSE GASES. A high school science student could recognize what an abysmal bit of reaching that is in terms of the scientific method. PUH-LEEEZZZZEEE!!! Again, this is empirical evidence, and empirical evidence pointing in the other direction is always ignored or sited as proof of manmade climate change (i.e., record cold and snow THIS VERY WINTER ACROSS THE WORLD). Let's also not forget this unfortunate fact--the earth has cooled FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS, while CO2 levels have reportedly continued rising; why are these "geniuses" ignoring this?

If he has to say it has been in place for "at least a few hundred years," does that mean he knows for sure? And if so, how did it form before 200 years ago. Can it form again? Scam-bos is a good name for this guy. The NYT is giving its opinion too, so I'll be watching the Wilkins ice shelf carefully, even though they admit in the editorial it will reform due to the winter that's now starting...which is funny, because it means it just broke up during a seasonally warmer period?!

Slab of Antarctic ice shelf collapses amid warming | Reuters
:

"One corner of it that's exposed to the ocean is shattering in a pattern that we've seen in a few places over the past 10 or 15 years. In every case, we've eventually concluded that it's a result of climate warming," Scambos added.

Scambos said this ice shelf has been in place for at least a few hundred years, but warm air and exposure to ocean waves are causing a breakup.

"The warming that's going on in the peninsula is pretty clearly tied to greenhouse gas increases and the change that they have in the atmospheric circulation around the Antarctic," Scambos said.

U.S. West warming too fast?

First, follow the link and read the Reuters article...

U.S. West warming faster than rest of world: study | Environment | Reuters
:

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The U.S. West is heating up at nearly twice the rate of the rest of the world and is likely to face more drought conditions in many of its fast-growing cities, an environmental group said on Thursday.
"Global warming is hitting the West hard," said Theo Spencer of the NRDC. "It is already taking an economic toll on the region's tourism, recreation, skiing, hunting and fishing activities."
Now read this and this. This Reuters article is another in a long line of alarmist predictions that have eventually proven wrong, and this one will too. Let's watch and see what happens...oh, that's right...we have to ACT NOW! Isn't that what snake-oil salesmen on television infomercials want us to do?

No credit given to like-minded "conservatives"

For some reason (and the reason is probably hate), the media refuses to believe how supportive Bush and like-minded, moderate Republicans (like John McCain) are on "climate change" issues, because these two "conservatives" actually back government action on global warming, which is laughable and ultimately destructive.

My guess is that they see the dollar signs too. Get ready to take a punch in the stomach, America. If gas prices weren't bad enough, they're going to take more from you in taxes too.

Government to propose CO2 rules this spring | Reuters
:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Bush administration, which has resisted regulating carbon dioxide emissions, this spring will propose rules that could affect everything from vehicles to power plants and oil refineries, the top U.S. environmental official told Congress on Thursday.

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Stephen Johnson said the agency will issue proposed rules "later this spring" on "the specific effects of climate change and potential regulation of greenhouse gas emissions from stationary and mobile sources."

This NYT editorial proves a point beyond what I explored above. First, as you can see...they don't believe Bush for a second, and they'll turn on McCain too if elected. Second, the U.S. Supreme Court ordered the EPA to DETERMINE IF CO2 IS A PROBLEM; THEY DID NOT SAY IT WAS A PROBLEM, which they aren't qualified to do. If I were in charge of the EPA, I would let things ride too, because CO2-caused global warming is such an obvious sham and farce that it's laughable.

More Flimflam on Warming - New York Times:
On April 2, 2007, the Supreme Court ruled that the Clean Air Act clearly empowered the Environmental Protection Agency to address greenhouse gas emissions from cars and trucks. The ruling instructed the agency to determine whether global warming pollution endangers public health and welfare — an “endangerment finding” — and, if so, to devise emissions standards for motor vehicles. One year has passed, and despite repeated promises from President Bush and the E.P.A. administrator, Stephen Johnson, nothing has happened. And it seems increasingly likely that nothing will happen while Mr. Bush remains in office. Last week, Mr. Johnson notified Congress that he had discovered new regulatory complexities and decided against immediate action. Instead, he planned to offer an “advanced notice of proposed rule-making,” which requires a lengthy comment period and a laborious bureaucratic process that would almost certainly stretch beyond the end of Mr. Bush’s term.

Scientist demands that ABC apologize

Steven Milloy from junkscience.com had a great write up on this subject just the other day.

FOXNews.com - Junk Science: Global Smearing - Opinion:

By any standard, atmospheric physicist Dr. S. Fred Singer is a remarkably accomplished scientist. But his outspoken questioning of global warming alarmism has just earned him one of the most outrageous mainstream media smear pieces I’ve ever seen.

ABC News reporter Dan Harris interviewed Singer for more than an hour at the recent International Climate Conference. From that interview, Harris produced a three-minute TV broadcast and Web site article that was about as fair and objective toward Singer as I might expect Greenpeace to be.

Thanks also to Noel Sheppard at NB! Great read. Don't think the media has chosen a side, eh? Oh, that's right...the consensus can't be questioned. I forgot...sorry Jim Jones Gore.

Scientist Demands Apology From ABC for Global Warming Hit Piece | NewsBusters.org:

LETTER TO ABC NEWS

TO: Felicia Biberica Fiona Conway
Producer Executive director ABC News
ABC News
W. 66th St.
New York City 10023

Dear Ms Biberica and Ms Conway March 25, 2008

I share the anger expressed in nearly 100 postings (so far) at the shoddy handling of my interview aired on March 23: It was an appalling display of bias, unfairness, journalistic misbehavior, and a breakdown of ethical standards. It used prejudicial language, distorted facts, libelous insinuations, and anonymous smears. I urge you to read the postings; only one person offered any support to ABC, as far as I can see.

I put the following account on my website www.sepp.org:

1. Interviewer Dan Harris used a man from Greenpeace who spouted conspiracy theories about me, showing someone's diagram that 'connects' me to groups alleged to be financed by oil companies. The only purpose I can think of is to suggest to viewers that I am in the pay of oil companies and that therefore my science is somehow tainted and not credible. First, the suggestion is completely false. I am not financed or supported by oil companies or by any industry. Then, Harris tried to suggest that I misrepresented by denying oil company support but admitting receiving an unsolicited donation. I draw a distinction --as would any reasonable person -- between being 'supported' and between a single charitable donation (constituting a tiny fraction of 1%) of all donations received. Finally, the word 'connected' is imprecise, and can mean anything from being on a mailing list to holding a position and receiving a salary. In my case it is definitely the former.

2. Dan Harris also referred to unnamed scientists from NASA, Princeton and Stanford, who pronounced what I do as 'fraudulent nonsense.' [The ABC website changed it to 'fabricated' nonsense - perhaps on advice of ABC's lawyers.] They are easily identified as the well-known Global Warming zealots Jim Hansen, Michael Oppenheimer, and Steve Schneider. They should be asked by ABC to put their money where their mouth is and have a scientific debate with me. [I suspect they'll chicken out. They surely know that the facts support my position -- so they resort to anonymous slurs.] Hansen is no longer the careful scientist he was but has turned into an ideologue willing to publish junk 'research'. Oppenheimer, who may still be on the payroll of Environmental Defense, an activist lobbying group, has negligible credentials. Schneider has not published significant research in years. Both Hansen and Oppenheimer could be labeled as ‘Contrarians’ since they disagree with important conclusions of the UN-IPCC.

3. Dan Harris did mention my doubts about the lung-cancer effects of Second-Hand Smoke, about the danger of toxic waste (spent nuclear fuel), and about 'Nuclear Winter.' All true -- Dan did his research but withheld the full story. On SHS, I simply quoted from the experts (see attached review article from a noted medical doctor, specializing in lung disease). Nuclear fuel presents no technical problems, only political ones. France and Britain handle its disposal; why don't we? 'Nuclear Winter' (which burst onto the scene in 1983 -- and disappeared quickly) was basically a fraud, invented to shore up an ideological position. We disposed of it in a debate moderated by Ted Koppel on ABC-Nightline. But Harris left the audience with the impression that I am a ‘career skeptic’, and therefore my skepticism about manmade GW should be ignored.

4. Yours is supposed to be a news program not an opinion journal. Dan Harris completely ignored the new scientific evidence against anthropogenic (human-caused) global warming (AGW) and the fact that 100 other scientists presented papers that support this view. The Heartland Conference in NY had an attendance of more than 500, practically all of them AGW skeptics. That’s news, but ABC ignored it.

Conclusion: ABC owes it to its audience and to me to make appropriate corrections -- an apology and retraction by Dan Harris on the World News program.

Sincerely,

S. Fred Singer, PhD (Physics, Princeton)

Fellow, American Geophysical Union
Fellow, American Physical Society

How cute! Let's dim the lights and "save" each other...

Earth Hour

Throw this one in the stupid bin along with the mercury-tainted light bulb. Guess who didn't dim their lights? My house! And my city seemed as bright as usual. Isn't this sort of like that stupid myth that if everyone refuses to buy gas from Texaco for one day that they'll have to drop the price??!! GEEZ!

Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters also has some very good commentary on this tree-hugging event; even Google got in on it, which I'm sure saved us a few more years on the earth.

Earth Hour goes global | Reuters
:

LONDON/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The Sydney Opera House to San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge went dark as people switched off lights in their homes and skylines dimmed around the world on Saturday to show concern with global warming.

Up to 30 million people were expected to have turned off their lights for 60 minutes by the time "Earth Hour" -- which started in Suva in Fiji and Christchurch in New Zealand -- completed its cycle westward.

Inhabitat » LIGHTS OFF EVERYONE: Global Earth Hour is Tonight!:
Last year, more than 2.2 million Earth Hour participants shut off their lights throughout Sydney in a powerful stand in support of protecting the environment. Tonight, the lights off action is going global! Around the world, cities on every continent - including Atlanta, Bangkok, Bogota, Chicago, Dublin, Montreal, Manilla, San Francisco, Sydney, Tel Aviv and more - 20,000+ businesses and almost 300,000 individuals have signed up to turn off the lights and turn up environmental awareness.

Carbon profiteering, scientific intimidation, and U.S. history

Carboncredit

Why is a flawed theory (that has been so thoroughly debunked that it's not funny) still so widely accepted and espoused by media and politicians alike? Follow the dollars, my friend. Dollars for research grants and dollars for carbon credits (including credits from Gore's own company--that he buys from himself) and other emerging climate technologies (such as biofuels) spell big money for everyone except you common sheep out there.
2007 EU carbon data due out April 1| Environment | Reuters:
Under the EU's carbon market, energy-intensive industry has to submit an emissions permit called an EU Allowance (EUA) for every ton of carbon dioxide emissions.

Emissions data is therefore closely watched because it shows the level of demand for such permits and so the appropriate carbon price.

Check out Dr. Richard Lindzen's (an atmospheric scientist at MIT and a DENIER) excellent piece on the subject. He's another one of those "outlier" scientists as labeled by Al Gore. Do you believe this MIT climate scientist knows more about the climate science than Al Gore? I hope so...

The Wall Street Journal Online - Extra | Climate of Fear - Global-warming alarmists intimidate dissenting scientists into silence:

The answer has much to do with misunderstanding the science of climate, plus a willingness to debase climate science into a triangle of alarmism. Ambiguous scientific statements about climate are hyped by those with a vested interest in alarm, thus raising the political stakes for policy makers who provide funds for more science research to feed more alarm to increase the political stakes. After all, who puts money into science--whether for AIDS, or space, or climate--where there is nothing really alarming? Indeed, the success of climate alarmism can be counted in the increased federal spending on climate research from a few hundred million dollars pre-1990 to $1.7 billion today. It can also be seen in heightened spending on solar, wind, hydrogen, ethanol and clean coal technologies, as well as on other energy-investment decisions.
More on profiteering below with respect to climate change and Guyana. It's easy to see why it's not going to go away easily, even with all the mounting scientific evidence and the opinions of scientists (some who were once on the IPCC); there's too much money at stake--research money for scientists and profit for politicians. When ethical scientists speak up, they're essentially shoved down by the all-powerful "consensus" because the ethical scientists are "taking food off the table."

Remember, our Founding Fathers did this sort of thing, too; they went to war to "free the colonists from evil British oppression," but they were, in reality, protecting their own personal and business interests. Profiteering under noble guises is not a new thing to America; it's almost part of America! History does repeat itself. The Boston "Massacre" and resulting outrage from the inflamed, biased media coverage in the form of Paul Revere's engraving was the major impetus behind stirring popular dissent and starting the Revolutionary War! Don't think the media doesn't still do these things! Don't think our leaders, regardless of party, are no longer elites and out for their own best interests! Your interests only become their interests when popular opinion threatens their hold on power (and thus wealth).

Investor buys Guyana forest's rain and carbon | Environment | Reuters
:

LONDON (Reuters) - The British-based investment firm Canopy Capital said on Thursday it had bought a share in the rain-making potential of a chunk of Guyanan rainforest bigger than the Mediterranean island of Mallorca.

The move is a novel twist in an investor frenzy to make money from the prospect of climate change that has also seen businesses snap up permits to emit greenhouse gases and invest in low carbon-emitting technologies.

Need more proof? Here's where two countries are trying to find cheaper "wiggle room" with regard to carbon credits, but you can bet Al Gore and company aren't going to stand by and let that happen. Carbon credits that are cheap would cut into their profits!

Spain, Ireland join cheap carbon credit chase | Environment | Reuters:

That cheaper, alternative route has drawn criticism not only from environmentalists but also from carbon traders who want to make money from selling carbon offsets to countries struggling to meet their Kyoto caps.
Don't be fooled by the article below. Oil firms already wanted to explore these regions and have the technology to do so; they have been prevented by the environmentalist lobby from carrying through, however. The media wants you to fear both the "melting ice" and those evil oil companies who would "compound" the problem.

Ice shrink in Arctic sea may attract oil firms | Environment | Reuters:

Oil and gas companies are pushing north into the Barents Sea, seeking new reserves. Scientists say climate change may make the region less inhospitable and prices around $100 a barrel can justify exploration despite high costs.

Chief climate dufus Gore: Deniers are flat earthers

Can't this twerp come up with an original thought? I have already listed examples where other alarmists have called we skeptics "flat earthers." This proves what a dunderhead this guy really is--he can't say anything unless he gets it from someone else. Then he says it like he invented it--just like he claimed to create the internet.

When one can't debate based on science, one must resort to name calling. So, go ahead Al...call me a name. Now, say something about this or this or this. I could easily go on, since that's the entire point of this blog--keep a record of what baloney all this climate nonsense turns out to be. I already know it's baloney, but apparently there are quite a few of you sheep out there who have been programmed already by the media and other elements anxious to make a profit.

Here's a new name to call us, alarmists. Call us REALISTS. Because to believe in global warming after it's already proven an obvious fraud is to be a kool-aid-drinking crack smoker. But I understand the testiness. We just had a record-setting winter the world over; you Chicken Littles are in a panic, because you've been proclaiming our doom for years, and we're now seeing that there has been no warming since 1998, while CO2 continues rising. The myth is falling apart.

And remember...names like this can work both ways. It may be you alarmists who are the "flat earthers" for believing in global warming. I assert that this untenable position is the faulty one and has already been proven so.

Gore's Message To Climate Change Skeptics, Tells 60 Minutes That Doubting Global Warming Is Man-Made Is Akin To Believing Earth Is Flat - CBS News:

(CBS) Self-avowed "P.R. agent for the planet" Al Gore says those who still doubt that global warming is caused by man - among them, Vice President Dick Cheney - are acting like the fringe groups who think the 1969 moon landing never really happened, or who once believed the world is flat.

Drought...a new concept?

Okay, let's just take Reuters at its word. Let's assume that experts--who are never named (we'll just believe them when they say it)--are correct that the empirical evidence of drought (drought anywhere...but here in Cyprus) is proof of MANMADE climate change.

Where was the talk of a manmade climate disasters when we've had countless droughts and resulting famines throughout history? Droughts are not new! Remember the Dust Bowl of the Great Depression? Those areas are no longer in a drought, but shouldn't they be if manmade climate change is screwing up the earth?

What do the same experts say about this past horrid winter that we've had almost worldwide, including Greece (located right next to Cyprus) that had record snowfall? That's empirical evidence too, but it's either ignored or, insanely, sited as proof of global warming! Warming and cooling are proof of warming?

And the way I'm reading the literature, Cyprus has a climate that seems capable of displaying drought conditions!

The climate is temperate and Mediterranean with dry summers and variably rainy winters. Summer temperatures range from warm at higher elevations in the Tröodos mountains to hot in the lowlands. Winter temperatures are mild at lower elevations, where snow rarely occurs, but are significantly colder in the mountains with sufficient snow for seasonal ski facilities. Dust storms are frequent throughout the year.
Drought-hit Cyprus starts emergency water rations | Reuters:
Official accounts suggest rainfall in Cyprus has fallen by about 20 percent over the past 35 years, a decline experts attribute to climate change.

NYT: Science at risk to politics?

Note the sentence in bold within the NYT story; this is the ever-present attempt by political elements to blame everything deemed wrong with this planet on the Bush administration, including the lie of global warming, which is ironic because Bush actually (stupidly) backs all of this global warming nonsense.

Since when did Al Gore qualify as a bringer of science? Is he on par with Einstein or Newton? I know he claims to tout science in his rhetoric, but his claims and presentations have proven flawed on many levels. Ladies and Gentleman...do I really need to remind you that Al Gore is a politician? Remember his years in the Senate? Remember his years as Vice President? Remember his run for the White House in 2000? How in the hell did he become elevated to the level of an exalted scholar of science on a subject in which he has ZERO EXPERIENCE (either practically or academically)--a subject with POLITICAL IMPLICATIONS in terms of its potential solutions?

I love how one side of politics in this country tries to claim the high ground; they, and only they, are following "science," which is often called "consensus" to halt debate. The implication is that this "science" is devoid of politics, which is absurd. This so-called scientifically proven "problem" has everything to do with grant funding and politics.

Don't be fooled, America! Remember, it's the NYT!

Science at Risk - New York Times:

Nobody was greatly surprised last week when Stephen Johnson, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, proposed new limits on smog-forming pollutants that were weaker than those his scientists had recommended — and more to the liking of industry. In the Bush administration, contests between politics and science are usually resolved in favor of politics.

Artist prefers 'human-free' world

Kool Aid
When the nutjob artists start basing their portfolios around perceived AGW-caused disasters, it's time to drink some kool-aid. The last sentence in this reply shows clearly that Sasha is a kool-aid drinker.

Kimberly Brooks: The Art of Global Warming: Photographer Sasha Bezzubov - Living on The Huffington Post:

KB: Has this series made you more of an "environmentalist", per se?

SB: That's a really good question. On the one hand I share with environmentalists the conviction that we need to act now in order to slow the pace of stress that we're putting out climate and environment in general through. I think that if we need to make economic sacrifices to slow climate change and other deleterious effects of our industry, and this is debatable, they are preferable to the possibility of living out our days in a hostile world of warming climate, increasing natural disasters and diminishing resources. And in my little ways I'm trying to live that ideal. On the other hand if we all stopped reproducing tomorrow, in a hundred years Earth would be human-free, which may be the most environment friendly act.

In the British Virgin Isles, the fruitcakes gather

Don't forget Richard Branson's interest in global warming; he sees the dollar signs.

At island retreat, Branson and friends seek to save a world 'on fire' - International Herald Tribune:

NECKER ISLAND,British Virgin Islands: Richard Branson was lounging under the starry midnight sky on this palm-dappled speck of an island recently when he popped a sobering question.

"So, do we really think the world is on fire?" Branson, the British magnate and adventurer, asked several guests, as a manservant scurried off to fetch him another glass of pinot grigio.

What he wanted to know was whether his high-powered visitors, among them Larry Page of Google, Jimmy Wales of Wikipedia and Tony Blair, the former British prime minister, thought global warming threatened the planet.

Branson does - and so did most of his guests.

Nearly April...more snow

Cold, snowy winter over yet? Nope. What happened to global warming's rush of spring? It's nearly April folks. Wisconsin has had 95 inches of snow this winter, the second highest ever recorded. Michigan? They're faring no better; they've had their snowiest season ever. Where's spring? Oh, spring!? Where are you, spring? I thought it was rushing. Darn those pesky predictions.

JS Online: Snow suspends spring :

Like an aging prizefighter still packing a mean punch, the mighty winter of 2007-'08 took another swing at southern Wisconsin on Friday, smacking the area with up to 15 inches of snow and knocking out plans for thousands of Good Friday travelers at Mitchell International Airport.

The 10.9 inches of snow measured at the airport by 10 p.m. raised the winter's total to the second highest on record for a single season - 95.4 inches.

"We've been fighting a very hard fight with Mother Nature all day," airport spokesman Ryan McAdams said after the decision was made Friday evening to cancel all flights for the rest of the night.

"Even when we have been able to get the runways open, the airlines haven't been able to get their flights in the air."

McAdams said passengers with morning flights today should check with airlines before setting out.

Motorists didn't fare much better, with snow- and ice-clogged streets and highways prompting officials to warn people to stay off the roads.

"We're buried in snow," said Dodge County Sheriff Todd Nehls at noon Friday.

It's a record year for snowfall - MLive.com:
It's just as you suspected - this has been the snowiest winter ever in the Ann Arbor area, or at least since 1880 when record-keeping started.

And it's not over yet.

Leisa Thompson | The Ann Arbor News
A pedestrian makes her way along Plymouth Road as the snow fell in Ann Arbor Friday.

That's because we're not even into April, a month that normally averages almost 2.5 inches of that pesky white stuff.
If this winter continues the way it's been going, we could be in store for more than that.

Consider this month.

Normally in March, we get about 8.3 inches of snow, said Dennis Kahlbaum, a University of Michigan weather observer. So far in March, with more than a week to go, we've seen 16.7 inches of fluffy precipitation.

The British Chicken Little

Chicken-Little The Mayan calendar predicts we're gone in 2012. Nostradamus made all sorts of dire "predictions" in his obscure quatrains, which we always assign to events after the fact. Edgar Cayce said the end would come in 1999. Prophets, thinkers, and scientists have made predictions for ages about various subjects, including the end of the world, and have been wronger than wrong. Even Sir Isaac Newton said it should all be over by now (approximately 1949).

Now we have a new religion called AGW, and its disciples are predicting the end of days once more. Lovelock says we're done for in 2040 because of global warming; he'll be long gone by then, and many of us will too. Those of us left likely won't even remember this ridiculous prediction.

As the hysteria of global warming fanatics is slowly unraveled and exposed, their cries of doom become more shrill and preposterous. When you wrap your entire existence around BS, this is what transpires.

We're all doomed! 40 years from global catastrophe - and there's NOTHING we can do about it, says climate change expert | the Daily Mail:

According to the climate change scientist James Lovelock, this is the beginning of the end of a peaceful phase in evolution.

By 2040, the world population of more than six billion will have been culled by floods, drought and famine.

He has been proclaiming his Gaia Theory for a generation. This states that the Earth is a living, self-regulating system and that by filling its atmosphere with CO2 (carbon dioxide emissions) we have destroyed the balance and overheated the planet. We are in the phase when the thermometer suddenly shoots up.

Lovelock believes it is too late to repair the damage. Government targets are "futile". Britain contributes such a tiny amount of emissions compared with countries such as China that our self-regulatory measures are pathetic.

The Day the Earth...Burned Up

Keanu Reeves prepares to slurp the kool-aid with thirsty abandon. Thanks to Noel.

Klaatu To Warn Us About.... Global Warming? - Screen Rant:

I don't know how familiar you are with the original (and classic) version of The Day the Earth Stood Still, but it was borne out of fears of the Atomic Age and the initial stirrings of the Cold War. Today it may seem quaint and dated but at the time it was a very relevant theme to be tackled from a sci-fi angle.

Over at MTV.com they've quoted Keanu Reeves in an interview and while he admits that yes, there is a huge threat posed by the staggering number of international conflicts...

"The version [of 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'] I was just working on, instead of being man against man, it’s more about man against nature. My Klaatu says that if the Earth dies, you die. If you die, the earth survives. I’m a friend to the earth."

Ok, all together now: Awwwwwwwwwww.....

Climate Change: Is CO2 the cause? (Part 1)

While you're at it, don't forget The Great Global Warming Swindle (Part 1 of 8) video, which is just incredible and awesome to watch. It's a must-see for all you denying flat earthers out there.

AGW ended 10 years ago!

Read it and weep, alarmists... CO2 is NOT DRIVING THE CLIMATE! Thanks to Newsbusters once more.

Climate facts to warm to | The Australian:

CATASTROPHIC predictions of global warming usually conjure with the notion of a tipping point, a point of no return.

Last Monday - on ABC Radio National, of all places - there was a tipping point of a different kind in the debate on climate change. It was a remarkable interview involving the co-host of Counterpoint, Michael Duffy and Jennifer Marohasy, a biologist and senior fellow of Melbourne-based think tank the Institute of Public Affairs. Anyone in public life who takes a position on the greenhouse gas hypothesis will ignore it at their peril.
Duffy asked Marohasy: "Is the Earth still warming?"

She replied: "No, actually, there has been cooling, if you take 1998 as your point of reference. If you take 2002 as your point of reference, then temperatures have plateaued. This is certainly not what you'd expect if carbon dioxide is driving temperature because carbon dioxide levels have been increasing but temperatures have actually been coming down over the last 10 years."

Duffy: "Is this a matter of any controversy?"

Marohasy: "Actually, no. The head of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has actually acknowledged it. He talks about the apparent plateau in temperatures so far this century. So he recognises that in this century, over the past eight years, temperatures have plateaued ... This is not what you'd expect, as I said, because if carbon dioxide is driving temperature then you'd expect that, given carbon dioxide levels have been continuing to increase, temperatures should be going up ... So (it's) very unexpected, not something that's being discussed. It should be being discussed, though, because it's very significant."

Eat whale and save us all!

Whales
Remember, all things capitalistic are killing the earth, including our love of meat! You'll have to give that up too, or be cursed for all eternity, sinner!

Eat whale and save the planet | Reuters
:

OSLO (Reuters) - Eat a whale and save the planet, a Norwegian pro-whaling lobby said on Monday of a study showing that harpooning the giant mammals is less damaging to the climate than farming livestock.

Environmental group Greenpeace dismissed the survey, saying almost every kind of food was more climate friendly than meat.

The survey, focused on whale boats' fuel use, showed that a kilo (2.2 lbs) of whale meat represented just 1.9 kilo (4.2 lbs) of greenhouse gases against 15.8 for beef, 6.4 for pork and 4.6 for chicken.

"Basically it turns out that the best thing you can do for the planet is to eat whale meat compared to other types of meat," said Rune Froevik of the High North Alliance, which represents the interests of coastal communities in the Arctic.

"Greenhouse gas emissions caused by one meal of beef are the equivalent of eight meals of whale meat," the study said.

More monikers: Flat Earthers!

I guess the warmaholics got the maximum use out of declaring us AGW skeptics as "Holocaust deniers." Now, we've been labeled as "flat earthers" in an attempt to silence us, make us seem stupid, and put us at imagined odds with the "rest of the world."

Of course, I can easily reverse this, because believing in manmade climate change is like believing in a flat earth. It's like believing that the Earth is the center of the universe, whereby we must invent elaborate models so that the observed movements of heavenly bodies continue to make sense according to our beliefs. In this case, we have to create elaborate models to keep the theory of AGW afloat.

Galileo suffered as we deniers are now; in those days, the Roman Catholic Church tormented him. Today, the Church of Global Warming with Al Gore as its head is tormenting any who dare say, "nope, it's BS."

Again, we come back to debate based on science, which we've been denied. No one wants debate; they want silence--our silence and conformity.

CNN: Climate Conference Attendees Are Like Flat Earthers | NewsBusters.org:

O'BRIEN: Fagin teaches journalism and writes on the environment. He says skeptics have changed their tune as evidence started stacking up against them. A decade ago they denied global warming even existed.

FAGIN: They're getting closer to the scientific reality, although they're certainly not there yet. The only way that they could be right is if there was some kind of grand conspiracy.

O'BRIEN: But that is what Heartland desperately wants us to believe. Even the Flat Earth Society didn't fold its tent in 1493.

Miles O'Brien, CNN, New York.

BTW...O'Brien is showing his ignorance, as the FES was still functioning in 2001. Putz...do your research!

IPCC scientists reject AGW theory

I love it when former U.N. IPCC scientists denounce the Frankenstein they helped to create.

The new "inconvenient truth" that dares not say its name:

Hundreds of climate experts from around the world at the New York conference issued a "Manhattan Declaration," whose title gets right to the bottom line: Nature, not Human activity, Rules the Climate.

Among those at the gathering was former UN scientist (he quit the UN group in disgust) Dr. Paul Reiter of the Pasteur Institute in Paris. Dr. Reiter told the attendees that, "[a]s far as the science being 'settled,' I think that is an obscenity. The fact is the science is being distorted by those who are not scientists."

Added famed hurricane expert and meteorologist Dr. William Gray: "There are a lot of skeptics out there, all over the U.S. and the rest of the world. [Global warming] has been over-hyped tremendously; most of the climate change we have seen is largely natural. I think we are brainwashing our children terribly."

There are other IPCC scientists who have rejected their part in the farce. Let's take John Christy.

My Nobel Moment - WSJ.com:

I've had a lot of fun recently with my tiny (and unofficial) slice of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). But, though I was one of thousands of IPCC participants, I don't think I will add "0.0001 Nobel Laureate" to my resume.

The other half of the prize was awarded to former Vice President Al Gore, whose carbon footprint would stomp my neighborhood flat. But that's another story.

I'm sure the majority (but not all) of my IPCC colleagues cringe when I say this, but I see neither the developing catastrophe nor the smoking gun proving that human activity is to blame for most of the warming we see. Rather, I see a reliance on climate models (useful but never "proof") and the coincidence that changes in carbon dioxide and global temperatures have loose similarity over time.

Al Gore's response to Dr. Christy? We deniers are "outliers" and "flat earthers." Gore thinks we need MORE propaganda to brainwash you sheep out there into believing his little fart ball called global warming.

Al Gore, Comedian: Media's Global-Warming Coverage Too Balanced | NewsBusters.org:

AL GORE: Well, he's an outlier. He no longer belongs to the IPCC, and he is way outside the scientific consensus. But Meredith, part of the challenge the news media has had in covering this story is the old habit of taking the "on the one hand, on the other hand" approach. There are still people who believe that the earth is flat. But when you're reporting on a story like the one you're covering today, where you have people all around the world, you don't take, you don't search out, for someone who still believes the earth is flat and give them equal time. And the reason the IPCC was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the thousands of scientists who make up that group, have for almost twenty years now created a very strong scientific consensus, that is as strong a consensus as you'll ever see in science, that the climate crisis is real, human beings are responsible for it, the results will be very bad for the United States and for the entire world community, all human beings, unless we do something about it. And there is still time to solve it.

ABC's Stossel a rare media type

There are a few media members out there who are bravely standing up to the BS machine, but you can see that they're getting sidelined, burned, and ignored. Kudos to Newsbusters for touting the recent work that John Stossel did for ABC's 20/20.

ABC's Stossel Takes on Gore Movie, Talks to Dissenting Scientists | NewsBusters.org:

STOSSEL: "You've heard the reports. The globe is warming. And it's our fault. And the consequences will be terrible. But you should know there is another side to this story. And scientists who've tried to tell it are often threatened. Which makes me say, 'Give Me a Break.'"
STOSSEL: Is this what the global warming debate has come to? One side saying, "Shut up, dissent must not be heard." The truth is that, while everyone agrees the earth has warmed, lots of good scientists don't agree that it's mostly our fault, and don't agree that it's going to be a catastrophe. So when the Nobel Prize winner says-

GORE: The debate's over. The debate's over.

STOSSEL: I say, "Give Me a Break."

Usually, what we see from media members is fearmongering and advocacy; let's take CBS's Harry Smith, as a small example, when he recently interviewed NYC's Mayor Bloomberg.

CBS's Smith to Bloomberg: 'Manhattan Will Be Underwater by 2050' | NewsBusters.org:
To match Bloomberg’s alarmist rhetoric, Smith added "Manhattan will be underwater by 2050." Amusingly, even Bloomberg thought that assertion went too far, "There's a -- I don't know that Manhattan will be underwater, but certainly the environment's going to be a lot worse that we leave our children."

We'll need lots of your money, or your grandkids will die

More admissions from the Old Grey Lady. First, they'll need large amounts of revenue to "cure" nonexistent global warming. Since this is still the "Government by the people...", you should keep in mind that this "revenue" will come out of your wallet, Joe American. The U.N. is clamoring for Joe American's wallet too, as we've been proclaimed the foremost climate sinners of the world.

Next comes a usual tactic from this side of politics--FEAR of hurting children. Hey, Joe American, are your grandkids worth all the money? Think about it. If you say no then that means you're a slimy, scum-sucking conservative "flat-earther."

They're trying to get us by the sack here folks. Wake up!

Are the Grandkids Worth the Money? - New York Times:

Arresting global warming won’t come cheap. Europe and Japan are already spending billions to meet the modest carbon emission cuts that they agreed to in Kyoto 10 years ago. And according to a recent United Nations report, switching to cleaner energy sources would require investments of up to $20 trillion over the next two decades. Add to that other economic costs, such as the rise in food prices attributable to the world’s embrace of renewable fuels.

This is money that might be spent to address other pressing social problems, like world hunger, lack of access to clean water in poor countries, malaria, AIDS. Is that a good trade-off? How much should the world be willing to sacrifice today to avert the future costs of global warming?

NYT admits Medieval Warm Period

Look carefully at the NYT's "unbiased" review of this book. They acknowledge something that warmaholics seldom admit; the Medieval Warm Period (or the "Little Climate Optimum"), which preceded the last "Little Ice Age." The LCO completely destroys the theory of the "hockey stick" graph, originally touted by the IPCC as proof of global warming. This graph has since been thoroughly debunked.

Though the Time's reviewer gives credit where credit is due, they also begin to make some far-reaching claims as to the negatives of so-called climate change in the warming direction. Do we REALLY know that warming killed off the Mayans? I don't think so. The word "appalling" as a debit certainly paints with a broad stroke of impending, manmade disaster.

Here's what's hidden and not admitted: NATURAL CLIMATE CHANGE HAPPENS. Get over it people. We aren't causing it with poot gas.

The Great Warming - Brian Fagan - Book Review - New York Times:

If you don’t think climate change produces winners as well as losers, consider this: In the 12th and 13th centuries England exported wine to France. Vineyards also flourished in improbable regions like southern Norway and eastern Prussia. A centuries-long spell of mild, predictable weather blessed Western Europe with abundant crops, healthy populations and budget surpluses sufficient to finance projects like Chartres Cathedral.

This is the credit side of a global balance sheet carefully itemized by Brian Fagan in “The Great Warming,” his fascinating account of shifting climatic conditions and their consequences from about A.D. 800 to 1300, often referred to as the Medieval Warm Period. The debit side is appalling: widespread drought, catastrophic rainfall, toppled dynasties, ruined civilizations. Abandoned Maya temples in the Yucatan and the desolation of Angkor Wat, supreme achievement of the Khmer empire, bear witness to climatic change against which royal power and priestly magic proved impotent.

Cold causes giant Antarctic marine life

Notice first how they state (about midway through the article) that they're studying stuff down there because of "global warming." But then we see the theory that these huge critters are that way because of the cold.

So are they saying we're killing them off (probably), or are they saying they're going to shrink (LOL)?

If they're REAL scientists, I hope they'll be brave enough to admit when their research shows them that global warming is an unequivocal load of crap. But since I'm sure they're enjoying the research dollars coming in, don't look for "climate change" to go away any time soon.

Global warming is the "snake oil" of the new millennium.

The Associated Press: Giant Marine Life Found in Antarctica:

The survey was part of the International Polar Year program involving 23 countries in 11 voyages to survey marine life and habitats around Antarctica. The program hopes to set benchmarks for determining the effects of global warming on Antarctica, researchers said.

Cold temperatures, a small number of predators, high levels of oxygen in the sea water and even longevity could explain the size of some specimens, said Robertson, a scientist with NIWA.

Global warming rushes spring?

May as well blame global warming. You freakin' idiots blame everything else on it. Again, this is a big LOL considering the winter from which we're just now trying to emerge.

Notice the words BLAME and WORRY...these are two big parts of the global warming lie.

The Associated Press: Global Warming Rushes Timing of Spring:

Pollen is bursting. Critters are stirring. Buds are swelling. Biologists are worrying.

"The alarm clock that all the plants and animals are listening to is running too fast," Stanford University biologist Terry Root said.

Blame global warming.

Arctic sea ice is back, but so what...it's only NEW ICE

Like I told you, there's no accepting reality. The climate reverses 100 years of warming in one year, and the media poo-poos it away as if it's nothing. It's no real news at all to them.

One must understand: they're way too invested in all this now to just let it go. As I've said, way too many reputations are hanging in the balance--political, media, and scientific reputations are all on the chopping block over the global warming lie.

This article is one giant disclaimer: pay no attention to the cold, record-setting winter we just experienced. Pay no attention to the reformed Arctic ice, snowfall records, record cold, Canadian snow rage, and so on. Try not remember the dire predictions for what a warm winter we were going to have. Please don't pay attention to the numerous scientists who say that AGW is wrong, and please don't notice the IPCC members who've changed their minds.

Notice only the empirical evidence that proves their faltering theory, you bunch of sheep. Check out this contradictory article from just the other day.

The Associated Press: Arctic Sea Ice Builds, but Vulnerable:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Critical Arctic sea ice this winter made a tenuous partial recovery from last summer's record melt, federal scientists said Tuesday. But that's an illusion, like a Hollywood movie set, scientist Walter Meier of the National Snow and Ice Data Center said. The ice is very thin and vulnerable to heavy melting again this summer. Overall, Arctic sea ice has shrunk precipitously in the past decade and scientists blame global warming caused by humans.

Last summer, Arctic ice shrank to an area that was 27 percent smaller than the previous record. This winter, it recovered to a maximum of 5.8 million square miles, up 4 percent and the most since 2003, NASA ice scientist Josefino Comiso said. It is still a bit below the long-term average level for this time of year.

But more than 70 percent of that sea ice is new, thin and salty, having formed only since September, Comiso said. The more important ice is perennial sea ice that lasts through the summer, and that ice has hit record low levels.

Reuters covered the same story with a different angle. They chose to IGNORE THE NEW ICE and instead only lament the "old, thick" ice they say we've lost and will continue losing. Remember that this NASA crap is directly traced to Dr. Hansen, warm-alarm-man from hell.

NASA data shows thickest and oldest Arctic ice is melting | Reuters
:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The thickest, oldest and toughest sea ice around the North Pole is melting, a bad sign for the future of the Arctic ice cap, NASA satellite data showed on Tuesday.

"Thickness is an indicator of long-term health of sea ice, and that's not looking good at the moment," Walt Meier of the National Snow and Ice Data Center told reporters in a telephone briefing.

See, I’ve told you before. Forget the freezing ass winter we just had; according to this, it was still WARMER than normal, in certain places.

Can you believe this crap? I’m telling you…they’ve built this global warming garbage into such a monstrosity that they can’t possibly allow the house of cards to fall. Too many reputations are at stake as this sham is exposed for what it really is--NOTHING.

Let’s review some of the media-hyped non-disasters of the past. We’ve had Y2K, “global cooling,” bird flu, SARS, ozone depletion, and now global warming. Is the world even awake? Is the world even thinking anymore?

Record snowfalls mean big meltdown - USATODAY.com

Although final global numbers for winter won't be available until next week, some locations enjoyed their warmest winter ever, including Sweden, Finland and Latvia, according to wire reports. In December, January and February, the average temperature in Stockholm, for example, was 36 degrees — the highest mark since recordkeeping began in 1756.
Someone should tell Canadians that global warming is real. They’re closer to the Arctic than most of us, and they’re suffering this year…still. Eleven days before spring, they just can’t seem to get a break. There's so much snow and winter that people are becoming violent, but notice the “cover statements” in the piece. The media will keep this climate balloon afloat for as long as they can.

Brockville Recorder and Times - Ontario, CA:

It's snow joke.

Hold onto your hats, scarves and shovels. Weather forecasters are predicting even more of the white stuff Tuesday after a brief respite today following the weekend's blizzard that blanketed eastern Ontario.

Guns and fists as snow rage erupts | Oddly Enough | Reuters:
QUEBEC CITY, Quebec (Reuters) - Although Canada is one of the snowiest countries in the world, a series of violent "snow rage" incidents reveal that even the locals have their limits.

Police in the French-speaking province of Quebec said on Wednesday that people were fighting over snow clearing and even parking spaces.

This is funny, because the AP finds a way to sneak a global warming plug into a dog race story. They use twice the phrase “unseasonably warm.” Of course, other stories made the point that a lack of snow forced them to move the race's start further north. But my question is: why just move the start point north for lack of snow? Wouldn't the entire race need to be moved northward? Could there be a lack of snow there? How'd they judge that? And why didn't they come down south here to the CONUS to pick up all the snow they wanted? Or heck, see the above article...they could have just trucked some up from Canada.

Point is, if warming caused a lack of snow in Alaska for the Iditarod as the LA Times claims, what's caused the over abundance of snow everywhere else in the world?

FOXNews.com - Defending Champion Lance Mackey Wins Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race:

Mackey's dogs struggled with diarrhea and unseasonably warm temperatures earlier in the race. But they were in noticeably better health in White Mountain, where mushers are required to take an eight-hour break before heading up the icy Bering Sea coast for the homestretch.
